Very lovely park workers are pretty chill. I live in the neighborhood that this park is in and I'm always riding my bike there. It's beautiful and definitely recommended for parties or taking a nice stroll or bike ride.

Surprisingly unknown large county park near the waterways of Plantation Isles. Perfect place to celebrate by renting a pavilion or throw a tent or blanket down to do your own thing. A handful of good size festivals are held here and different times of the year they do a food truck village for local residents to mingle. Another lesser known fact is the park serves as a sanctuary for a large population of the endangered burrowing owl. If you grew up in this county, you're very familiar with the tiny, judgmental species of owl. Newly built exercise pavilion and remodeled playgrounds. Last but not least, this park houses a full 18-hole disc golf course. If you time it right, you have free roam to play or compete.

What better Yelpy way to celebrate Earth Day than reviewing my latest park discovery? Oh, probably adding a picnic with food from a local vegan/vegetarian biz! Honestly, discovering local parks is one of my favorite Broward things to do. There are the bigger Regional parks with most of them having entrance fees on the weekends and then there are smaller parks in the nooks and crannies of our community! Plantation Heritage Park lands somewhere in the middle. There is no entrance fee both at any time. They have pavilions for celebrations or a nature trail (Anne Kolb) so you can celebrate the great outdoors in many ways. The park is laid out with a one way road rounding the whole park. There is a lot of signage to help you know where each pavilion is and parking along the way. I decided to come here to celebrate both Earth day and National Picnic Day dining with my laptop in a pavilion. Working in parks might just be my new favorite thing (thank you Hot Spot!) I'm excited to come back and check out the nature trail next time I stop by. Happy Earth Day!

10-23-21 Afternoon Plant Affair First time going to this park for a plant show that my friend read about. Upon entering you pay admission to enter the park so take that into consideration when going to a show here. Several small vendors with plants and maybe just one selling water. So if you go to an event here plan accordingly as the heat of South Florida will dehydrate you quickly. Bought several plants and herbs. Lucky that it is walkable park as I made several trips back to the car with my purchases. There was another plant show held here today 9-10-22 but I passed as I just hit my local nursery yesterday so all good now for plants. Great local park if you live in the area so you can go to a nice green space in town.

Lake at Heritage Park. Good quiet place to meditate or walk during the weekdays.

Heritage Park is a large park in East Plantation. I had never been, but yesterday, I stopped in to explore. I was surprised how large it was and how many pavilions it had. There were people exercising with their dogs and walking, as well as just chilling around the lake, which was quite beautiful. I also noted the park has an outdoor work out area with equipment similar to the one at Treetops. This park would be a good place to ride a bike, or have a picnic or just read a book. Bathrooms were clean as well. Not a ton of shade- similar to CB Smith in that sense but lots of pavilions to sit in to get some shade during the week when they aren't rented.

Plantation Heritage Park is 88.5 acres that was once an agricultural experimentation station. You can still see the rare fruit trees from Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean in the tropical fruit grove. There is also duck ponds and lakes. My favorite part of the park was watching all of the remote control sailboats on the lake. I also met two geese who were not shy. Apparently they are used to being pampered because the minute I stopped to take a picture they came running up to me. The expected to be fed for their modeling fee. Also in the park is the Anne Kolb Memorial Trail named after former Broward County Commissioner and environmental champion, Anne Kolb, The trail has a tropical hardwood hammock, pine flatwoods, and a coastal strand forest. I was looking forward to hiking the trail but unfortunately it was closed. Other park amenities include a 1.25 mile fitness trail, 18 hole disc golf course, fishing pier, gazebo, marina with paddle boat rental, picnic pavilions, 2 playgrounds, and the fountain room that can be rented for events and meetings. There is so much recreation in this park. The normal weekend entrance is $1.50 but the fee is currently waived due to the closure of some of the amenities. There is still plenty to enjoy here though.

This was a convenient and quiet park near multiple restaurants so I was able to stop for a quick relaxing lunch break. It has an exercising station with tons of fixed exercise equipment, it has shelters you can rent for special occasions, they have it has a playground area, and golf course. There are also a special designated areas where you are not allowed to go that are taped off to protect the owl population, a quick trail that you can walk around for exercise, lmultiple benches and picnic areas. There are also birdhouses perch up high and a beautiful lake with a water feature. And let's not forget plenty of trees to keep shaded from the hot Florida sun. It was a nice visit.

