We had reservation and were seated in a nice booth. It has a nice casual ambiance. The serving size in this vegan place is small and most of the food are meant to be shared. Some of the dishes were very good while some are just okay. You'd may be think there's meat but don't be fooled. All dishes here are vegan. A favorite was the kimchi bao. Very flavorful with different textures from the fried mushrooms and other fillings were very good. I also liked the firecracker roll which had different textures and flavors. The edamame dumplings and spicy tuna roll were also fine. The summer rolls are like Vietnamese spring rolls except that it's tofu instead of shrimp. The Singapore noodles are not bad but they could be more flavorful. For desserts, we were disappointed that they did not have mango sticky rice even if it's just 6 pm. The matcha cheesecake had berry compote and whipped cream on top. It was good. The sticky toffee pudding had coconut caramel and vanilla ice cream which went well together. Our server Alondra was very personable.

The ambiance and service was good. The kids menu was nice and had variety. My daughter loved the avocado sushi rolls and ended up with two orders of it. We got the bang bang broccoli, 1000 layer crispy potatoes, Raman crunch noodles and a couple other items. I felt some dishes were really good and some was not as flavorful or something was off. It was good overall and worth trying for one or two times. It was nice knowing everything on the menu was 100% vegetarian as that made it comfortable knowing the broths and ingredients were plant based. We need more places like this

I loved every second of my time at PLANTA. I'm vegetarian so I was intrigued but I am absolutely mind blown by how great this food is. Everything tasted so fresh and perfectly done. I got great energy from my meal and really appreciated the entire experience. I'm from California so it's at the top of my list to visit the Los Angeles location. The world needs more of this.

Planta is soooo amazing. I came here for my birthday & was nervous to bring my non vegetation friends but they love it too!!! It truly is somewhere you can bring anyone and they will love it too. Everything we got was amazing but my all time favorites are the summer rolls, crispy gyoza, and the torched and pressed roll. Great drinks too.

This place is a heaven for vegans and sushi lovers. The ambiance was so good and pretty. The food menu was so well crafted that even a meat eater could easily enjoy the food here without missing the actual meat. The service was super amazing, they were quick and so good to us. Everything was super tasty. My personal favourite is the Volcano Roll. Will definitely visit again. This place is quite popular and busy, definitely make a reservation in advance.

it was okay. went for work, all vegan!! most items were not bad but i wouldn't go again if i couldn't expense it. not enough protein i liked the texture of most dishes but a lot of them were kind of bland tbh. we ordered a bunch of stuff family style, some i didnt take pics of but here's what i remember: gyoza 6.5/10: served super interesting shape, almost like a pancake with stuffed pockets of veggies. was ok crispy potatoes 5/10: mid! i liked the texture, it was crispy on the outside and i liked the potato layers. but tasted okay. truffle udon 8/10: prob my fav thing on the menu but i love truffle! super fragrant summer rolls 6/10: fresh spring rolls. nothing special bang bang broccoli 7.5/10: liked the texture! crispy, broccoli inside was kinda mushy. but tasted okay, not super flavorful. not too greasy. again, kinda bland... spicy tuna roll 7.5/10: good but no protein LMAO. feels illegal to eat dragon roll 6/10: mid mid mid... mushy, i only remember avocado and cabbage. pepper steak lettuce wraps 8/10: this was one of my favs along w the udon. one of the only things w flavor kimchi brisket fried rice 2/10: no little to no taste. little to no kimchi. don't get. singaporean noodles 8/10: i really liked these. chicken was good!! noodles were good too. my coworkers also liked the crispy rice but i didnt try service and ambience were great!

I came back to try the truffle udon and it was LIFE CHANGING. The sauce is sooo creamy and the flavor is insane. I would have appreciated even more truffle but I truly cannot complain it was already heavenly. Since I came twice in one month I also received a surprise reward in the app for a free maki roll, so I will inevitably be back again soon. Update: Came back and got the torched and pressed roll and the 1000 layer crispy potatoes. The torched and pressed was INCREDIBLE. Definitely a must if you like truffle, the truffle flavor was so intense and the miso glaze was very unique as well. My favorite out of the sushi options for sure. Crispy potatoes were also really really good, not sure what the caviar was made out of but I've never had anything like it before. My server Jasmine was really wonderful and definitely made my visit. There were some technical difficulties applying my free roll reward so she ended up just comping my roll for free and let me keep the reward to use another time. Hostess was really lovely as well. I came here 3 times in 4 days... should tell you all you need to know!

Welp, planta queen has done it again. Every time I try something new I think, how are they going to make the vegan version of this, good? But I never lack trust because I know everything on this menu is superb. I got the cosmic colada, made by amazing bartender Johnny. With coconut water, pineapple, and lemon, this tropical drink is fruity and sweet and I feel like I'm on a damn island. For my tastes it a little sweet but hey that's never a problem in my book. For to eat, I got the red dragon roll, made by chef Kelsey (the goat). Carrot salmon in a roll topped with crunchy pickled watermelon and masago. The perfect blend of crunchy and sweet, topped with a creamy (but remember folks, vegan!!) spicy mayo. And of course, I had again the pleasure of being seated in server Sarah's section. She is always such a joy, so helpful with information about the food and recommendations for plates, and of course, keeping my water filled. She knocked it out of the park!

