She said they were closing and would not be able to treat my dog, which confused me since the website says they are open 24 hours. When I checked the sign on the door, it did say that they closed at 8:00, but we were there about 7:20 and she still refused to see my dog. That girl should not be working in a cemetery much less an emergency animal hospital, and shame on the owners for allowing that kind of behavior.

I called and was able to come in the same day; it was much faster than I expected but I knew it was a possibility. I didn't want my little guy to suffer any longer for selfish reasons or a longer goodbye. When I arrived, everyone was very empathetic. They came in to give him a checkup to determine if it actually was the best course, and when they finished, the look of sorrow in the doctor's eye communicated that she agreed that my assessment was correct. The whole time I was bawling my eyes out, they were comforting me. They explained the procedure and administered the sedative and allowed me to hold and comfort my dog as it took its course to put him to sleep. I knew from how relaxed he became and his ability to breathe deep and easily that he was no longer in pain, and I held him until he finally fell asleep. He was dreaming, and his little paws were running one last time. At this point, they came back in and asked if I was ready for the next part. The male of the group was especially comforting to my dog, hugging him as they prepped him. And MOST IMPORTANTLY I was able to stay with my dog the whole time. The cremation package was excellent. Everything is included in one price; nothing additional for add-ons and the like. I got to pick my choice of urn and the label it would have. I was told it could take 2 weeks, but sometimes it could be shorter. It only took a week. The package was quite beautiful. My little guy's ashes are in a small, beautifully carved rosewood box with the tree of life. A cast of his paw and a beautiful card with a shaving of his fur and a few extras. It was all packaged quite nicely. I'm very happy with the care my dog got in his last moments and with his remains. I can't speak to the other reviews and where they were. But the VCA in New Port Richey made the last moments with my dog just a little bit more bearable and a quite beautiful layout to memorialize my little guy forever in my home.

They took my sweet girl on a Friday a 4:20pm and following her initial exam, carefully and clearly explained and in detail, answering all of my questions and concerns with compassion. Dr. Wendt offered several options for treatment with her advanced age the main consideration. Kirsten, the vet tech was so kind and gentle with little Gynness and cradled her like her own. Additionally, VCA Little Animal Hospital has a jewel in Tracy, the Client Service rep. She makes you feel like you are the only person in the room who needs answers and support, especially when you are dealing with an emergency and yet she speaks to everyone in the same lovely manner whether you are in person or on the phone. Exam and bloodwork provided answers at the surface and they provided medications to make her comfortable and treat the dehydration. Gynness showed immediate improvement in 12 hours. Because of her age, I will not put her through invasive testing and Dr. Wendt will ensure I have the medication she needs for a comfortable rest of life. I am very happy to have found VCA Little Animal Hospital and the extraordinary staff. Dropped my beautiful, 3 year old Dobie off for daycare at 730 am - perfect health, no cuts, wounds,…read moreetc. Picked her up at 515pm from daycare - injured from their admitted neglect. My dog had a huge wound across her face and her front paws were incredibly inflamed and damaged from being scraped up. At 515pm, I was waiting at the reception desk next to the door by the hallway where they bring the dogs up. I could hear two women whispering on the other side of the door about whether they needed to tell me that my dog was injured. I could hear one say that they needed to say something because it was "right there on her nose." Does this mean that if the wound was not readily visible that they would not have said anything? When asked how she obtained this gaping wound across her face, they responded that she must have been distressed when she was in the kennel while they were on a THREE HOUR BREAK. Now, I was told when I toured the facility that they have cameras that are monitored at all times. Well, this is clearly a lie, inaccurate, misinformation, fake news, whatever you want to call it - their claim that they monitor the cameras at all times is just not true. If it were true then I would not have picked my dog up with a gaping wound on her nose, and her smooth toe beans would not look like they were fur (from being shredded). If it were true then someone would have seen that she was in distress instead of being neglected in the kennel for THREE HOURS. Now, when I toured, they did inform me that they do take a break in the afternoons; however, when I'm told that cameras are monitored that should mean that while no one is there, the cameras are still being monitored - after all, that is what they claim. They told me about their policy of monitoring the cameras at all times MULTIPLE times - during the tour, during the social, dropping her off, etc. They prided themselves on this! Again, if this were true, someone would have intervened when my dog was trying to self-destruct in the kennel. The other incredibly disturbing part about this is that they WAITED to tell me about this. They did not call me, they waited until I picked her up (at which point the vet was closed). So my dog had a gaping wound across her face while she was at day care for hours, when they could have called me and I would have rushed over and taken her to the vet immediately. Another concern, but miniscule by comparison to an injury, my Doberman, who has been well trained and socialized (in daycare since she was 3 months old) gets along with all dogs even small ones because we also have a Pom and a Morkie. While she gets along with everybody, we specifically asked them not to put her in with little dogs, because she's 110 pounds and we want her to get her energy out - which she cant do at home around our small dogs. So when we picked her up the same day that she had been injured, they tried to placate us by telling us how well she played that day with little dogs. What? Why would they put 110 pound dog in to play with little dogs? Especially when I specifically asked them to put her in with dogs her own size and NOT little dogs. If you have a small dog, would you want your dog to play with a 110 pound Doberman? Probably not, and I wouldn't want my dog to inadvertently hurt another dog because she is so much bigger by comparison. The owner of this facility shows Dobermans. I wonder what she would do if she picked up her show dog from a facility where her dog was injured to a degree that the vet said, "Wow, that's going to leave a pretty scar" - and she would NEVER be able to show her dog again. Anyway, a $250 vet bill and a scar down my dog's face later, they STILL refused to refund the credit on my account, so I had to do a charge back with my bank. Bottom line, I'm not exactly sure how this place has glowing reviews, how they are still in business, because this place is literally balancing on the head of a pin. They are a lawsuit waiting to happen. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. Just save yourself the headache and the heartache and the money!

I was not able to find colors for my dogs as they're small and I wasn't about to put them in cat collars. I checked the food and the prices seem to be a lot higher when I can order off of Amazon. I did take one of my dogs to be grounded and she ended up with some nicks and cuts and seemed to be very afraid afterwards so I never took her back for grooming. They have a few parakeets and snakes and other small creatures but everything seem to be so overpriced. I didn't think that they were very competitive with Walmart or some of the other pet care stores. And as I said, I can order the same product off of Amazon for a less expensive price and have it delivered to me free of charge. I would say PetSmart is OK if you really need something in a pinch, if they have it in stock. I was not impressed, but the cashier was nice and kept pushing for me to try to get a credit card and I kept saying no, but she tried over and over until I finally paid and left.

Only requirement was that she be up to date on her rabies shot and currently be treated for fleas and ticks. Upon entering the grooming area we were greeted by the staff. They were extremely polite. Talked with Mariana, who was going to be taking care of her. She was extremely knowledgeable in all of the services that they offered and the different things we needed. My Peanut was shaking like a leaf when I dropped her off but this young lady was very calming with her and Peanut was great. The grooming is a little pricier than some of the small grooming places but they still do an excellent job.
