I used to love Dirty Penguin, but I felt like it hasn't been up-kept as of recently. I visited today, a Friday afternoon, and just overall the cafe felt a bit musty than I remember. I ordered a matcha latte with agave, which sounds pretty simple to me. But the latte was DISGUSTING. Nothing like matcha at all. Also found it interesting how they stuck a table in the middle of the (former) children's play area. Not sure who's going to walk through the playhouse to sit there. Tables and chairs were kinda just everywhere. There's a lot more board games now available, which is nice, and they were displaying some art on the counters. But I just feel like it's not a spot conducive for working or studying anymore, which I think is the main reason why people stay at cafes. Just felt kinda awkward and a bit messy. The furniture is wearing down too. I see they're hopping on the matcha trend and offering different flavors of matcha, but if that's the case, a better matcha powder is quintessential. I couldn't even take more than one sip of my matcha though. I haven't retried the food, but hoping they've kept up with that. This used to be a really solid spot, but with all the new competition popping up, I think it's time for a revamp for this penguin.

This cafe shop have changed over the years since it first opened. They carry various tea and coffee along with breakfast. This shop offers vegan options. The service is awesome and the staff is helpful and friendly. Ambiance is cute. Perfect spot for meetup, study and work telecommuting. Ordered Iced Mint Mojito Tea -refreshing Avocado Toasts - looks delicious but it was more of avocado spread. Not the actual fresh avocado slices.

Back again and the food and drinks are good. I appreciate their food is real, cheese melts, egg is real not out of a carton, bread is good, and coffee is over sweetened with artificial sweeteners. This has become hard to find, so this place continues to grow on me. It's a big venue, room for kids, and the staff is always pleasant. I've been coming here for almost a decade now and I recommend this place.

I enjoyed my visit to Dirty Penguin Coffee. I came on a Sunday around 10am to get some work done, and there was plenty of seating available. It got pretty crowded and noisy between 11am and 12:30pm as lots of families with kids came in. After 1pm, things quieted down again and more tables opened up. The café also has free Wi-Fi, a few outlets, and a clean, spacious restroom. One thing I appreciated was that the staff seemed to care about maintaining a comfortable environment. A child near my table was having a tantrum, and an employee politely asked the parents to take the child outside until things had calmed down. Since many customers were there to work or study, I thought that was handled well. The girl who took my order was also incredibly kind. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but her smile was contagious and genuinely brightened my day. Food: My table ordered the tiramisu latte and the ube latte. The tiramisu latte was delicious, and I'd definitely recommend it. The ube latte had a stronger flavor profile, so if you enjoy a bold ube and coffee taste, you'll probably like it as well. Overall, I had a great experience at Dirty Penguin Coffee. There's plenty of parking outside, which is always a nice bonus, and I'd happily come back to work or grab a coffee again.

Was finally in town early enough to stop by! I always love how pretty, floral, and pink the inside of this shop is! It's super cute!! And despite being a "small" space, there always seems to be plenty of seating, which is such a plus. This time I tried the Tiramisu Matcha. The tiramisu definitely added sweetness to the matcha. It was good, but I think next time I'd love to try one of the other matchas on the menu! Also, shoutout to how quickly they finished making both my drink and my friend's!

Cute cafe that has been one of my local favorites. I remember it was initially hard to find, but parking there has never been an issue. My go-to order here that I've been obsessed with is the Biscoffee Latte, which is a sweet latte with vanilla bean and cookie butter flavoring and topped with cookie crumbs. I've enjoyed the avocado toast and lox bagel too. I've only experienced friendly service and have always been able to find a seat to plug in and get some work done for a couple hours.

