I brought my almost 4 year old daughter to Plaster Carousel Fun Painting over the weekend. We decided on picking out a piece of ceramic for Father's Day. They had a few different options available for Father's Day. My daughter picked out the "Super Dad" license plate. We sat at a table that had an assortment of paint colors. As we didn't have our own paint brushes, we paid $5 for a pack of paint brushes. My daughter had a great time painting. She already picked out the next ceramic she wants to paint. Not sure what happened to this place. Today is 8/1. Last time I was there was November of last year. It's been a few months. Back in November, around half of the items on display had a prototype already painted which helped the kids copy. Also prices started at $10 and went up. Plenty of options below $30. But today not the case. There only like 4 items colored as a prototype. And the prices are crazy expensive. Most are $38 and up. There were hardly anything for $25 and those were pretty tiny pieces. A couple for $32. With 4 kids, I paid $150. That's insanely expensive. For $160 I could have taken them to Kennedy space center (FL resident offer for $160 for 4). Also it was a bit hard to find something we wanted to color. On some items, it says made in Taiwan, so there is no way those pieces are expensive to get. I was under the impression before they were hand made locally. But seems not the case. I'm not going back there. Too bad. It's just too expensive read more

I've been here a few times and every time I'm here my kids love it. Tonight I was here with a group of Dads & Daughters from the Indian Princess program. He had about 45 total there tonight. Our daughters painted their ceramic pieces and the dads assisted the younger daughters. We were able to bring in pizza & drinks. The staff was super friendly and helpful with the kids. Awesome place! Staff is so so friendly and it was so fun. They don't fire the pottery after you paint so you get to take it home immediately. But I do notice that the paint is rather tacky, even weeks later, and doesn't have the same shine compared to if it was fired. I painted a jar with a lid and the lid tends to get stuck and the paint comes off a little. I'm too scared to actually put anything in the jar in fear of ruining the paint further. Pro: you get to take your pottery home immediately, Con: you lose all the benefits of firing and end up with tacky fragile paint. But overall, I think it was a great experience and would return. I'll just get a decorative piece instead of something I plan to utilize. read more

My friend and I had been talking about painting crafts for so long, and finally were able to have a little "girl's day" here. We loved it. There are a TON of figures to choose from, within a wide range of price points, and the staff is super friendly. We went on a weekend, and there were a lot of people there, but there is a lot of seating, so it wasn't uncomfortable at all. When we finished painting, there are actually different finishes you can choose for your creation, and I chose a shimmery one, which I thought made it extra special. There's a reason this place has stayed open for so long...amazing customer service. Took 2 little girls I was caring for here last week just for something to do. The owner Scott treated us like we were his only customers, which we were not. Also considering it was 3pm on a Thursday they were pretty busy. And I was the only person who had kids with me so its not just a "kid" place. Big selection of things to paint and nice environment to spend the afternoon. The staff will help you if you need it but otherwise just hang out and paint! I found this more enjoyable than a movie or another indoor activity because you get a chance to talk and bond. I have loved this place since I was a little girl...it is an original special crafting space. Over the years, other chains have attempted to recreate this gem, but do not come close. I recently visited Coral Springs and was especially excited to bring my kids here to share in this crafting magic. Not only do they have a wonderful selection of ceramic figurines to paint but unlike other places who try and upsell on sitting fees and supplies, Plaster Carousel includes this in their experience and what they do upsell, they do at a reasonable price and selection. After we left, my daughter lost her ring there. My husband gave the owner his phone number and asked to call us if it was found. We were not expecting much of the interaction, but after four days they called us and informed us that found the ring. It had been bent from falling under a bench, but the team there reshaped it back into place. Not only did they keep my husband's number and remember us, but they took the time to call us and reshape the ring back to shape. As someone who has worked in customer service for nearly 20 years, I was beyond impressed with the level of customer service and genuine goodness of this family and their business. It was not only a truly special experience, but my kids also painted some adorable pieces (a gum ball machine and little girl) and fun was had by all. We will be back on our next visit!!! read more