This is a great park for picnicking/bbq ing, they have paddle boats, a play park for kids, a great track for walking and jogging & more. They even have an ice cream machine by the restrooms. Unfortunately the grass is a little dry and brown right now.

Had my sons 1st birthday party here and shelter 6 was a total hit. It was right in front of a play ground which was perfect because I Did not have a bouncy house but ALL the kids of ALL ages were entertained with the park. They do have strict rules and one of them Was a bummer. I wanted to have a music teacher come out but their rules are no bands. So she couldn't sing nor use a guitar. So I couldn't do that. But other than that the place was great. Clean and beautiful park. You do have to pay $1.50 pp. to get in They also offer military discount.

BBQ grill makes delicious hot dogs and hamburgers.

We went to a picnic held at Plantation Heritage Park. Clyde and I stopped at the entrance to pay the entrance fee. They charge on weekends and holidays. We didn't know which shelter our group was at. Since we were meeting a large group I thought the attendant at the entrance might know where our group was. Not any help there. I was told they didn't know and we would have to look for them. Didn't they have to reserve their shelter in advance? We drove around the picnic area until we spotted a large group of people. We pulled over and recognized a few people we knew. Parking was not a problem. The covered shelter had wood benches and wood picnic tables. A few people had brought their own chairs. In the back hot dogs and hamburgers were being barbecued on the grill. They smelled so good. One of the picnic tables was set up with salads, side dishes, desserts, and much more. The picnic area was very nice. Grounds appeared to be clean and well maintained. There were several trails for walking and biking. I didn't get to see everything, but I'm told that there's a lake, a gazebo, rare tropical fruit trees, and a playground. A big plus is that this park is pet friendly.

Great park. Plenty of clean pavilions and playgrounds. Also have frisbee golf course. Great place for taking photos or just relaxing. Love going here to walk and clear my mind. Plenty of parking near playgrounds and pavilions. Also don't forget food trucks on Tuesday evenings!

This was our first time attending this food truck round up. I've seen it advertised in the past but finally got the opportunity to visit. It had about 8 trucks. My main reason was for HipPops. We always look to see where they are going to pop up. Of course it didn't disappoint. I wish there were more trucks to choose from. We got the corn on the cob and lobster roll. Both very tasty. Will hope to visit this park again on a different occasion to check out other amenities.

Heritage Park is a great park for birthday parties, community picnics, family reunions, etc. It has lots of nice pavilions with tables and grills (rental fee on weekends), large open fields for games, conveniently placed restroom facilities, and 3 or 4 good sized canopy-shaded playgrounds. Paddle boats for the large lake at the center of the park can be rented for a reasonable fee. Some of the pavilions have horseshoe pits, and the kids were having a blast using them for soccer when I was there. The park also has a disc golf course, and tons of people were playing this new-to-me game the day I was there. The park has a nice, looped, paved walking/jogging trail, which is why I last visited. I'd guess it's around 2 miles long. Almost none of the trail is shaded, so know that before you go on a hot, sunny day. Don't bother visiting the Ann Kolb nature trail. It's terribly overgrown and the mosquitos are vicious!!! I was there on a cooler, December day and got 20 bites in 3 minutes. No visit to Heritage Park is complete without a visit to "The Duck Pond." This tiny spot across Peters Road from the rest of the park is a Plantation historical site. I first visited it as a kid more than 40 years ago. The gazebo onsite was the Peters' family outdoor kitchen before Plantation was Plantation, when this founding family family lived on what is now Heritage Park. It's the oldest structure in the city.

Plenty of parking and heavy foliage hiking trails with blacktop walking areas too. No pets are permitted on nature center grounds - assume since wildlife may devour a small dog, not sure. Other signs advise pets permitted by park permit only, but does not indicate on the posts about service dogs - kind of confusing. They provide guided nature walks through the park which seems like a fun tranquil activity for people with good knees and a decent pair of binoculars. The far west side of the park provides beautiful views of the New River and small critters like crabs along the waters edge.
