After the app was unable to recognize my insurance (which is up to date) I called them. the representative told me that the earliest appointment was next tuesday or wednesday (4/5 days from now) ON SITE (eg at th garage itself. Quote 500. 00 As i park on the street in NYC (a great neighborhood until now) waiting those days with no window as well as being unable to get to work was not possible. Two other quotes, one who could come to me today for 350.00 and another who quoted me 200.00 if i could get to their garage this morning. There ARE other options, less expensive (significantly) and much more convenient. Don't advertise what you can't deliver. read more

My daughter recommended Safelite, and it was a BIG convenience to have it done at my location. Even though the appointment had to be rescheduled a couple of times because of rain, that's caused by the Creator, so okay. Today 5/16/25 it finally happened! The first day,after waiting for mobile service all day, I confirmed and I somehow wasn't on the schedule. The second day, Safelite canceled on us. The third day was a mobile delivery, and the new windshield came cracked. The fourth appointment, I went to the shop for a 9:30 appointment, and my car was not ready until 5:30pm. The difficulty to talk to a human and not AI, was mind blowing. I chatted to the man next to me in the waiting room and he had an identical experience. read more

Ordered a new windshield they arrived with a cracked windshield told me that was my only option. They incorrectly put the windshield in by not sealing it and allowing moisture in the vehicle. Sold me wipers with a lifetime warranty then documented that i never paid for the wipers and guess what the "lifetime warranty" doesn't exist either. Called corporate and was advised that it up to the shop manager to fix it if he chooses to. The shop manager obviously refused to fix the issue. I paid hundreds of dollars to be put in a worse situation than i even started in. Its sales they sell you nothing for a lot and false advertise the product to gain financially benefit safelite. The consumer does not matter they want your money. SHADY BUSINESS and SHADY SERVICE!! read more

Slow and not very good service. First I was trying to get an appointment with them and rescheduled 4 times. Once was scheduled was told it may take 3 hours when came it took more than 5 hours and the car was outside but still was not finalized calibration. 2* just because they finalized it when next time brought the car. read more

Drop off was fast and easy. The waiting area has a Keurig while you wait, but you may as well go across the street to Net Cost Market. The attendant has to deal with a lot of people and a LOT of accents so I suggest being patient with them! Lol. Windshield takes a couple of hours. I'll update when I get it back! read more

After quoting me three prices, texting and emailing many times, even the day of my appointment, confirming my appointment, I get an email notice out of nowhere of cancellation. And the notice is written in a way suggesting I cancelled it. I did not cancel anything. I had waited over a week to get my glass replaced. We scheduled an appointment for Safelite to come to our home. We had an afternoon appointment between 1:30 and 5:30. The morning of the appointment the technician calls and lets me know he will arrive 4:00/4:30 which was still within the window. By 4:30 there was no call that he was arriving on time. I had to call him instead. He tells me he has 2 more cars and will arrive at 5:45 which is past the window time. In addition, it would be dark and I did not want a window replacement completed in the dark. I was very annoyed, I never received an updated call with a new time and that the arrival time was now way past the window time. I called the next morning to reschedule and they would not accommodate me with a morning visit within the next couple of days. Safelite does nothing to help their customer and has horrible customer service. I found a local window repair store to take my care and the cost is $100 less. Therefore, Safelite also charges way too much. I do not recommend them and advise you to stay away. Do not believe their commercials since they are not truthful. read more

My windshield cracked from a branch hitting the car during a storm. I scheduled an appointment with Safelite and had a terrible experience. The person they sent to do the work did not communicate with us other than to get the key car. He worked in the garage and then left the car running in the garage for over 10 minutes (it's under the house), which filled the house with an exhaust fume smell so I went out and told him to take the car out of the garage while running it which he did not quickly do. He never came to the door to tell us he was finished, to review the work with us, or to return the car key which was left in the cupholder, with the car unlocked. He did not test drive the car to make sure the windshield worked while driving. He left purple tape all over the windshield. It was a bad experience and I cannot recommend Safelite. read more

I made an appointment for a 2020 Toyota to be done via insurance. When I arrived for my appointment they told me they did not have my part. I made this appointment in advance and the appointed was approved by safelite. There is no excuse why my part was not in. I will never use nor recommend safelite. Offering chinese glass replacement with bs recalibration which is not necessary if you're not unplugging nothing and even if you are then it's not needed, some sort of default cash grab scam. And want over $500 for it for the recalibration which is more than chinese windshield glass would cost me. I'm a car electrician and i know what I'm talking about. I chose to use glass from Subaru rather than an aftermarket windscreen. It's on me, I paid $811 additional after my insurance covered it 100%! But that seems extremely expensive. That's why the 'maybe' rating. Other than that, the Middletown, NY techs did a good job read more

