Delicious!! We came for lunch and had no problem making a reservation. They offer a lunch deal that's a starter and entree for $28 but it only works if everyone at the table participates. So we did. But omg it was so much food! I ordered the Japanese sweet potato and the poke bowl with their vegan katsu. It was so crispy and delicious. We also tried the crispy rice, the beef and broccoli, the truffle udon and the crispy mushrooms. Everything was delicious and very filling!

Planta was such a great experience! The atmosphere was vibrant, stylish, full of good energy and the service was excellent from beginning to end. We tried the sushi, Drunken Chik'n Noodles, Thousand-Layer Potatoes, and Kimchi Bao Sliders and everything was flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. The Thousand-m Layer Potatoes were especially crispy and delicious, while the Drunken Chik'n Noodles were flavorful. I'm not vegan but I genuinely enjoyed every dish and never felt like anything was missing. Planta proves that plant based food can be satisfying. Great food, good service and a good vibe. I would definitely return!

Both of my guests were vegan and one of them had been here before recommending to meet up at this place. The location was convenient for everyone either on foot or taking many of the choices of public transportation. Everyone loved the interior design and the ambiance. As a non-vegan I thought the food was just okay. But we all had a very pleasant experience together!

We stumbled into this place while walking the warm summer days in Chicago. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that gives off a lively city vibe. Their bar bites were fantastic. Perfect place to sip and snack but also for dinner if you have a bigger appetite. Avocado beet tartare: rich avocado and roasted beet stack garnished with cilantro and pine nuts (perfect nutty note) and served with Taro chips that are made in house daily. This taro chip really made this dish. I wish they would sell them! Summer roll: vegan rolls with fresh papaya, pickled carrots, tofu, cilantro, and basil. Served with side of peanut sauce and nuoc Cham (omg I need this sauce for home). Highly recommend Singapore noodles: ramen noodle dish with chili curry. Cooked with bok choy, cabbage, lime, cilantro, and basil. This was just mediocre. Just a chili flavor dish but nothing special. Would prob try something different next time. Overall great location and good bar bites.

Planta Queen was the perfect birthday dinner! I've previously been to Planta Queen in New York and Florida, and the Chicago location absolutely did not disappoint. We ordered the Firecracker Roll, Korean Chicken Sandwich, Caesar Salad, Curried Beans & Lentils, Spicy Crunch Ramen, and finished with the date cake for dessert. Every single dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and memorable. If you're celebrating with non-vegans, this is the place to go. The food is creative, delicious, and approachable for everyone. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is incredible. The lighting, wallpaper, and overall ambiance make the experience feel elevated and special from the moment you walk in. Huge shoutout to hostess Chanel and our server A for making our birthday celebration feel so special. We loved it so much that we came back the next night for more sushi!

Awesome Vegan-Asian restaurant with very good mushroom-truffle cream sauce udon noodles. Excellent service (was able to get refills of iced tea after getting an Arnold Palmer), and interior atmosphere very cool. Highly recommended!

We had reservation and were seated in a nice booth. It has a nice casual ambiance. The serving size in this vegan place is small and most of the food are meant to be shared. Some of the dishes were very good while some are just okay. You'd may be think there's meat but don't be fooled. All dishes here are vegan. A favorite was the kimchi bao. Very flavorful with different textures from the fried mushrooms and other fillings were very good. I also liked the firecracker roll which had different textures and flavors. The edamame dumplings and spicy tuna roll were also fine. The summer rolls are like Vietnamese spring rolls except that it's tofu instead of shrimp. The Singapore noodles are not bad but they could be more flavorful. For desserts, we were disappointed that they did not have mango sticky rice even if it's just 6 pm. The matcha cheesecake had berry compote and whipped cream on top. It was good. The sticky toffee pudding had coconut caramel and vanilla ice cream which went well together. Our server Alondra was very personable.

