Great service and slightly hidden location. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is great. Menu has lots to offer and the flavours were good. Something on the menu for everyone, vegetarian and eating meat free for the meal alike!

I loved being able to choose literally ANYTHING on this menu! Plant based whole menu means you do not have to be selective when you are a vegan, yay! Also, suggest going during happy hour as it significantly cuts the cost of your bill down. Michael was an amazing server and helped by mentioning this fun fact (thank you Michael!) he was incredibly fun, and wonderful. He made the experience more enjoyable and made some excellent food recommendations. The restaurant has beautiful decor that you cannot help but enjoy as it is bright and airy. I truly enjoyed the experience, thank you so much, I will most definitely be returning.

I had a great dinner at Planta in Yorkville. Their happy hour menu makes the experience surprisingly affordable for the quality they deliver. Everything is fully plant-based, but unlike a lot of places in this category, nothing felt heavy, oily, or trying too hard to mimic meat. The stand-out for me was the Eggplant Nigiri. Perfect texture, clean flavor, and far better than most versions I've had at non-vegan spots. I also tried the bao, the fried mushroom hand roll, and a couple of small plates -- all well executed. The toffee pudding was a solid finish. Even the non-alcoholic "spill the tea" drink from the happy hour menu was refreshing without being sugary. Service was consistently attentive without hovering, and the ambience makes it easy to settle in for a relaxed meal. I'd definitely recommend Planta if you want plant-based food that's flavorful, balanced, and not weighed down with grease. Highly recommend.

I thought it opens at 11:30am but I guess I had to wait for a little bit. It doesn't help that it was freezing outside. The food was great and the staff were friendly. I really love the " beef " and broccoli with white rice on the side! Bang Bang broccoli is great as well. This was my second time here and I could come back again.

Fav parts of this restaurant were the mint lemonade w/ vodka and the sushi! The miso truffle mayo was so good, we ended up getting another order. Great service too, everything came out so quickly!

The Yorkville Planta is such a contrast to its other location on Queen! Open, spacious, and well lit compared to Queen which is more dark and moody (both lovely depending on what vibe you're looking for). Bathrooms are up stairs- so not accessible for everyone, but they're well lit. As for food: ALWAYS AMAZED. I enjoyed a mix of the happy hour menu on a warm Tuesday in June, and as well as their regular menu. The Eggplant Unagi was salty- forgo the soy sauce on this one! The Lettuce Wraps were lovely, the gochujang brussel sprouts were perfectly seasoned with a touch of crispness, it paired great with the tofu- which was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I cut the tofu in half to fit into the lettuce wraps better too. If you can sneak in during happy hour- the firecracker cauliflower is SO YUMMY. Service was quick and efficient, didn't have to wait for a table and the food came out in good timing.

Came here for a late lunch because my boss ate at a Planta in NY and said it was tasty. I am not a vegan, but I love trying new foods. Everything we got here was tasty, and I would get all dishes again except for the potatoes and one of the rolls. We got the Vietnamese iced coffee, the bao slider (mushroom), 1,000 layer crispy potatoes, bang bang broccoli, unagi eggplant nigiri, dragon roll, firecracker roll, and one of the May specials-cacio e pepe ramen. I loved how they seared the eggplant nigiri to give it that smoky flavor. From far away, it almost looked like fish which was a cute idea. I didn't love the firecracker roll (Japanese sweet potato), but I loved the dragon roll (tempura broccoli). The cacio e pepe ramen and the bang bang broccoli were the table favorites. The ramen dish was the largest and definitely great for sharing. Everything else was small like tapas size and the rolls had 8 pieces I think. Service was fast and friendly. My only reason for one less star is because vegan food is always expensive for what it is...vegetables. And even though the crispy potato dish was crispy outside and soft inside and I loved the "caviar" and how it looked real, it was a little bland. Needed salt or hot sauce. The vibe and decor inside is pretty hip and bougie, but I don't think you need to dress fancy to dine here. Wish Planta would open a location in the Bay Area. I think it would do really well there!