I made an appointment to have the windshield of my Tesla Model X replaced at the Brooklyn, 18th Avenue location. Setting up the initial appointment was easy enough. However, the day before the appointment, I was notified that the windshield was not available, and the appointment had to be rescheduled. This happened two more times. On the day of the rescheduled appointment, I dropped off the car and was told it would be ready by 4:30 PM the same day. Before heading over, I tried calling twice to confirm that the car would be ready, but I couldn't reach anyone. I left messages, which were never returned. When I arrived at 4:20 PM, I was told the car wouldn't be ready until 5:30 PM. The car was finally ready at 5:50 PM. A few days later, it rained, and I discovered that the driver-side wiper was not adjusted properly, extending about 3 inches beyond the windshield. When I tried to adjust it, I noticed the EZ Pass was never placed back. I tried calling the service center but, once again, couldn't reach anyone, so I drove there. The person at the reception desk was extremely rude, telling me they do not reattach EZ Passes and that it was left somewhere in my car, so I should look for it. The next day, I called EZ Pass to request a new pass and was told that my pass had been used that same morning, meaning someone at Safelite was using it. Not only are the people working at this place incompetent, but they are also thieves. read more

If you book your appointment make sure you confirm the windshield is actually in stock. My suggestion is to call and confirm. Originally booked on line and then decided to call and was told the windshield would arrive until the morning of my appointment so I rebooked it a week later just in case. Upon arriving, I was greeted, the car was taken immediately and was told 2 hrs. I wondered through Old Navy and Marshalls just across the street (HMart also just opened as well) and 45 min later they called me and said the car was ready!!! Seamlessly, I checked out and asked for a good car wash and was told that NO CAR WASH for 3 days and to leave the tape on the window for 24 hrs as an added protection. Hi Everyone, I am posting a general complaint and advising people to steer clear od SafeLite. Do your homework. I called several times over the years to replace my Jeep Wrangler windshield, and each time they were about $200. higher than anyone else (Same product BTW). Next, and most importantly, I had my Tacoma windshield replaced by the Parsippany NJ location. The windshield install was fine, However the Lane Departure Alert is not nearly as sensitive as it was before the install. They are refusing to do anything about it. The vehicle is less safe now than before the windshield was replaced. Stay away from this company and the Parisippany NJ location. read more

Well, for one thing, it's almost impossible to get someone on the phone that is knowledable and you can't seem to call the shops directly and get routed to their customer service line which is useless. I had a quote to replace my windshield and my passengers window. I wanted to make sure that the glass I was getting was OEM glass. I know if I go through the dealership that the windshield is $1,750. Safelite was charging about $950. I don't understand how they can get oem glass for almost 50% cheaper. The guy on the phone told me it was oem, but I didn't have too much confidence in his response. When I asked about the passenger door glass, he told me the order had aftermarket glass, I asked to switch it to oem which he said he did. Now the really confusing thing.. Is that the price for just the glass was MUCH higher for the passenger window than the entire windshield. I do not understand how the glass for the passenger window is $500 more at least than the glass for the windshield. It doesn't make sense. So this job would have been over $3,000 and I wasn't even confident it was reqlly oem. I called and asked how come the passenger glass is more than the windshield if they are both oem and also asked how they can get a oem windshield for almost 50% less than the dealership charges for the same glass. They told me they are unable to answer those questions. So I'm sorry, but if I'm paying over $3,000 for replacement glass service I need my questions answered 100% and I need to be made to feel confident which I'm not. It doesn't appear like their phone agents have any clue really and you can't talk to the actual shop and speak to the people who do actually know. There were too many unknowns for that kind of money. It's ridiculous if you're spending that much money and you don't even have anyone decent and knowledgeable to speak to. So, I will just go to the dealership. At least I know there 100% what I'm getting and they are able to answer whatever questions I may have. Safelite lost a $3k sale for their incompetence. read more

My windshield cracked through both layers that water was entering my car. I was able to make an appointment on Safelite's website for the following week. It was a little over $200 for a non-OEM windshield. This shop also has a parking lot which is very convenient. The individual who helped me was very kind and welcoming even though they seemed busy. He made sure they had the glass for my car in stock before taking my car keys and told me they would call me when they finished. My appointment was at 11 and I arrived at 10:30. I was told the windshield change takes about 1.5 - 2 hours once they begin. I wasn't busy so it didn't bother me that it took 4 hours total, but if it wasn't during this pandemic and I was working I would probably have been upset that it took so long. They also informed me that Safelite AutoGlass has a lifetime warranty (but according to the website, it is only if you find something wrong with your windshield and you notify them within 30 days). tl;dr - kind staff, did a great job with my changing my windshield. The service is affordable if you don't mind have a non-OEM windshield (the OEM windshield was around $1,000 more) read more

I took my Toyota SUV to replace a broken windshield. Appt was at 1 pm. I was told my truck was what they called a "project" and it would take 4 hours. I said fine and left the keys. 3 Hours later they called and said there was a "rust issue" and there was a good chance the new windshield would not be able to be installed. There was no rust. There was a time issue with the amount of customers vs the number of employees. Just left another Safelite location in Rockland County and the entire windshield was replaced in 1 hour 15 minutes. Start to finish. They explained how they would do it, they showed me the new windshield and examined my truck before I left. Guess what? No rust! It must have rained WD-40 last night. read more