Planta is soooo amazing. I came here for my birthday & was nervous to bring my non vegetation friends but they love it too!!! It truly is somewhere you can bring anyone and they will love it too. Everything we got was amazing but my all time favorites are the summer rolls, crispy gyoza, and the torched and pressed roll. Great drinks too.

I loved every second of my time at PLANTA. I'm vegetarian so I was intrigued but I am absolutely mind blown by how great this food is. Everything tasted so fresh and perfectly done. I got great energy from my meal and really appreciated the entire experience. I'm from California so it's at the top of my list to visit the Los Angeles location. The world needs more of this.

The ambiance and service was good. The kids menu was nice and had variety. My daughter loved the avocado sushi rolls and ended up with two orders of it. We got the bang bang broccoli, 1000 layer crispy potatoes, Raman crunch noodles and a couple other items. I felt some dishes were really good and some was not as flavorful or something was off. It was good overall and worth trying for one or two times. It was nice knowing everything on the menu was 100% vegetarian as that made it comfortable knowing the broths and ingredients were plant based. We need more places like this

My recent experience was not the same as when I came in two years ago. While the service was quick and the appetizers were good, around a 4 out of 5, the drinks were a solid 5 out of 5. The mains, however, were disappointing and I would rate them around 2 out of 5. We tried the bang broccoli and 1000 layer potatoes, but the potatoes were underwhelming. The drinks, Spicy Not a Rita and Cosmic Colada, were refreshing and pretty good. One thing that was disappointing was the mains. They were under seasoned with barely any salt, and we had to use soy sauce and ask for extra seasoning to adjust the salt in the dish.

We were looking for a place to accommodate 13 people during air and water show/bears game/cubs game trifecta weekend. Thinking this to be impossible we made two reservations here and they delivered on everything. Just go ahead, get that margarita or palomita and save room for dessert. The mango cheesecake tastes like summer. Don't be a quitter. No pics because we were hungry and it was family catch up time. We started with the plantains appetizer, and it was one of the most unique and delicious appetizers we've had. If you go, don't skip it. The tacos were outstanding, and homemade tortillas are always a huge plus in my book. I had two chicken tacos and one carne asada, while my wife had the cod tacos. All of them arrived already dressed with sauce, and every bite was packed with flavor. They clearly know how to build a taco. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We also enjoyed the house margaritas. My only suggestion for improvement would be upgrading the standard tequila from Cuervo. The margarita was good enough that I ordered a second, but I upgraded the tequila that time, and it made an already good drink even better. Overall, we really loved this place. Between the creative appetizer, excellent tacos, friendly staff, and great atmosphere, it's an easy recommendation. If you're a fellow taco lover looking for authentic, flavorful tacos made with quality ingredients, make this place a stop the next time you're in Chicago. You won't be disappointed.

We told the server and he didn't listen to us right away and had to repeat several to him that the temp of two steaks were incorrect not just one and he walked away without acknowledgement. The manager came to check the steaks and apologized. When we got the new steak, the whole thing was rare and we had to send it back again to get it to medium rare. Our server didn't come by at all to check and make sure everything was good. We can tell he was purposely avoiding our table. Horrible service all around. It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) But add them all up and it makes me think -- even though I'm in the area frequently -- "I'll never go back here for breakfast." Overall, a disappointing experience.

It was a great way to start the meal. The scallion pancakes were flakey and crispy and seemed to be homemade. The soup dumplings had an incredible amount of soup inside and the flavors were better than even Din Tai Fong! The skins were just thick enough to hold the soup in but thin enough to be enjoyable and not overwhelm the meat and soup inside. The dry chili chicken was amazingly spicy and flavorful! Be aware that if you have difficulty with spice that you might want to order a lower level of heat! it was too spicy for a couple of us! The Dan-Dan noodles were everybody's favorites, flavorful, with a little bit of earth and a decent amount of heat. The restaurant was cute and clean, very well lit as well.
