They need help y'all. There are a bunch of 16-21 year olds running this place and we wasted tons of time and money being with this gym. At first I loved it, we got a Groupon and loved how welcoming the front desk was. I finally felt like I was seen where at another gym I just felt like they could care less if we were there or not which I didn't care for. Platinum made us feel valued and seen. Well, I noticed pretty quickly the constant turnover of coaches, every week my daughters preschool class had a new coach which was discouraging as every week I had to tell my 3yo to not let them hold her hand. My daughter has been walking on a beam for a year without help yet every week with a new coach they would treat her like a baby again. My 5 year old started moving up into the pre team track and it was exciting! I was looking forward to better form, somewhat stricter coaching etc to see her skills really blossom but... honestly it wasn't much different. My daughter would do a terrible cartwheel and they were high giving her and baby taking "great job, wow". Palm to face, this is the pre team track and that flies??? Well they wanted to love her up again, she has been 5 for barely 2 months and wanted her to be on the actual pre team. Practice twice a week which isn't bad but wait for it.... For THREE HOURS on both days, 3:30-6:30. She just turned 5 teal and her skills aren't great, she has potential but she's no Shannon Miller and she's not even close to competing so why am I going to pay $225 a month to burn her out when she's in preschool. To me, here what I see, they are suffering. They need the money, they are pushing these kids up in ranks to fill the spots but these kids are not superstars, not yet at least. They need better coaching, more consistent staff, and higher standards. Final straw was when the owners husband (who is also an owner) and was working at the gym was arrested and being investigated for sex crimes. There was not a peep from them, nothing. To me this is something that should have been addressed, even a simple email stating what was going on and what steps they were taking. Example: As some of you may know, X was recently placed in custody for a crime. We want to assure you X will not be working at the gym during, at minimum, the investigation. The door to get into the gym from the waiting room is a HOT MESS, everyone knows it and they don't do anything about it. We were there for 6 months and things only got worse month by month. We do think the girls were nice, very sweet! But as far as a competitive gymnastics program, keep looking y'all... this isn't the place. read more

Updated: Changing from 5 stars to 3. Had a tuition issue that was THEIR fault, I received an apology from the front desk, but Gene, the owner immediately tried to shift blame. An "I'm sorry" was not in his vocabulary. I'm very disappointed bc as a business owner he should have said "We're sorry that happened to you, now let's see what we can do to fix the problem." That is customer service 101. The facility is nice and brand new. Should have someone walk thru the girls bathroom midday, everyday, to see if paper towel, soap, and toilet paper needs refilling. The private lessons (1x1) are reasonably priced. I just wish it was better communication when they charge my card on file. I receive an email receipt when they charge my card, and it would be helpful if they had a line or a little space where they could add the reason for the charge. read more

Platinum was a great gym up until about a year ago, when we got new owners everything went sideways. They changed everything and now leading up to moving to another gym to practice? I was a gymnast there for 4 going on 5 years and I just had to quit because I couldn't make the commute to another gym the owners were MAKING us go to in order to stay at this gym. The owners have made a lot of choices like this requiring us to either stay or don't. These new owners DO NOT care about their gymnasts and only care about how things work for them. They split up a team up girls who have been together for a very long time in the middle of our season. Unacceptable behavior on their part. read more

