I think I finally found the right salon for me! And trust me, I've been looking...hard!! I had a cut and color done by Jessie. Let me start by saying that she is super friendly and personable; she's definitely a people person and won't let you get bored! Bonus: she has magic fingers! Seriously, she gave me the best scalp massage after she shampooed my hair. It was so relaxing! I thought I was gonna fall asleep and slide right of the chair! Ha! I asked her to cut an inch or two off my already layered hair and add some side bangs. I also needed her to darken my hair; I'm so over highlights right now! She did exactly what I asked and walked out feeling pretty and happy! I will definitely return to see Jessie again! The salon is cute, comfortable, and clean. The parking area is attached to the establishments next door so it can be a little hard to find a spot in there but that's not a deal breaker. read more

What can I say about this place? At 1st I was very hesitant to come here, but after much debate and constant nagging from my wife I finally caved . These people are absolutely amazing. Walk ins are Not Welcomed. Unless you want to pick up a price menu, they will not give you a quote if they're too busy. There also isn't a receptionist at the counter, which makes it awkward for someone walking in to get any help. When one of the stylist acknowledged me, the woman said they were too busy to give out a quote and handed me a card with the prices. She told me to go back in an hour. She also went ahead and handed me some hair along with her price card. I understand if people are busy, but if your business post walk ins are welcomed, at least have a receptionist to do the welcoming part. read more

I went to Platform after getting horrible color done at different salon in La Verne the day before. I made a very panicked appointment with Angel because I was going to a wedding that very next week... I wanted an ombre hair color, where my roots are dark and the ends are light. She NAILED it. Like, to the point where I hope she never moves and I never move, nailed it. The color looked great and my hair even felt better after the color than when I walked in! It also faded perfectly and kept a nice color until it was time for my retouch! Angel is the reason that I actually care enough to do my hair (almost) everyday now! Platform salon is one of the most chic, yet comfortable salons I have been to in the area. As soon I walked in I was greeted, attended to and also was offered some yummy wine. Right away I felt the pampering begin. The women in the salon are very professional but also very easy to talk to. I was offered current magazines(pet peeve is old out dated magazines) to browse through while my stylist (Dani) began coloring my hair. I had a retouch done, a trim and a conditioning treatment. My hair looked beautiful and felt amazing. I took home some great products and also was shown how to use them. I've been to some salons and buy tons of products and when I come home, I realize I don't know what to do with them. It really is hard to find a good salon! Clean, up to date, chic but not great products. I love a salon that greets you and offers you something to drink. Second, my stylist Daniel was awesome. Lisa has been cutting my hair for over a year now, and she is great! I used to always have trouble finding someone who can shape my naturally curly hair well, and I was lucky to find her. She is so talented. I let her know that I was trying to grow out my hair and she recommended a trim every 8 weeks. My hair is now longer and healthier! I showed her a pic & she devised a phased-in approach over my next 3 appts. First, an excellent cut both wet & dry to shorten, shape and thin out my heavy layers. Second, a Keratin Smoothing Treatment for easy styling at home. Lastly, a Bolyage of copper & caramel highlights. I really like this salon. Staff is warm and welcoming. Daniel did a great job on my haircut. I wanted a different look. Just by talking to me, he was able to figure out the look I was going for. He complimented me on my paisley pattern shirt. I told him I like to wear a lot of clothes from the '70s. He asked me, "Have you thought about having your hair parted down the middle?" I told him that sounded good. He changed my side-swept bangs into flattering face-framing layers with a middle part. It was a whole new look for me and I loved the result. I was immediately impressed with how beautiful the building is inside and out. The girl at the front desk is always smiley and nice and they immediately offer you a beverage as soon as you walk in.
