Stopped by Platform 909 on a Sunday around 3 PM to check it out since I was craving a matcha drink. I ordered the banana matcha latte, and they accidentally made the wrong drink first. Instead of tossing it, they offered the butterscotch latte for free, which I really appreciated. Mistakes happen, but the way they handled it made for a great customer service experience. The banana matcha latte was really good, smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like my matcha. The butterscotch latte wasn't my favorite because it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but if you have a sweet tooth, you'll probably enjoy it. They also have pastries and cookies, however I didn't get to The ambiance is definitely one of the highlights. The café has a cozy industrial vibe with exposed brick walls, warm lighting, and cute decor that makes it feel inviting. There are plenty of tables by the windows, a cozy back room that's quieter, and several spots that would be perfect for studying, working, catching up with friends, or even a casual coffee date. It has a relaxed atmosphere where you can easily spend a couple of hours. Overall, the drinks were solid, the customer service was thoughtful, and the space is somewhere I'd come back to try other drinks and sweets. My gfs a die hard Harry Potter fan so, I brought her here for coffee and to read. We were greeted and ordered a brown shaken espresso with almond milk, bacon avocado toast and a vanilla espresso. Customers came in and ordered after us and they I got my food. We were waiting for our drinks and noticed people who came after us were already getting their drink so, my gf went over to ask for ours and it seems like they forgot. The other barista went to reprint our order and we eventually got our drinks. I've worked at a bar and I understand having customers come in and forgetting an order but they didn't even acknowledge their mistake or apology. We got our drinks and all you taste is milk, you can't taste any coffee. They refunded the vanilla espresso and I just kept my shaken espresso. The avocado toast is delicious. read more

I have been to Platform 909 a handful of times, and 3 out of the 2 have been disappointing I've ordered the banana match each time & the first time was great, which is why I went back! The 2nd time was horrible, the 3rd visit was great and the 4th & 5th visit... horrible. The drinks are inconsistent, I like a matcha to taste like matcha - while the drinks that were disappointing tasted just like milk. Platform 909 is located off the freeway about 8 mins away from the Chino Hills Shoppes. They share a small parking lot with other businesses but I was lucky enough to locate a parking right outside the entrance last Saturday when I visited. The coffee shop was a decent size and had quite a few people there for brunch. Their sandwiches actually looked delicious, but since I had already ate, I just ordered their Cookie Butter Latte and a Chocolate Chip cookie. The Latte was a bit too sweet for me so I give it a 5/10. The cookie was pretty good - 7/10. There were 4 people working behind the counter and felt their customer service could be better. I came back to grab a drink while I waited to order dinner at the sushi shop two stores down. I asked the employee what's the most popular matcha drinks and he recommended the one with banana foam or strawberry foam. I decided to go with banana. Ill give it to them, their matcha latte is good. The sweetness level was right, extra ice level was just enough, matcha flavor stood out but not too bitter, and no milky aftertaste. I enjoyed the banana foam on top, too. There's this restaurant in Irvine that has good matcha latte, but its nice to know I won't have to drive that far to get a good matcha drink. Be aware, you'll be paying over $8 for a matcha drink here, but its a nice indulgent. I will definitely come back to try coffee or coconut drink and food items next time. I heard their coconut is made inhouse so im wondering what that's about. read more

First time trying this place and it's cozy and comfortable. Everything on the menu looked good. I got a Strawberry Matcha Latte, an egg and bacon bagel and Oreo crepe cake. The strawberry matcha latte is silky, sweet just enough with the strawberry purée as a perfect touch. Definitely would order this again. I also tried the Cookie Butter latte - also amazing as well! The bagel sandwich is fresh, tasty and more than enough for me. The bagel was toasted perfectly, the cheese and the cream cheese spread on top was the perfect amount of creaminess. As a bacon lover I would have loved more bacon, personally, haha. The Oreo crepe cake was phenomenal, almost like a tres leche type, it was so good! All in all, I will definitely be back. My only bit of advice is maybe getting cups with their logo on it but seeing how packed it was on a Sunday makes me think they may not need the additional press! Amazing overall! read more

This is a cute, cozy coffee shop located inside a plaza behind a bank, so there is plenty of parking around. They have a decent amount of seating inside, and various tables for you to have a small group study session or coffee catch up with a friend. Service was okay, could be better on ensuring their tables are cleaner since I had to clean my table of the crumbs the previous customer left and there is only one bathroom. Regarding the menu, the prices are good for the drinks, but it is okay for the food. I ordered: -Basil Pesto Chicken Panini- Delicious, but it would have been great to have something like kettle chips and not the nacho and cheese kind. -Banana Pecan Latte- perfect amount of sweetness with the banana and the pecan makes the coffee not bitter. I enjoyed their banana bread latter hence the 1 star rating. However the service unfortunately is why this review is so low. I initially ordered 1 chicken panini, when the person handing out food called my name I of course went up to grab my food. She handed me two and kept insisting it was my order. After being on our LAST bite the lady comes out running to us saying we took someone's order. How is that possible if we were handed the food. My boyfriend went up to cashier because we were told to pay for the additional food. He explained the situation in whole to the cashier and she rung him up after he taps his card we are told " you didn't have to" The paninis aren't cheap $15.50. Very disappointed that we weren't even offered a refund for the additional sandwich. Cute Harry Potter inspired coffee shop in Chino Hills. The brown sugar shaken espresso less sweet is my go to drink. Their drinks tend to be a little too sweet for my liking, so I like that I can adjust the sweetness. My husband's go to is the Spanish latte less sweet. The only drink I'd give a pass on is the chai, it tasted like diluted cinnamon water sadly. But the coffee is good and will continue to order that. A great treat if you're in the area. read more