Not recommended for toddlers. I enrolled my almost 3 year old son here to build/develop coordination skills. I had a friend who's daughter is in dance/gymnastics and the daughter advised against going but my friend and I laughed it off as expectations for a 2 vs 10 year old vary. So, I heeded the warning and enrolled anyway. I should have gone with my gut after one of the first sessions when I felt very uneasy with the lack of child development skills the instructors had. It was a parent and tot class and the instructors provided little to no direction. While I was there to certainly help direct my son, I would have expected more direction/instruction from the instructors. The direction they did provide was not appropriate for a 2 year old or maybe my parenting/teaching expectations are different. I take a very positive reinforcement approach to my parenting. Toddlers need direction and confidence building at this age and "don't do that" vs "hey, buddy let's try this" make a world of difference in how you get a toddler to respond. And, to be completely transparent, I would have quietly unenrolled and chalked up the experience as "not for us", but the employee that returned my call had very poor customer skills and was on the defense as soon as the conversation started. Now, I have to make an extra trip to the office to provide my written 30 day notice on a form provided by them because in 2019 where everything is digital, they cannot accept written notice via email. Fingers crossed I don't have the same billing issues as other reviewers and that they discontinue billing when the 30 day notice is up. In summary, I would not recommend this place of business based on policies that are not consumer friendly, poor customer service and lack of training of the instructors. read more

I found this gymnastics place through Groupon and trial sessions we attended were great, so I decided to sign up my little one for six months sessions. Nice, clean facility, great communication with management and convenient location helped to make decision to choose platinum gymnastics over another spot. His trainer is a professional who enjoys working with kids. You can see it in action, because parents have an opportunity to sit and actually watch entire session and be a part of experience. I like the fact that his trainer is passionate and has patience. My son get distracted easily, he is actually the only boy in a group of little cute girls. He thinks it's a game and fun and my intention is to make him be focused and understand basics of self discipline. When he get distracted she approaches him and he starts to listen and follow her instructions. I see improvements in his movements already and progress is obvious, I see him following a teacher (that how he calls her) with respect. Can't ask for more. They have standard reasonable policies and all kind of activities like fun Friday, performances and parents out programs. I would definitely recommend Platinum Gymnastics to anyone who is looking for fun while learning. read more

Still not resolved and I have had to cancel my card to prevent the issue. Seems they only care about money. The class for the kids was a joke and the teacher laughed when my toddler fell and hurt herself. My daughter (4) recently expressed interest in gymnastics...so we began our search. Fortunately, it wasn't long until we found Platinum. There is another gym closer to us, but Platinum is worth the drive for us. Coach Addison has been my daughter's instructor and she is great. She engages her students at a developmentally appropriate level, redirects, and assists them with technique one on one through out the stations as needed. The sights and smells brought me back...I spent a lot of time in gyms when I was a wee one...Looks to be a pretty comprehensive gymnastics facility - oriented towards kids (aren't most?), and females (not much men's equipment). read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They always change instructors so the kids don't have any kind of consistency getting trained. The front desk is helpless when you call, that's if they even answer the telephone. I decided to take my daughter out of Platinum Gymnastics after the stay at home order went into effect, we were charged for the month of March and April even though we didn't take her for the month of March. I called them several times and and they would always tell me the same thing "We are going to let the owner know and we'll get back to you". Month after month I kept calling asking them for my refund and nothing ever got resolved. Finally today they told me they couldn't give me a refund because it had been more than 120 days even though I have records of me calling them and emailing them asking for a refund well before the "120" days they say had passed. I would suggest finding a different place to take your kids. They do not deserve anyone's business let alone training your kids.. read more

This gym does not have good customer service. They will not deviate from their contract even if you only attended 3 classes and decided the drive was too far. I paid registration fees also - they could just take their $109 out of the $35 x 2 I paid, which I loose. These guys are crooks. They also do not have great teaching skills for the younger kids, they just let them run around without really teaching the proper way to do a cartwheel, so your kids don't really make much progress on their own. read more

