I started out with the Casablanca (with no grapefruit) and ordered the steak frites medium rare with well done fries. The drink was refreshing and tasty but the meal is where things took a turn. The meat was a bit tough,fatty, had no flavor, and overall wasn't very good. The fries were perfect but I couldn't get with the steak and unfortunately, sent it back. I tried to do it medium but got the same result. I was hurt because everyone's pictures of this dish is what led me in here but they couldn't get it right! Maybe they were having an off night? I have to commend the staff as they were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was to my liking. Came here for a work event so this review isn't based on the sit down experience or bar service. Keep that in mind. I still would rate this place pretty high because of the wonderful experience we had. There was probably 50-75 from my company and everyone felt like they were being taken care of. There was plenty of servers so it didn't feel too busy or waiting for food/drinks. The food, great. We only had appetizers/tapas and they just kept them flowing in. Every time food was finished / done, the next plate was coming. They were on top of their game. I popped in here to have dinner before going to CIBC Theatre for a show. Luckily for me it was still happy hour. I quickly ordered a happy hour drink then I ordered the salmon entree. They also have a prefix show menu that is $45 for 3 courses. I was short on time so I did not think I had enough time for 3 courses. Oh man! $45 prie fix meal special. I wanted to check it out and it didn't disappoint. I sat at the bar and order an old fashion to start. Saw the prie fix meal and got it. First course, I chose the New England clam chowder. It was quite tasty! There were a lot of clam and decent size clams too. It wasn't too creamy and full of potatoes, which is a plus in my book. For second course I chose the rotisserie chicken, and oh man! They give you half a chicken. You heard me, half a chicken. It was so much. The sauce on it was delicious. The chicken was moist. The veggies were on point and plentiful, good veggies too. I truly enjoyed it. For my last course, I chose the strawberry gelato. It was a huge portion. I was not able to eat all my ice cream and ate 70% of the chicken. I recommend getting this if you can come on time. It's totally a steal. It could probably feed 2 people fine for dinner. Excellent service! Isaiah took fabulous care of us. Wonderful brunch! The food was stellar. The cinnamon roll was gooey deliciousness. I had the lamb hummus and it was phenomenal. The lamb was so tender, the hummus was perfect, and the toasted bread with it was seasoned well and a nice touch. I had coffee with Frangelico in it and it was very tasty. Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon while in Chicago for a work trip. Great solo dining spot! I was able to open my laptop and get some work done as it was not busy. The food was yummy. I love a salad + fries combo and both were tasty. The waitress was very nice and said I could stay despite her shift ending and me continuing to work. I appreciated that! The salad has it all: flavorful slices of steak cooked a perfect medium, sliced avocado, chopped egg, blue cheese, pickled artichokes, tomatoes and of course, lettuce. And it's huge! I could barely eat half even though I wanted to eat more. My fiancé got the prime rib and ordered it medium rare. As you can see from the pic, it's really rare, which wouldn't have been an issue, but it also was tough. This was disappointing. I tried some of the lobster ravioli that was overstuffed with chunks of lobster! I've never seen so much stuffing in a ravioli before. This is the best choice for dinner before the opera. I guess I didn't realize how pretentious that would read, but there it is. The location is perfect, a very short walk from the Lyric, so you can park in one of the the four multilevel garages (you may need a substantial loan to pay for the parking) in the immediate vicinity and walk to both. This was fine - it came with pesto and some sort of jelly or preserves and grilled bread. It was good. Nothing remarkable. For my entree I had the shakshuka. It was just kinda average. I make shakshuka at home and just feel this was kinda plain and lacked flavor. I think they could've done more to dress it up maybe I'm not sure it just felt a bit boring. Everyone liked their food but felt similar - pretty average new American dishes with some middle eastern influence but not much to write home about. Server Stole my Credit Card on 4.30.26. Out on a date with my son, gave a good tip. Something seemed off with the server and this was confirmed when she stole my credit card and went shopping at Ross and Cottage Tobacco and Jewel. Called the restaurant three times the next morning. AI answered and doesn't give a $hit. Stay away at all costs. Update: We've since spoken to the "manager" twice. Both times she didn't even pretend to take our concern seriously (like, just lie to us to appease us - that wouldn't be hard). We've subsequently filed a police report. For potential customers considering this establishment please note this situation shows all the signs of a habitual offense. The server was very strategic in her execution. She immediately made 3 purchases all under $100 before the fraud was flagged. These purchases happened between 12am and 8am before the victim even realizes it has happened. The thief has a job where she routinely handles other people's credit cards and unlike most restaurants didn't ever offer her name when serving us. For all these reasons "management" has no compulsion to investigate the situation (nay, not even the motivation to pretend to investigate). I know people are victims of credit card fraud every day, and this isn't the first time for me. But one thing you can do to protect yourself is just not eat here. Not only was it completely obvious what happened here, the management defended the person who did it simply because "she's worked here for 4 years." Which leads me to believe...if you've eaten here in the last 4 years...check your CC statement. read more

Had dinner at Roanoke in January with a group. This place was a very cute and had a really nice ambiance about it. The wine choices were great and food tasted delicious. I got the lobster ravioli and could have had 5 more plates of it! I know the rest of the group got a variety of entrees and everything hit the spot! We went to the Roanoke before going to a musical at the Cadillac Palace. They are a good choice because the served us quickly and the food was good. We were seated and they got us drinks quickly. We had a nice bottle of red. We did not have appetizers since we were in a bit of a rush. I had the chicken parmigiana which was very good. Others had the chili which they thought was very good. The burgers are a good size and people liked them. The only person not super pleased was someone who order the salmon dish where the potatoes were not fully cooked and the salmon was a little dry, but for the most part the food was great. I've been here for lunch several times and absolutely love the power salad! This was my first time coming for dinner on a Saturday. The crowd was interesting because this part of the loop is kinda dead on the weekends other than people going to theater shows. They were very nice, but it was just surprising how fast everything came out! (Again not necessarily a bad thing but an interesting observation). While clearing appetizer plates, my drink was taken before it was empty and it was very kind of the waitress to notice and come back with a new drink for me. Service is attentive. I ordered the power salad with salmon. The salad was fresh, hearty, and lemony with the perfect amount of zing from the feta cheese. The salmon was incredibly succulent and moist (I was actually taken back by how good it was). The steak frites and pistachio cheesecake were incredible as well!!