DIET or CHEAT? Verdict: Definitely Diet This restaurant is a culinary experience and indulgent wellness experience. I have to admit this is a constant favorite for my wife and I. We always leave here wanting to know "how tf they made that dish" The service was great like always and spite of the snowstorm that was going on that day. I asked the server in typical gym bro fashion what were the dishes with the most protein. He suggested the Japanese steak or any of the steaks that you add to salad. I decided to order the Japanese steak to try out. Let's talk about the steaks. It was phenomenal and juicy. It tasted very close to steak. Again, I have no idea how they made it. It was made of mushrooms and when you cut it, it separated like braised steak. It was incredible - I couldn't believe I wasn't eating real steak. The sweet potatoes were also a nice side dish to pair with the steak. The macros also seemed pretty healthy. I'd watch out for the fats because there appears to be a lot of grease on the plate, but very likely from this place that it's a very healthy plant-based oil. Also, the ambience was quite good. I'm a dude, but the environment looks like a Spanish cafe. Macros: Some of the proteins are laid out in the menu. The steak is definitely the most protein, but I think the chick'n is pretty close. Protein: 19g Carbs: ~35g-50g Fat: -20g? (I couldn't tell)

We stopped in to Planta Yorkville for lunch on a Friday. We both had the lunch for $28 special which includes a starter, main, and giant cookie. The food was delicious and the servings were big. We couldn't even come close to finishing our meals, never mind the cookie. I had the bao slider and lettuce wraps and my lunch mate had the dragon rolls and chick'n and waffles. The bao bun was so fluffy and fresh and the stuffing was flavourful and crispy. Arguably the best I've had. The dragon rolls were also delicious and fresh. The lettuce wraps came with Brussel sprouts, tofu, cilantro and pickled ginger in and spicy and sweet sauce. The chick'n was fried mushrooms on a cornbread waffle. Huge and delicious. The restaurant itself is quite charming and the service was great. Highly recommend.

Great drinks and service, food was just ok! I really wanted to like PLANTA more than I did. We were part of an event booking with a set menu and everything was lacking flavour or just not hitting the mark. I had the lych please and herb your enthusiasm and both drinks were 10/10! Personally, I don't like the texture or flavour of cashew cheese and this was in both the pizza (which wasn't that bad, it was used sparingly, didn't do much for the pizza anyway) and the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was ok, chips were good but the dip just seemed overly acidic, nothing special. The thousand layer potatoes were pleasant, not the best potato pave I've had but not bad! The stuffed mushrooms were pretty good, kind of tasted very similar to the spinach artichoke dip, which is disappointing when you're paying $75 a head for the food alone! The pizza was decent, good crust and pesto had good flavour. The pasta was lacking in flavour, just tasted very plain and not spicy at all. The bang bang broccoli was probably my favourite, good peanut / chili sauce but the batter made the broccoli really hard as it sat. The lettuce wraps were average, gochujang was nice but overall it just didn't have the punch you'd expect! The dessert felt very much like the frozen desserts you get from Costco and thaw to serve.

This is my first vegan experience in Toronto! The location in Yorkville was lovely and beautiful. There is even a larger room for large events. The location is confidently right across the Bay Street Station. We decided to go during their Happy Hour brunch on a Wednesday. The waiters were very helpful and nice and gave us great recommendations from the menu, some we had to order because they were very popular and get sold out very easily, like the Bang Bang Broccoli dish. The Torch and Press was really good especially with the miso truffle glaze on top. The 1000 layer crispy potatoes was pleasantly and surprisingly delicious with the coconut sour cream and vegan caviar on top. For the mains, I decided to go with the Avocado Lime Tartare whereas my friends got the burger. Be prepared - the burger is massive! Overall, the experience is amazing and happy to go back for more!

Toronto. Seems upscale vegan place but service is extremely slow. One server for the whole restaurant and after she took our drink order she forgot us. Everyone around us ordering and eating and we can't get our order taken. The men's restroom needs attention. The urinals are disgusting. Not sure why because I see almost as many men as I do women, but you have to hold your breath when you use it. The food was good my wife and mom said, both having vegan lunch. Me I was there for a beer and the truffle fries. Very disappointed in the fries. Many inedible because of hardness, and three of us picked at it (large bowl, and only one of us tasted truffle oil. I was eating from all over the bowl but I think the drops were dead center. Maybe two, three drops at best. Come to my house. I make truffle fries too. Truffle oil and pieces. I wanted my vegan wife to have a good meal in a foreign city, it was worth at least the four rating because she and mom said it was fine, and yummy. Service and fries for me - 1