PLANTA Queen Chicago is such a standout in the city's dining scene. Everything from the space to the service feels intentional and well thought out. I had the edamame dumplings and the poke bowl, and both were so fresh and beautifully presented. The dumplings were smooth and flavorful, and the poke bowl had a great balance of textures and ingredients. I asked for the sauces on the side, and it still came together perfectly. You can tell the kitchen really knows how to build flavor. My husband had the Korean Chick'n Sandwich with kimchi, gochujang mayo, unagi, slaw, and cilantro, and he really enjoyed it. The flavors came together so well, and he said the tots that came with it were some of the best he has ever had, super crisp and well seasoned. The miso soup he ordered was warm and comforting, a perfect start before the meal. I also took the summer rolls to go, and they were incredibly fresh with such a nice flavor combination. They held up perfectly and still tasted bright and balanced later. They have WiFi (network: pqchicagoguest) and it is a nice calm spot to start your day, especially in the early hours on a weekday. I did not try it, but they also have oat milk vegan matchas, which I will definitely come back for next time. The restaurant itself is beautiful, modern but cozy, with an energy that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. The staff was welcoming, kind, and attentive without being overbearing. It is clear that everyone here cares about creating a thoughtful plant based experience that feels elevated but still approachable. If you are in Chicago and want something vibrant, fresh, and made with care, PLANTA Queen is one of those spots that deserves to thrive. I highly recommend supporting them. They are doing something special.

I absolutely love the twist on Asian vegan food at Planta Queen. The atmosphere is astonishing and they have gone above and beyond on every detail. The drinks are wonderful and the presentation is beautiful. I've been twice now and it was a hit with both friends and family. The sushi is heavenly, especially on unlimited sushi day. During my first visit I tried a range of entrees and every dish delivered a burst of flavor that touched every taste bud. Planta Queen perfectly combines creativity, quality, and style. I can't wait to go back.

This is a plant based vegan restaurant with unique dish names! Loved the ambience and experience! The service was slow though. Not crowded. Good food! Good drinks! And excellent non diary dessert!

As someone who has never really eaten vegan food, this was such a great brunch! We went to celebrate my cousin-in-law who just turned 21, and is also vegan. And the food and drinks were amazing! Decent prices, not too bad, great drinks, awesome food. I had the brunch breakfast loaded burrito and it was great! Even their version of eggs tasted great! Our server was awesome. She checked in on us occasionally but not too much. But she also filled our waters whenever needed without us asking so it was great. Lastly, the ambiance of the location was really cool! Great design and honestly it gives a vibe outside of Chicago. It was awesome! 5/5! We'll be back!

We had an excellent dinner. We arrived during Happy Hour and ordered 2 drinks and 4 things to share: Lychee tini, Espresso martini, Bang Bang Broccoli, Wontons, Korean Chicken Bao, and Spicy Tuna roll. The wontons were more like a spinach cheese dip with wonton chips. Everything tasted good but my 2 favorites were the broccoli and the sushi. The broccoli was the best that I've ever had. Service was prompt and friendly. The noise level started out ok but as it became more crowded it was hard to hear.

It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) But add them all up and it makes me think -- even though I'm in the area frequently -- "I'll never go back here for breakfast." Overall, a disappointing experience.

Happy hour on a Saturday? Sign me up!…read more We landed on Boleo as our option for early dinner for four of us before a tango concert and performance because it's South American, and we love a theme. We never expected happy hour to be relevant for us, but our wonderful server pointed it out. Since none of us had tasted pisco before she brought us a pisco sample to try. Three of the four of us ordered pisco cocktails, and they were great! The chilcano is a pisco variation on a Moscow mule. I'm not a big fan of mules, but I liked the chilcano a lot. Whenever I'm back, I'll probably go for the pisco sour, which one of our party had and also really enjoyed. The arroz chaufa was a nice satisfying dinner that wasn't too heavy for the early hour. The loma saltado and vegetable saltado were both very much enjoyed as well. Flan was just okay. The orange was a wonderful touch that probably saved something much too custardy for me to think of as flan. Service was absolutely great. Everyone we interacted with was super professional and easy going. We didn't know what to expect for the space, and when we arrived before sunset, it felt weird how bright it was in there. After sunset, the whole space felt a lot more swanky. Prices are a good value, even apart from the happy hour offerings. This is a great option for pre-show dining in the loop.

There are areas of opportunity that could have been better. Octopus was a bit overcooked and you can definitely taste the chewiness of it. Flavor is ok but text for this dish did not come through. Ceviche "Jipijapa" de Manabi was a bit salty also, but not to the extreme. Scaling back the sodium level to achieve balance would made this a good dish. If sodium is needed, salt can be introduced afterwards. Lomo Saltado was paired with an aioli sauce instead of the green Aji verde sauce. It would have been a better pair with the verde sauce to balance out the savory profile. Overall meal was ok. Love the vibe which made it a great place to catch up or go on a date.