UPDATE: it's been 2 weeks and no one has reached out regarding this although the as told to wait for the local manager to call me. Says a lot about the company honestly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you care about your time and your car, don't come here. I had a 9:30am appointment, it's now 12:35pm and they're just now laying the glass down. When I dropped the car off, 15 minutes before my appointment, I mentioned I'd take a walk and come back in an hour and a half or so. When I came back 2 hours later at 11:30am, I'm walking up and I see my car violently whip out of the parking lot and drive on the wrong side of the street screeching tires to pull into their garage. 45 minutes ago, the person at the desk quoted me 30-40 minutes before it's done. It's now 45 minutes later and he says now it's 25 minutes til it's done. I could have just come back 3 hours past my appointment and when I brought this up, the guy got really snappy and rude with me, saying "my apologies, next time I'll learn exactly how long my technicians take just so I can give you exact timing for them". I responded to Safelite Auto Glass' ad because it stated in big red letters: "$80 OFF" - but after I filled out their online form, no "coupon code" to claim this discount was provided. I immediately contacted customer service and was told by their chat and phone representatives that no such code or offer exists! So, this is a scam and I know, if they lie to you at the beginning, they will lie to you at the end. That's why their reviews have only 1-star. Needless to say, I went to a local shop, got my windshield replaced and it cost me less than Safelite's minimum quote before all the add-ons. read more

In March I brought my Mercedes S500 for a windshield. I got OEM windshield installed. First when I got there they didn't have the right glass. Then it took a week to get it in. Then they installed it.... the worst job I have ever seen. When they put the window trim pieces back on I guess they couldn't get it right so they attempted to glue it in place.... well that was incorrect so now there is a gap and it sticks up about 1/2inch off the windshield that is noticeable and water is getting in. So now I have to take the car to New Jersey to I guess it's the main shop to have it repaired again. I will NEVER EVER go to these butchers again. Thankfully I found another glass replacement shop on Staten Island. I wish I would have used them first. Stay away from this place. read more

I cracked my windshield on September 5th and the soonest appointment after was September 14th so I had to drive around with the crack for a few days waiting but my crack did not impede my vision. If It was that bad I would have dropped it off and seen if they could do it sooner. No employee is extremely friendly or particularly engaging but they are fast and effective which is all I really need when changing out a windshield. Overall it was a fine experience. read more

I was exited to schedule my appointment for safelite to come and change my windshield up until my appointment today. they scheduled me for 8:30am-1:30pm. 1:45pm and I noticed nobody arrived. they then called me and said "sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately the technician quote on quote had something to attend to" and nobody can come to you until Friday (two days later) not to mention I already missed work for this appointment.. it got worse when the employee told me that they had known this 2-3 hours prior to calling me, so they knowingly waited until the 1:30pm window closed and knew for 2-3 hours that nobody can come.. then they changed my total from $372 to $452 because upon them rescheduling and canceled on me, they would no longer honor the promo code I used from the original scheduling.. so I can cancelled my appointment all together then they tried to charge me cancellation fees and taxes until I called corporate to complain! I would stay away from this business it's a scam and the employees are very rude and disrespectful.. TERRIBLE failed repair. From small chips and nicks to fully cracked windshield. It was supposed to be REPLACEMENT not even a fix! I mean CRACKS all over windshield up and down, side to side. Something went wrong, I believe one of workers said a wrong windshield received. But don't you verify twice before you touch - measure twice, cut once? The windshield is on backorder for 3 months they say now! WTF and they say it is safe!!! Their approach for a failed repair is really not helpful and quiet rude, extremely arrogant when they try to justify instead of looking for windshield high and low. The worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I had an appointment Between 8am and 12. At 11:50 I asked him where they were. They said 10 more minutes and he be on his way. At 12:30 on their app is said that they haven't left yet. I called again and they say he's leaving. At 12:50 I called and he still hasn't left. He supposed to call at the beginning of the day. They said that they had broken equipment and that's why they were late. Not one person called me to keep me updated. He is supposed to fall yoh the beginning of his shift. He didn't not call me at all. . I am Flightcrew and I have 1 million things to do before I fly out on a two week trip. This company does not respect your time. The last person told me that my little chip might not be fixable. They never told me that in the beginning. I turned around and sent a picture to headquarters because with him saying that I totally stressed me out. The gentleman at headquarters said no that's not sure with the damage I had. Go elsewhere. Or go into a shop if you don't have time to waste. Because they do not care about your time. Again until I got a supervisor not one person apologize. Even when I asked why no one had. Hint. hint. This is from agents at the main call center and even the brooklyn business did ... not apologize. They gave excuses like they have broken tools. They should've just updated me so I could've left the house and come back. I don't think anyone learned a lesson from this. Go elsewhere.
