People were nice...but I went in with pain, they prescribed me meds. when I went to pick up the meds they didn't even send the prescription they literally told me and instructed me how to take twice. Now I'll have to wait a whole 24 hours in pain just to be able to get urgently needed medication a whole day late when it's urgently needed. Lost a day of work just to have to suffer through a whole work day the next day with the same pain that caused me to call off today. read more

I had a disappointing experience here. I called ahead of my visit because I knew my situation regarding insurance was unique. Instead of receiving the help I needed, I felt rushed, mishandled, and overheard staff talking negatively about me while I was waiting. If I had received accurate answers to my questions, I wouldn't have come in. It's also frustrating to be told that I don't have insurance when I know for a fact that I do. Then when as I explaining myself. She states so you knew we didn't accept your insurance not listening to the fact that my secondary insurance covers it. read more

My appointment was at 1pm, I walked in at 1:05pm. I waited 6 minutes for someone to check me in. They proceeded to ask why I was late for my appointment I explained that I live in Clovis and at 12:30pm there is a massive amount of traffic on the 99 causing me to be 5 minutes late. I don't think it's professional to ask a personal question on why I was 5 minutes late to my appointment. Especially when the lady checking me in was loud enough for everyone in the waiting room to stare at me. She then proceeded to say that my appointment would possibly be canceled for being 5 minutes late. She then asked the doctor if I could still be seen, they said I could be seen but I would have to wait 30 minutes-hour all for being 5 minutes late. This wasn't a check up appointment it was an appointment for a serious matter that they even recommended I go to the emergency room for when I made the appointment. I don't condone being late at all it was my fault for being 5 minutes late, but how they treated the situation and urgent matter of my appointment was very unprofessional, not to mention the unprofessional way I was treated and how loud the woman was talking was extremely embarrassing. Needless to say I would not recommend this Planned Parenthood. I think they should maybe train the staff to be more professional and not make patients feel embarrassed. Fresno's Planned Parenthood's are ten times better. I only made an appointment in Madera because it was the soonest I could be seen for this urgent matter. read more

I have now been to two Planned parenthood in the area. Madera and Merced. They both wanted money and they both refused to give me any other birth control except pills. I have asked them not to contact me any more. I am tired of their lies. I do not like to be scammed or treated badly because I am poor. . read more

Nurse was super nice and informative. Check-in staff was also very courteous. Wait time with an appointment could have been shorter though. 10 mins past my appointment time. Donated $5 and they were super grateful. PP protesters only stayed for like 15 min that day. Glad they threw in the towel early that day. Man, get a life homies and keep your opinions to yourself. eesh. I'm just trying to get some testing done. read more

Came for a BC removal. Took a month to book an appointment and the only one available was in Madera (I'm from Fresno) once I got there (30 min early) they said their systems were down and began turning people away even tho they had an appointment. I decided to wait it out and an hour later their systems started to work again and thankfully I was able to be seen. It was very frustrating at first but Hilda in the front was very nice . . I feel bad for the people who left or who were turned away considering the fact that there isn't a way to call the center directly or that it's a hassle to get here anyway. My removal went well and the staff was great. Only complaint was the delay in the system. read more

I have been coming to this location for a while now. I used to go to the one in Fresno on first street but the staff there is always rude and they never seem to have appointments so I started coming to the Madera location. The staff here is so friendly and kind. They're always so attentive and quick. I only had a 20 minute wait in the middle of the afternoon, which is unheard of these days. After leaving my visit yesterday I had to spread the word! The doctor that helped me was very kind and caring. The front office staff was friendly and very helpful. The assistant that called me to the room was Manuel, He was awesome! and very easy on the eyes as well :) never have I experienced such kindness from staff at a medical office. Manuel made it seem like my problems were his problems, he was so attentive to my distress and really made me feel comfortable and he actually explained everything to me in detail making sure I understood everything and had an opportunity to ask questions which from my past experiences is not common of planed parenthood. Very personable and even had a great conversation about country music LOL it was the best doctor visit I think I've ever had. this staff is really warm hearted and I will definitely be returning. My only complaint, if you can even call it a complaint is that the office itself seems very small. Rooms don't seem to be big enough for the work the doctors need to do in them. I only say this because my poor doctor had to constantly move items around in the room just to do an exam comfortably and maneuver around. she didn't seem to mind though so maybe it was just me. anyways, thanks planned parenthood for being available for people like me. read more

To begin, the receptionists were rude/unhelpful on the phone. I had called two separate times to get information on STI treatment and both times the clerks gave me a different estimate of cost for simple antibiotic treatment, ranging from $40-120! When we arrived in person they were unwilling to see us for treatment, and told us we could do a urine test only, even though it was a known exposure and we had already paid to get testing elsewhere. They gave us a different estimate in person in addition to this claiming it was "40 for the appointment, 45 for each treatment, and 45 for each test", totaling to $220 for each person! I knew for a fact that we could get appropriate help at another Planned Parenthood, so we made an appointment in Fresno on First St, we were seen right away, the receptionist signed us up for family pact right away, and we were treated for free without doing testing - and out the door within an hour!!! Do NOT go to this clinic unless they give you services for free, they are determined to take advantage of patients that have nowhere else to go! read more