Dirty Penguin Coffee in Chino Hills is such a super cute spot to grab coffee and a quick bite They have donuts for a sweet treat and the inside is SO fun and adorable -- very aesthetically pleasing and perfect for taking cute pics There's plenty of seating, which makes it a great place to hang out, and they even sell rare plants inside (obsessed). I got the Biscoff iced coffee -- it was good, but I did need it a bit sweeter for my taste, and the staff was so kind and helpful in getting it just right Overall, I definitely recommend this spot and will 100% be going back to try more things

Cool little spot with a good drink selection. Also a good place to study or work if you're trying t get some things done. The service was relatively quick. My ube coconut drink definitely quenched my thirst and creamy to the T. They also have good but i didn't get a chance to try. Good amount of parking that is shared. There's a decent of seats inside and a couple tables outside.

have been here several times with no issues, but today's visit left me a sour taste in the mouth. After ordering 2 drinks and waiting 10-15 minutes, i noticed parties ahead of me walking out with their drinks. I asked the barista about our 2 coffees and she said someone maybe took them and she will re-make them now. She then proceeds to make them iced as to the hot as we ordered and then she has to make them again. The time it took from ordering to getting our drinks was close to 40 minutes which is crazy for 2 lattes while waiting with a 15 month old. I don't see myself returning any time soon in the foreseeable future.

When my fiancé saw the barista weigh out the coffee beans, he said, "oh, now I definitely know the coffee's going to be good. The barista knows what he's doing." We didn't quite catch anyone's name since the line was quite long, but it was nice to see how committed everyone was. It was a super cute place. Little play house where the tables and chairs are at. Cute plants and decor. We came because of the quirky name, and I'm glad we gave this place a try. I had their biscotti latte and my fiancé had their Penguin. We'd love to stop by again for a quick cup!

I grew up in chino hills and don't live very far away now. I have yet to step foot into the dirty penguin because I felt it was a disingenuous coffee shop. A couple months ago I decided it was time to go, walked up to the door... and there was a big "B" rating. I decided to give them some time.... Today was the day. I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by no one. The staff looked directly us and then looked away. We were the only ones in line, a couple people scattered around were working. Not a great start but that's okay. I was there for coffee. I ordered a Spanish latte and a hibiscus lemonade. We waited an unusually long time for being the only customers, but I figured it was due to making some real good drinks. I was wrong. We were called up to grab the smaller than I assumed drinks. The staff again couldn't care less we were there, and my husband is actually the one who thanked them and started the dialogue. We stepped out the door and took some sips. The latte was horrendous. I tasted zero coffee, and what I could only describe as cinnamon cereal milk I put in the fridge to save for later. Safe yourself some money. I threw it away and drove to norco for a better cup of coffee.

Very artsy decor! The Dirty Penguin is sure a great place to enjoy great coffee and hang out or done some laptop work. The atmosphere is super cool and clean. The staffs also were nice and super accommodating. Number 1 coffee shop recommendation when in the area.

Great coffee shop with delicious drinks! The kids' area is cute, though it didn't really seem to be used as a kids' space when we visited. Most people were working in that area instead. The tables and chairs are comfortable if you're planning to stay awhile and get some work done, and there are outlets toward the back of the café for charging your laptop. Overall, I love this place!

Is the kids play area open? I went a few months back and the area was closed.

NO, it's no longer a kids thing anymore. New owners.

Do you have any non vegan breakfast burrito options? Or this purely vegan / vegetarian establishment?

Is this place still Black owned?

Place is no longer Black owned. Has been under new management for quite some time now.

Can the spanish latte be made entirely dairy free, flavorings and all? Also, do they serve the vegan breakfast burrito everyday?

Yes the breakfast burrito is served everyday

Do you offer any decaffeinated drinks?

They serve decaf coffee and I think their Ube latte is decaf

Are there gluten free options? Such as gluten free everything bagels and gluten free toast?

Not the bagels. They do have limited gluten-free pastries that changes often. I suggest you call and ask before you plan to go.

I host a bookclub, is this a good place for a group of 10 to meet up? if so, can I reserve a table or just show up early?

