I know quite a few that have been put out of business because of the chain home improvement stores. When you go to Merrifield, you will be bathed in the amazing living variety that can be brought to your home, for indoors and outdoors. The selection is beyond anything I've ever seen, and the staff clearly loves the business. You can browse hundreds of plant and flower options indoors And they also have an amazing selection of patio adornments. The best was my experience today. I needed a garden hose adapter. Sounds simple enough, but this is so uncommon that all of the local chains didn't have anything, and one young man in an orange apron Ron suggested I just get it on Amazon. I stopped here at Merrifield, and they also did not have it in stock. But the gentleman at the counter Suggested that he'd be happy to make one for me if I wouldn't mind waiting for a few minutes. And he jumped into action, grabbing the hose and fittings that he needed and manufactured what I needed for me on the spot. That his old-fashioned service deserves a lot more than just five stars. Please bring them your business!

I've heard great things about Merrifield and though I've visited before, I hadn't bought anything. I took some pics of my lawn, some of the current grass/weeds/plants growing and went to their help desk. It was mid-week, so not too busy. Craig was working the desk and so I don't bury the lead... he was AMAZING. I explained what I was trying to do, that I really knew nothing, and though I had done a little research, I didn't want to trust everything I had read/watched. He walked me through my options. I don't care much about what is growing, just that we have good coverage. Clover was something I was interested in. He explained the clover options as well as some low-maintenance grass options. He even spent a lot of time helping me understand about aerating since it was something I wanted to know more about. I decided to go with grass and clover, hoping a mix might balance between lawn and something for the pollinators. As the spots were relatively small, he said I could just hand spread, especially with the clover seeds being so tiny. While prices are a little higher than the big box stores, looking into this, the products seem to be of a higher quality. Luckily my issue was sort of small to start with so I felt it was a good investment.

They always have a lot of lanes open, as well as lots of self check out. Staff is very friendly. They do check your receipt when you leave but are always very nice. I prefer this one over the ones closer to me so I save my shopping for Saturday's when I'm out this way!

We had everything removed and Jon Long (design consultant) came out to assess. After learning about what I was looking for, he drew up a design that included river rocks to help with drainage. We were pleased with the design (and estimate) and signed on the dotted line! The crew arrived on the scheduled day and got the work done within the day. The mulch, purchased at the super preimum price of $35.99 a yard, was junk. It consisted of metal shards, angle iron, softball size chunks of asphalt, cigarette butts (dozens) and other non mulch trash. This resulted in many hours aof raking , picking and separating out the trash that was included and cost us significant time and money to correct so it was at all usable. Owner Jeff - don't write a response making excuses and offering a pittance of price adjustment for "good will" while making excuses. When you charge these kind premium prices it fair for a custoer to expect a premium product rather than garbage you deliver - and I have purchased the ever declining product for too many times for it to be a one off situation.
