Don't get me wrong, this is a very cute cafe and plant shop but I was very turned off by some of the exorbitant prices of the flower arrangements they had on display. $225 for a relatively simple arrangement with a simple vase?? Is that a joke?! At that point it's just gauging, predatory and gross. Especially on Mother's Day. I mean, I get it. We live in a capitalistic society but that is just plain offensive and I sincerely hope no one was in such a pinch that they facilitated any further justification of these ludicrous prices. I have two loves, one being coffee and the other is greenery. This place puts both of those loves together and I couldn't be more happy. I've had my eye on this place when it first opened as I get most of my plants from their original store on 96th. I finally made my way to this cafe and I'm glad I did. The store is spilt up into two, one side is the plant store and the other side is the cafe. They serve coffee from Toby's Estate which I love so that really helped but the barista made my oat milk latte perfectly. There isn't a lot of seating in the cafe but I managed to snag a small table. The atmosphere was very nice and seeing the plants all over the place made me very happy. The cafe also had a nice pastry selection but I didn't get one, maybe next time I'll try it out. I would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing plant and a cup of coffee. read more

My friend brought me here after learning that I love Toby's Coffee. It's a beautiful, cozy cafe and flower shop that manages to do both well! On the cafe side, a decent amount of seating with a large variety of drinks and pastries (the coffee they have here is Toby's) and while a little expensive, kind of what you would expect for the area. Staff are very friendly and made our drinks quickly. Although there was no where inside to sit (like any coffee shop in NYC it's packed to the gills) they have a nice bench outside that we took advantage of. We didn't get any plants but, they seem to have a large variety although again- quite expensive even for a small succulent. Overall, if I'm in the area I would come back for the cafe- probably not for the florist shop. read more

Bought for the second time a bouquet there, and the next day the flower were rotten... at the price of the bouquet they should really hold fresher flowers. I would absolutely recommend the Indoor Plant Care 101 session at PlantShed. It's more of a conversation rather than a sit down class and that was awesome! The teachers were friendly, knowledgeable and funny. They were so patient with the questions we all had. It was a very small group, so lots of time to chat and meet other plant lovers. There was a great cheese plate too! The plant we potted and took home as part of the class is thriving and came in a beautiful pot as well. I'll be back for other classes for sure. I'm digging the new trend of hipsterified plant shops that serve great coffee. The plants make for great ambiance and the Joe was on point. E had an oat milk latte because she's basic and I had a cap. Really great quality espresso pulls with nice crema. Milk was perfect temperature and well steamed. The drinks were very well made and service was prompt and friendly. They had a bunch of nice looking pastries too but sadly we passed. Reason to come back. read more

This place is so cute and the drinks are decent. But the service and prices aren't great. I came in a half an hour before they closed to grab a tea. The tea was great quality, definitely worth a little extra but it was almost 5 dollars for a 12oz (really a 9oz considering my cup wasn't filled). That's fine, it's NYC, I get it. I wouldnt pay that much for their tea again. But no big deal. However our barista was rude. I ordered my tea and the cashier said it would be five minutes to let it steep. She is Immediately glared at by her barista and starts to retract that statement. But before she can finish, he cuts in with "we are no longer doing to stay." Okay whatever. At this point it's still more than 25 minutes before closing. Odd policy, and I am a little annoyed. Then as I get my tea, he says, "just to let you know we are closing in 15 minutes" literally 30 seconds after he made it clear we weren't supposed to stay in. And, it was still 25 minutes before they were closing! Clearly he was trying to get us out ASAP so he could clean up/leave early. Pretty rude. Then as we are leaving, he throws us a snarky "have a good night." Like we personally offended him. Finally, as we are walking home my partner noticed that her drink was mostly ice, essentially having only sips for a $6.50 drink. Overall, very disappointed with the experience and sad that this cute shop will not be a stop again. read more

This place is the best - both for flowers/plants and coffee/pastries! On the plant side, they have patiently given me very useful (free) lessons on caring for my plants, and have even gifted my 2 year old a rose on several occasions. Their plants are beautiful, and they really know how to care for them. On the coffee side, they serve Toby's Estate (which is great) and they're baristas are well trained (and even compete in barista competitions). They have a large assortment of pastries, including vegan and gluten free options, and plenty of non-dairy milk options too. They have nice seating, WI-FI, and their baristas are very friendly (on a first name basis with my 2 year old). I highly recommend this place. read more

Disappointing on many levelsI took great care to take a large bamboo plant to store that apparently was suddenly sick after years of healthy growth, no change in environment, etc. What could be wrong?. I listened to three experts at store, followed their instructions including paying $$ for a repot. One week later results 6-7 stalks dead, 1 dead by tomorrow = 1 stalk left. Called store today to discuss transaction. No support. I was told I should have taken pictures so they could assessThe lady on the phone could have cared less. Moral of story - retailer that does not trust you without pics to prove your claims=DO NOT trust that retailer to be an expert in the service and care of plants. It would have cost them $2 to make this right. Bamboo sprouts are not costly. ....A case of sometimes you can't see the forest through the trees. I rate this business a minus star. read more