Not really. The lobby is very small and tables are limited. More for a three person group max.

The phone number listed in here is not accurate. Can someone please provide the correct phone number?

They don't have a number last time I checked. Message them via Instagram.

Are your vegan donuts gluten free?

    Yes they are!

    Do you sell coffee beans?

    Hey! Yes we do. :-)

Hi! We can make it as strong as you would like, same applies to the sweetness. You will leave happy. Thanks so much, have a wonderful weekend.

    Yes!

What are brunch hours? I see a Brunch Menu in the pictures. Unfortunately, Yelp won't allow me to post the link? ETA: I went on Saturday and it ends at 3PM.

They do brunch on weekends. I had it on a Saturday. It's about 5 items to chose from. I had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. Small, simple, and good. Not certain of hours but probably normal brunch hours.

Hello, are you open today since it is MLK day?

Good morning. Yes we are. Happy MLK day

    Are you guys per friendly?

They have a few tables outside. But you can't bring your pets inside. Service animals only inside.

I attempted to try and find this place, no luck. Are you inside of another business?

It’s definitely hard to find. The signs and entrance face away from the parking lot. So if you park in the lot where the roscoes and dental office is, you walk towards the street by the dental office and it’s right there around the corner of the…

I came to this drive-through farm instead of Maust Farms across the street, and there are…read moredefinitely pros and cons to both. This location is convenient and accessible because it's a drive-through, although traffic can get backed up. The eggs are also more expensive than the ones across the street, and in reality, I really couldn't tell which ones were better. I know some people are sticklers about eggs, but I honestly couldn't see much of a difference between the blue eggs I got from Maust Farms and the brown eggs from here. My biggest issue with this place was the amount of fecal matter on the eggs. That wasn't exactly appetizing, especially compared with the eggs across the street, which were much cleaner. I know farm-fresh eggs aren't always going to look perfectly clean, but for what I paid, I expected them to be cleaner. I originally thought you weren't really supposed to wash farm-fresh eggs with water, but when there's visible fecal matter on the shells, obviously you want to clean them before using them. I later learned that you can buy an enzymatic egg wash specifically made for cleaning fresh eggs and that the water should be warmer rather than cold when washing. Using cold water can cause the contents of the egg to contract and potentially draw contaminants through the porous shell. So if you're coming to this location, I would recommend knowing how to properly clean and store farm-fresh eggs, especially if yours are as dirty as some of mine were. The people here were very nice, and the drive-through is definitely convenient. However, between the higher price and how dirty the eggs were, I'll most likely go across the street next time.

Food has always been good, especially their waffles and in-house syrup- my favorite ! And I appreciate the expansion of their menu. Unfortunately over the past couple of years I've noticed a decline in their customer service. I know it's also under new ownership, I'm not sure if that's why but our past few visits have been disappointing due to the costumer service. I won't say all, but several of their employees have been rude and just unprofessional. It's not so much what the employees say, but more so their tone of voice and delivery. They need to work on being more friendly and hospitable to their customers. Also, the last couple of times our orders have been wrong. One time they completely forgot my husband's meal, and another time they added on two extra meals. I get sometimes these things happen but it's how they respond after and their willingness to make it right with the customer that's been aggravating. Maybe the employees should be trained to read back orders to avoid this from happening? After these instances, I now ask the cashier to repeat my order but I haven't experienced a cashier be pro-active in doing that on their own without me asking. I've had experience in the restaurant industry for many years as a server and hostess so I'm well aware of good customer service especially dealing with rushes and hangry costumers. I know this restaurant gets busy, and rightfully so for their good food and history, but it seems in their employee's tone of voice and facial expressions that they are not happy to be there to serve their customers. We dealt with a cashier who couldn't smile and looked so over it and just annoyed taking our order, the food runners sometimes have an attitude. A smile goes a long way !! I just hope to see an improvement in their customer service because we used to really love coming here.
