If you are in need of a color correction- Rayhana is your girl. I'm a natural brunette who is getting some grays and wanted a lived in, low maintenance, beachy look. I made the mistake of trying a new hairdresser (not Rayhana) who didn't have a lot of experience, and I ended up walking out of her salon with horrible, thick, uneven, orange-brassy stripes. I lived with that for a week then went back to her so she could fix it. She did not- she literally made it worse and told me to just use a color correcting shampoo and the brassiness would eventually fade. On top of that, she cut bangs and told me I would look like Ella Langley lol- I did not. I hated my hair and didn't even know where to start. I found Theory on Yelp and decided to drive by their salon after work. The salon is really nice and right across from a Starbucks which makes it even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Me and my ugly hair walked in and I was greeted immediately by a really sweet hairstylist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her I was looking for a stylist who would fix my hair. She went in the back and came back with Rayhana- the literal queen of color corrections! I came in 7/24/25 to get a balayage by Rayhana. I came across her Instagram and decided this is where I want to get my hair done, their work looks incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I initially messaged Judy and waited over a week and nothing. So then I messaged Rayhana and she got back to me right away, even scheduled me in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was beyond excited. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I get to the salon and her assistant greeted me (not a smile) and stated Rayhana would be in shortly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I waited a bit and then [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rayhana finally showed up but very unfriendly and dismissive. Not a smile either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now, I don't expect people to always be smiling. But I am paying for your services, you being friendly is a part of the customer service you provide for your business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There wasn't even friendly convo. She was very serious and dry. She just asked about my hair history and what I wanted, that pretty much sums up all the convo we had[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Maybe a few sentences here and there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then a regular customer seemed to have walked in because her and her assistants demeanor changed to smiling and laughing and conversing with her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So it wasn't that they were in a bad mood or just having a bad morning. They were choosing who to be friendly/nice to. It also bothered me that her assistant did half my hair. I'm supposed to be paying more bc the owner Rayhana is doing my hair... so why is she having her assistant do most of her work. The assistant also washed my hair; toned it; and blow dryed it. When my hair was done, it was too blonde and then one side seemed to not match the other? And [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told her and she had the nerve to say "i can't do it even/perfect. I am not a robot" she said "I am not a robot" about 3-5 times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was beyond irritated. Plus she charged me $90 for a haircut. $90!! When she didn't spend more than 10 minutes cutting it. 5-10min cut. Outrageous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Never coming back here again. Poor service customer. Not friendly at all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tried calling the salon to set up an appointment but no one answered so I inquired online and Danielle immediately contacted me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not sure why Danielle contacted me via text versus another stylist but she did and she was kind and took me in the day after contacting me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She moved my appointment several times due to her forgetting she had a prior commitment which was fine with me and I was happy just to be seen so fast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I needed to be out by 2 since I had to work. I sent her what my hair looked like that same day she contacted me and I sent her an Inspo pic from the salon she works at. During the appointment she wanted to take pics for her content which I said yes to but I thought to myself... she knows I'm on a time crunch.. and this is cutting into my appointment time. The appointment was at 945 and I didn't have dye on my hair until 1015. That's 30 min. She did balayage on me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She checked the foils & said I needed a hair cut. I told her I didn't want one. She said too bad you're going to need it. I reminded her, I didn't not ask for one. She said whether you like it or not you need one etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I asked her if my hair was broken due to the bleach and she said no, then quickly said well all hair breaks with bleach... right there and then I told her she didn't have to leave the foil on that long because I know my hair won't lift. She said she wanted to leave it on longer and wouldn't let me walk out like that because I was a representation of her work. I asked her why it was so light and orange and she said my root melt that we're going to do was going to fix that... It was obvious to me she over processed my hair and she kept pushing for a haircut because of her inexperience which resulted in my hair being fried I've decided to do my root melt and cover my grays the next day since it was getting late. I needed to go to work and she had another client that walked in for their appointment. She requested for me to pay her while she was still blowing my hair. She charges me 450$ and I left her a 20%tip. So I paid her 540. I did all of this while she was still blow drying my hair. She said I had to pay her upfront for the service before I left even through she wasn't finished covering my grays and doing a root melt. I've never had a stylist charge me for work they haven't even done. She should have charged me for the balayage then charged me for the rest the next day. I went to work and saw how bad my hair was. There was so much bleach on my hair when all I wanted was dark with dimension. My hair looked shorter, less volume and lighter. The breakage was evident. Next day: I asked her to tone my hair darker since it was too light. I asked for a 5 or 6 and she said it was too dark. I said I WANT IT DARK... I've been asking for dark brunette form the very begging. Anyway, as she was covering my grays I asked her if she could try not to get it on my face as much as possible since my skin absorbs dye quickly and obviously stains. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She said well what do you want? Do you want me to cover your roots or not? Because I can't do both. Ok... I've said this to hairstylist before and they politely say ok I'll try my best.. she was very snippy and rude[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I asked for a hair mask because my hair was very dry since the bleach yesterday and said she had to charge me. I told her if she couldn't be careful because she bleached my shirt the prior day and she said she wasn't doing bleach so I'll be fine.. ok but you still ruined my shirt... As she was covering my grays I asked her if the root melt was after... she said this is the root melt.. I was shocked because I've never had anyone do a root melt like that on me. I told her stylist usually cover my grays then do a root melt, she said this is how I do it I reached out to my friend that's a hair stylist and she was horrified to know she was doing this. Another one of my hair stylist friends said this : "root melt will not cover the "grey hair" bc it's "acidic based formula" it will just melt your highlights/ balayage. I usually do a grey coverage color tint in between my foils - when I'm highlighting. Some stylist do it before they start your balayage process. It just depends on the way the hairdresser works! 1 is acidic and grey coverage is alkaline based. You usually don't mix them until you shampoo the hair." [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked her to please tone my hair darker she said she couldn't because it would turn warm and that's not what I wanted. I called my former hair stylist and she told her exactly what to do so my hair wouldn't turn warm[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Well, as soon as she hung up, Danielle said "wow I've never had anyone tell me how to do my job" I told her "I've never had anyone mess up my hair before and try to charge me for a hair mask when they fried my hair" [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then I asked to the salon owners information or managed. The goal was to add dimension and have it appear more natural with low maintenance but now it appears as splotchy with a reddish tone and the blonde that was meant to be toned down, is completley faded after a week? She also was very rough with my hair when it was being washed to the point it hurt. I'm not one to ever complain which is why I just pushed through it, but this was not worth over 400 including a generous tip. I now have to get this fixed. I just want to start off by saying that BENNY is the best!!! My friend recommended her to me to get my hair dyed and fix the hair situation I had. My previous stylist put super huge money pieces and it wasn't quite to my liking. First of all, Benny was really accommodating in setting an appointment for me before my birthday next week. I contacted her in early July and needed to reschedule due to a prior conflict. I then asked to reschedule for earlier because I was very unhappy looking in the mirror and seeing hair I didn't like. She scheduled me on a friday before her vacation Saturday. Not once did I feel like she was rushing or trying to get me done asap because of her flight the next day. This is something I have not experienced, and this was the first time I met her. Did I say Benny is amazing?! In our consult, I let her know that I wanted to look glowy and have that jlo look. I showed her a inspo picture and the only problem with that was the color showed very warm. I let her know that I had my "money pieces" warm and didn't like them so I wasn't sure I'd like my hair lightened warm. I also let her know that I really liked her most recent post as inspo.(for placement purposes, my hair isn't light like the photo) Well 6 hours later, magic happened and my hair is absolutely stunning. I have been going to surrounding salons and noticed some bad bleach placements and to add silly cuts that look like a mullet, thin with stringy ends. I have never had a worst experience with a salon in my 20 years of getting my hair done. I was impressed by Rayhanas Instagram page BUT I'm writing so that other people do not get fooled. She was extremely unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. I spent 6 hours in her chair without a word said to me. When I asked a question she was so dismissive & answered very condescendingly telling me she knows what she's doing. 6 hours later and 600 dollars spent my hair looked terrible. I went home and dealt with it for a few days because I was afraid to ask her to fix it. I decided to send her some pictures and she said her assistant would fix it. I came to the appointment & nobody was there she had me come back the following day. She took one look at my hair and realized how horrible the placement of my highlights were & how much she damaged it. She bleached me yet again to fix the problem & insisted I absolutely needed to cut it basically to get rid of all the damage I had which I did not have before. I had healthy long hair just wanted some highlights. She chpped it off and trust my color does not look like I paid 600 dollars for it. See pictures. I would not recommend this salon. I have nothing but wonders to say about this salon and the owner Rayhana. In the past, I've jumped from colorist to colorist to achieve the perfect blonde - natural without the damaged dryness that comes with it. That search was over when I met Ray back in January 2019. She is the only colorist that touches my hair as she KNOWS hair. My go to style is a low maintenance natural look that allows for a 9-12 month growth out! What I love the most is that my hair feels healthy, looks beautiful, and matches my needs of keeping it natural looking without the constant coloring. I get compliments all the time as anything she does is a knockout and I always leave happy with my look. In addition to great hair, the salon's atmosphere is tranquil yet chic with easy parking in the back.