**ATTENTION** THIS IS AN ALL VEGAN RESTAURANT My husband and I were looking for a bite to eat after a long travel morning and we happened upon Planta. Based on the name I thought it was a healthy chose and the yelp pictures looked like they had some good options. We were surprised when we found out EVERYTHING on the menu is Vegan. I mean, it says tuna, but it's made of beets. There is also bacon...made of mushroom? We were staving so we gave it a shot. The french fries were pretty good - need a little extra truffle but the sauce was savory. And the no-noodle lasagna had some good taste to it. Not usually our vibe, but for vegan food it was pretty good. All together it was about $40 US so a but expensive for no meat, but Toronto isn't a cheap city lol. Service was good and it's a very modern contemporary ambiance. All in all, a good choice if you want a light meal and you are into vegan options.

As an Asian fusion restaurant, I always come curious to see what new ideas the chef has come up with. The last two Summerlicious menus disappointed me a little--they felt a bit uninspired, with dishes like the vegetable curry and croquette. This year, however, the creativity is back, and I'd happily recommend Lee's Summerlicious menu again. Fried Wild Cod The crispy cod is served in an edible crispy rice basket, making it feel like sharing bread at the start of the meal. The fish is fried perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist, flaky interior. Paired with Thai sweet chili sauce, it's light, flavorful, and great for sharing. Gazpacho Picante A refreshing take on gazpacho. The avocado gives it a smoother texture, while the hint of spice adds another layer without overpowering the chilled tomato soup. Refreshing and a great appetizer. BBQ Jerk Pork Ribs Three generous ribs--almost a main course on their own. The meat is tender while still retaining a bit of bite, similar to the texture of slow-cooked jerk chicken. The jerk seasoning is excellent, coating every bite with rich, aromatic spices. Pan Roasted Salmon The salmon is beautifully cooked with a nicely caramelized exterior while remaining juicy inside. Each accompaniment brings something different: the olive tapenade is deeply savory, the parsnip purée is smooth and slightly sweet, the lima bean adds a creamy, nutty richness, and the lemon-tomato-pepper vinaigrette brightens everything with acidity and a gentle kick. Lima Bean Succotash Probably the prettiest dish on the menu--and also the most unusual. The lima beans and peas are cooked until tender without becoming mushy. The flavors are layered, but there's a subtle bitterness throughout. After asking the chef, we learned it's the natural flavor of lima beans and was intentionally preserved as part of the dish. Fried Organic Chicken The fried chicken is juicy and tender, reminding me of Japanese karaage. It comes with two fun sauces: one is rich and spicy with a hint of coconut, while the other is a sweet pineapple-lime mayo that pairs surprisingly well with the chicken. The pandan rice, however, was fairly ordinary. The desserts are still classic Lee--beautifully plated, but the flavors are more restrained. We tried the Rhubarb Almond Frangipane Tart, Lemon Mousse Panna Cotta (our favorite), and Strawberry Raspberry Monkey Bread. This year's Summerlicious reminded me why I fell in love with Lee in the first place.