ICED BANANA PECAN LATTE: On point. Not too sweet and just the right amount of foam and they even put actual pecans in the drink. I knew it would have a tad of sweetness but I don't like it when places overpower it with added syrup and sugar. This was perfect! CHICKEN PESTO PANINI: Hot, generous portion of cheese, chicken and filling. Can't complain. I would swap out the tortilla chips with something else however. I'd rather have some fresh fruit or side of potato salad. But I get it. I'm a business owner and I know all about "costs" lol. And they have desserts too!!! Love this coffee shop. All the workers are nice and it's quiet, calm and clean. No homeless using the restroom like Starbucks and no overpriced Latte's for $12.00. The vibe here is chill and relaxing. A cute little coffee shop tucked away in Chino Hills. Seems like a great place to relax, catch up with a friend, read a book, or even do some work on your laptop. Met up with two of my girlfriends here on a weekend around the holidays and I would say it was a pretty decent choice! We were greeted upon entering, and the workers seemed very friendly. I ordered the lavender haze latte as well as the grilled cheese sandwich that came with chips on the side. The latte was lovely, but I wasn't too sure if I could taste any lavender. Thank goodness for it though, because I don't think I would've been able to stomach the sandwich alone. To echo some other reviewers, I think the potato chips with nacho cheese on top of an already salty entrée (cheese on cheese) was a little too much for me personally. The grilled cheese sandwich itself had three different types of cheese. I felt like I could literally feel the water retention building while eating it. If we could maybe switch it out for something a little bit on the lighter i.e. some kind of side vegetables/fruit, it would be perfect. Overall, the atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable, especially for a small groups of friends! There was one big table in the back that would probably seat a study group. The shop is so cute and well decorated with lots of sitting areas and comfy chairs. They have a bigger table in the back for study groups. It's pretty quiet in the restaurant even when it's busy, so I think it would be a good place for studying.They also have food available sandwiches and pastries. I actually wasn't suppose to come here but the spot I was going to go do my homework at was waaayyy to crowded and when looking for another spot this one popped up and I'm so glad it did! You can kind of see in my picture there's a hallway and after that hallway is a rectangular table and a small high top table that was a bit more dim lit for ppl doing homework but it was full when I got there. Then they have some tables in the regular area and then some outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and honestly the ambiance was on point. The basil pesto chicken panini was good, it came with a side of chips and some nacho cheese dip which at first threw me off but honestly it was pretty good, the nacho cheese does have a hint of spice (not too spicy for me at all) but in case spice isn't for you. The banana matcha latte was good, I did get mine with oatmilk and I'm not sure if that added to how creamy it was but it was creamy, and I did enjoy the banana foam as it honestly wasn't too sweet which I love because I always get nervous since they usually are really sweet, and the almond croissant was good as well but I'm a sucker for one so I might be bias. As for how busy it was, I was there on Saturday between 1pm-3pm, when I first arrived it wasn't busy really but I noticed as I sat down they were in and out of small rushes but nothing too crazy, as for parking, it is in a parking structure so honestly there's a lot of parking. This is one of my go to spots for coffee or breakfast. Love how they have quality coffee as well as boba drinks if that's what our mind desires that day. Service is great, place is comfortable and quiet to study or work. Too bad they don't have Almond Milk Tea anymore but I typically order their Lattes anyways. This time I ordered their Lavender latte which was good and not extremely milky or sweet. Breakfast croissantwich- croissant is very good and soft. Egg is fluffy. I order this every time, but overall it's typically very buttery and cheesy. If you like cheese and sauce, this is for you. I never leave reviews but WOW this place blew our expectations out of the window. We traveled about 30 minutes to try Platform 909 and we are so glad we did. It is a little pricy but so so worth the money. For two sandwiches and two large matches we spent $48. I would have no problem paying that again for the quality we received. Came here for popcorn chicken but that's not on the menu anymore. Got the matcha latte with strawberry puree which was tasty. Matcha flavor was light. Strawberry puree contained bits of real strawberry. Also got a grilled cheese for my kid. It came with tortilla chips and a little cup of nacho cheese. The kid was excited about that and ate that first. Grilled cheese was not too oily on the outside and cheese was very melted and stringy.
