I unexpectedly backed up into a tree that was sticking out.... shit happens, the glass cracked but it could have been worst. Platinum was referred to us by our auto guy and we quickly made the call. A quote was given and an approximated 1-2 hours timeframe was needed for an appropriate window to be delivered to the shop. First thing Monday morning I call Platinum, they say give'm 5 minutes to check on parts. I call back shortly thereafter, they say parts will be there at 11:30 so come in then. Fan-friggin-tastic. I want to give them a 6th star. I've had my car in Brooklyn with me for 2+ years and of course I got my back vent window broken the DAY I registered it in NYC. I'm a cheapo and I called the first 4 places that I found on Yelp to price it out. The guy from the highest rated place on here was SUPER pushy over the phone - he kept bad-mouthing his competition and wouldn't really take "you're too expensive" for an answer. Another place took 15 minutes just to get me quote. EVERYONE quoted me a price about DOUBLE what Platinum Auto quoted me. I went to Platinum Auto because they were BY FAR the cheapest place I called. I went in midday on a Saturday and was out in less than 30 minutes. They vacuumed the broken glass out of my car and even put my new NYC plates on the car for me. Anthony was just wonderful. Super nice and straightforward and he seemed to have a great rapport with his workers and customers. Also the waiting area is like a loft living room directly above where they work, which is kind of funny and entertaining. There are many things I dislike about owning a car and having a windshield crack starting to form out of nowhere was just a headache I didn't want to have to deal with during a very busy week. I was just so surprised how easy and painless a company could make this situation. I called over there for an estimate, Anthony was super nice on the phone, asked me to call back in ten minutes. Anthony has to be the most honest business owner I have ever encountered in my entire life. Had a cracked windshield on my leased Altima, was concerned regarding there being an issue replacing the windshield with an aftermarket part. Anthony literally had a quote for me for the aftermarket and OEM part within 5 mintues; he advised to go with the aftermarket part, and literally had the best prices available (mind you I was shopping around).