The general manager and server warmly greeted us and checked up on us several times. The way they took care of us throughout the meal felt like a friend who was personally hosting us in their home. They also took the time to really explain each dish and how to best enjoy it, which I appreciated. Overall, the food definitely didn't disappoint. As someone who is sensitive to salt, I was most impressed by how every dish was perfectly seasoned (not over-seasoned with salt, sugar, and msg). Each dish tasted carefully crafted to let the ingredients shine. Betel Leaf - super fresh and aromatic flavours, really wakes up the taste buds. This is a small bite though so it's gone quick. Mushroom Dumplings - my understanding is that this is a seasonal vegetarian item but it deserves a place on the permanent menu. This was hands-down the best dish of the night. I will dream about and salivate over this dish. The brown butter sauce on the mushroom filling in the dumpling (almost like a ravioli), and truffle + cheese... my gosh, it's a flavor explosion! So decadent and rich, and seasoned to perfection. We licked the plate clean - it was THAT good. Sweet & Sour Pork Hock - the pork was so tender and soft. Again, seasoned well and very balanced. The pickled radish and peppers cut through the fat nicely between bites. I wish there were more of those radish pieces! Octopus Tacos - really smoky and well-cooked octopus, and interesting textures! I was not expecting the shell/wrap to be a vegetable! I enjoyed it and the dish felt lighter/healthier. Big Mac Bao - honestly, save your money on this one. It was good but it's exactly what you'd expect? Tastes like a Big Mac with a Bao bun rather than a regular bun. I just don't understand why someone would order this for $11 and it's pretty small. Duck Bokkeum - this was interesting! As a Korean, I appreciated the Korean twist. The duck was cooked textbook and everything was well-executed. I just don't think I'm a smoked duck person. I like Peking duck. I felt like the smokiness was a little overpowering for my own preferences and I got a little tired of the flavor after several bites. That said, the vegetables on this dish are superb and add great dimension and textures! If you like smoked duck, try it! If you're not a fan, save the $62 and spend it on something else! Aloe Sake Sorbet - a beautiful finish and palate cleanser to a wonderful meal. Very refreshing. You can taste both the sake and the aloe. We were a group of 6 and had a family-style dinner. We ordered 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts. It was the perfect amount. Every dish was unique and enjoyable. The flavours and textures were impressive, we truly enjoyed our dinning experience. For starters, we got the carpaccio (tasted like pho), fried watermelon (crispy and juicy), eggplant burrata (very nice pairing), octopus taco (my favourite!). For mains, we got the chicken, duck, lamb, truffle fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The lamb and duck were my personal favourite. I also love all the different pairings it came with on the side. A small note, I changed my reservation from 4 people to 6 an hour before dinner. And was told for party of 5+, the $125 per person tasting menu is required. This threw me off, but the manager Jeff was really nice and gave us an exception. They also offer complimentary still and sparkling water. The washroom is located in the basement level. The service is in line with a high end restaurant - plates changed between courses, napkins fold when you step away, dishes explained, etc. Overall, great experience and I will come back.

Shrimp toast: fun, good texture, could taste the oiliness stronger than I expected. Paired well with the emulsion. Fun guo: super tasty, quite greasy though. I typically don't order fun guo but the texture was a delight to eat. Pork & crab siu mai: this felt like it lacked identity, not really sure I saw the vision. It just felt like curry on a siu mai lol Iberico cha siu: beautiful cut, perfectly tender, good savouriness, no complaints. R&D fried rice: my biggest letdown. Maybe my expectations were set to high. For a house special, I would expect a solid crowd-pleaser. Having each bite feeling mostly like 'crunch' is not what I think of as fried rice nor a favourite for most people. My ideal fried rice focuses on the grains of rice, with substantial bite and flavour in each spoonful. The flavour was most definitely there, don't get me wrong but it was extremely hard to eat more than a bowl. The redeeming qualities were in the flavour and cute little mushroom garden concept. If they had maybe 2x the amount of rice for the ratio of toppings and crunch, I would say this is a delicious and near perfect fried rice. Not bad, but a hefty price tag for a meal that I had really high hopes for.

I was very happy with the blend of flavors which worked harmoniously. All the dishes were well executed and innovative on the palette, so this was a meal that was well worth the visit. Crispy Sprouts Salad - Fibermaxxing salad with leaves two ways; the crispy brussels add a smoky char, while the mixed greens add a fresh bite. Kingston Calamari - Intriguing batter that is crisp on the outside, but then quickily becomes eggy and soft on the bite; love the cocktail sauce pairing that adds a subtle Jamaican heat. Jamaican Oxtail - Deliciously tender oxtail that falls right off the bone to go with the rice, the chive and fried garlic are a nice subtle garnish. Popcorn Shrimp Fried Rice - Good execution of the dish, which has that heaty smokiness infused into the rice from the wok; the chinese broccoli adds texture two ways, while the tobiko adds a delightfully petite saline burst to the bite. Belly Buss Platter Sides - In addition to the above, there was a side of a loose, mayo-forward traditional cabbage slaw that was very nice to balance the heaviness of the rest of the meal, and the spice that was coming from the smashed cucumber salad. Then, corn bread paired well with the jerk butter and herb garlic spread. The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.
