Summary: I…read more*recommend* Envision Imaging on Plano Pkwy for patients in the area who have Diagnostic Imaging orders from physicians and surgeons. Details: Envision Imaging is conveniently located on Plano Pkwy near Marsh Lane. Gorgeous and sparkling clean medical office building. I had an MRI and CT Scan this week at Envision Imaging. Nurse was professional, a good communicator, friendly, and cheerful. It is wonderful to have a nurse who smiles and can relax a patient. Nurse explained everything in an easy way for me to understand. I appreciate her expertise and her willingness to have short conversations with me. She gently inserted the catheter that was used for contrast dye. She also gently removed the catheter after the procedures were complete. MRI and CT technicians were also professional and good communicators. They also explained everything ahead of time so I knew what to expect. Two days later I returned to Envision Imaging to pick up my CD-ROM of previous imaging. I also picked up a CD-ROM of the MRI and CT that Envision Imaging performed. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. They quickly provided the 2 CD-ROM that I ask for. Thank you to the entire staff at Envision Imaging on Plano Pwky. I recommend this to patients who need diagnostic imaging. - SS

They used to just have just the lamps on in both waiting areas. No overhead bright lighting exposing our vulnerabilities. There used to be relaxing music for both waiting rooms. We used to lock these dressing room doors to keep our belongings while we were getting an exam. Then it moved to lockers that we could lock. Now you can use the lockers but no key. I'm not leaving my clothes and purse in an unlocked locker!!! There used to be deodorant in the bathroom and such since we came without. That bakers rack is holding only a very very dusty fake plant. Layers of dust on restroom wall pictures. Heavy dust on molding of dressing rooms. No magazines to read anymore. The staff talks loudly behind the desk. As you walk back out to the office area, you're faced with a cramped desk to the right with a sign in our face. It's up to the patient to find someone to checkout with an employee instead of having a caring and appreciative employee directing you. This place used to be very relaxing for us nervous patients. Now we're treated like herds. First impressions: At the desk there's a warning sign for verbal or physical abuse..good way to invite the majority of nice customers. And we automatically think it's not a safe place to be if there's abuse. We are vulnerable half dressed. I think I'll look for another place that's more inviting in every way. Personal Care quality is DOWN. MUST BE NEW OWNERS IN THE LAST 5-10 years. Oh used to have pretty and cute baskets to take our used coverups. Now a hospital metal bin sitting in the seating area. Not too aesthetic. Barbara the exam tech handle me very good with instructions that didn't sound like a broken record like the office staff. Although, I couldn't see her behind her monitor, one girl was sitting opposite of door coming out from exam waiting area had a genuine voice saying hello and goodbye. Everyone else seemed like it's just a job. Us patients are nervous to dress down, be handled and smashed, we need extra comfort and gentleness. Just not personal or intentional of our comfort anymore. So sad.

When I've needed outpatient imaging I now request only the Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center…read more(SWDIC) in Dallas. I've been their patient for decades, the first reason I recommend them. I've seen many freestanding radiology practices disappear, along with my reports and images, many of which would be valuable for comparison if only they were available. My first tip: Stick with a company with proven longevity, such as SWDIC. My second tip: Get all of your outpatient imaging done at the same place so that you will know how to quickly find what a provider may want to see some day. SWDIC does every procedure I can think of. My next tip: if you have special needs, go to an imaging center where the staff and their accomodations can meet your needs easily. Two examples: at SWDIC, I always had the best of care from Cindy, the same mammography tech year after year, despite my limitations from MS. And I know of no other place you can have an MRI if you can't just get up and walk away from your power wheelchair (Don't I wish!) and walk the long distance to the MRI table. Uh, there's a good reason that I must use a power wheelchair, and only SWDIC has an MRI with a detachable exam table that can be brought to the patient who can't trek to an attached exam table! I thank God for the foresight of SWDIC clinical and executive staff for providing this invaluable tool! Never have I ever met a SWIC staff member, from schedulers to the front desk, to the professional staff who was not both professional and kind, and personal if the interaction was long enough. You may well leave with your images and reports in hand; just ask, if that will be helpful. And don't get away without a parking voucher, although I've always been given one before I could ask.

Months later we are receiving bills saying they are not covered due to being out of network. It is impossible to get anyone to contact us to remedy the situation. For as many people that are commenting the same things...we should look into a class action lawsuit. I think there's no way it's legal to have no way to discuss bills.

The technician became very upset and informed me that customers are not supposed to open the van door. My first concern is that this protocol is not communicated anywhere in the appointment process. I reviewed my confirmation email, appointment instructions, and other communications, and there is no instruction telling customers not to open the van door, to wait outside until called, or to look for any readiness indicator.  When I asked how I was supposed to know this procedure, I was told it was clearly stated in the appointment email. It is not. My second concern is how the interaction was handled. I was treated as though I had knowingly violated an established rule when, in reality, I was following the arrival process I had come to understand through years of experience as a BodySpec customer. I have completed numerous scans over approximately three years, and technicians often do not open the door at the appointment time, and I have never seen any signage/indicator in the van window depicting whether the van is ready for the next client.   As a result, knocking and then opening the door after receiving no response had become the only practical way to determine whether the appointment was ready to begin.  Put simply, it is not reasonable to hold customers accountable for violating a procedure that was never communicated and is inconsistent with the experience BodySpec has repeatedly created for returning customers. My third concern is the justification that was given. The technician explained that she was alone in the van and did not know who I was or what my intentions were.  While I understand the importance of employee safety, that concern does not justify blaming a legitimate customer for failing to follow an unpublished protocol.  More importantly, the reasoning itself is difficult to reconcile with the situation. If unauthorized entry is considered a genuine safety concern, the solution should be clear instructions, visible signage, and/or physical controls such as a locked door. i.e., An undocumented customer procedure does little to address someone with actual bad intentions, while creating unnecessary conflict with paying customers who are simply trying to attend their appointments. A customer cannot reasonably be expected to comply with a rule that has never been communicated, and a person with malicious intent would be unlikely to follow that rule regardless. What is most disappointing is that this situation was entirely avoidable. A simple instruction in the appointment confirmation such as "Please do not open the van door. Wait outside until the technician invites you in" would have prevented the entire interaction. I have been a loyal customer for years, which is why this experience was so surprising and frustrating. Unfortunately, this interaction has significantly damaged my confidence in BodySpec. I hope the company will review both the customer communication process and the way situations like this are handled in the future so that other customers do not have a similar experience.