Our 4-year-old son attends the preschool class Tuesday afternoons and loooooooves it. But that's not surprising -- before going here, he took several gymnastics classes through the Pflugerville Rec Center and loved those as well. What I love about this place: -- The classes are ongoing. I realize this could be a positive or negative, but for us it's nice not to have to sign up for each new session and hope you get into a class that works for you. -- Variety. His old gymnastics classes were great for him when he was younger. They taught him to pay attention and gave him confidence. But they basically did the same thing EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Which was fine. But in the five or six weeks he has been attending classes at Platinum, I think they've repeated exercises maybe once or twice. The equipment they have here is also more extensive and "professional," and it's been great to see him learn new things and grow. -- Instruction. Now, I'm sure this largely depends on the person, but so far his instructor has been a great mix of hands-on teaching and encouragement and letting the kids figure things out. I also love the fact that they frequently have a second instructor/floater who helps out. -- Size. I think there are six kids in his class, but generally four or five show up for any given session. Perfect to allow for one-on-one instruction when needed while letting the kids have some freedom to learn on their own. -- Accommodating. So far they have been completely accommodating with us switching days and classes. And when we recently learned they have a holiday break camp and called about it, they said it would be fine for him to attend even though he's technically not quite old enough (supposed to be at least 5 and he's 4 1/2). What I don't like as much: -- The parents have a separate "viewing room" closed off from the gym. This isn't so much a bad thing as it is just not what I'm used to. It's nice being able to sit in the same room with him, and it's certainly easier for both of us to see each other. -- Not as friendly to younger kids. They say that kids can start as early as 18 months, so we eagerly took our son and his younger sister to a free trial class. Holy bejeezus. While it's true that the class is supposed to be for kids from 18 months to 3 years, I can't imagine an 18-month-old who could do pretty much any of the stuff they were doing. One of the exercises had her hanging from a bar and (in theory) bringing her feet up to the bar as well. Ha-ha. Ha. Ha. Most of the 3-year-olds couldn't do it! The thing is, we've been to classes that are ACTUALLY geared to kids that young, so we know it can be done. They're just more play based. Bending, dancing, jumping, climbing. Holding their hands as they go across a balance beam. So we were bummed. But mostly it's their loss, because we certainly won't be putting our daughter in classes there until she's at least 3. read more

We have been so thrilled with both our kiddos experience at Platinum Gymnastics! My oldest started in pre-k and has grown so much so quickly! After seeing how much she loved class each week I started my little one in the parent and tot class! What a blast that is, and so much fun to experience with them! Can I give it a 2.5? My daughter is in a preschool class and she loves it. Pros - They switch between teaching basic skills and experiencing gymnastics equipment such as bars & beam. The teacher is very knowledgeable and tries her best with preschoolers. Which cannot be easy with their attention span! CONS - We finally had to switch classes because my daughter's original preschool class had over 11-12 kids in it....and only ONE teacher. The kids had hardly any instruction because the teacher cannot be in all places at once. Not the teacher's fault, but they just kept adding kids to this class! When we signed up there were maybe 8 kids & 2 teachers. Suddenly all the teachers left and the owners kept adding kids to the class...seriously overworking the teacher. I felt my daughter never got any instruction or attention paid to her. And when they were doing an activity, there were so many kids that they never rotated all the way around and my daughter missed out on certain areas. Also, I pay when I am there. But 1/2-1/3 of the time, the only person in the gym is the 1 teacher teaching the class. They say the gym is open, but there was no one to take my payment. No one to answer phones or run the front desk/office. I tried to pay but the teacher didn't know how to take my payment. How do you run a business like this?? read more

We enrolled my two daughters in November. My oldest was placed in the pre-team class with Haley as her instructor. Since being here, my daughters skills have regressed. She use to love gymnastics and for several weeks we had to highly encourage her to come. Upon watching classes and talking to my daughter, we are wrapping up our final month here. I'm disappointed that progress was not made despite her being here 6 hours a week. Her teacher gives the class three strikes and if they misbehave, they are required to do conditioning for the remainder of the class. Thankfully, my daughter doesn't mind conditioning, but I do not pay for my daughter to be punished when a teacher cannot control a class of 5-7 year olds. I pay for her to tumble and learn. I have sat through several classes where there is no tumbling done. My daughter was close to having her back handspring at her previous gym and she hasn't practiced it at all here. If she is tumbling, she's doing forward rolls. She learned those when she was 4. It's also very rare that her teacher is hands on and corrects mistakes. Her teacher does not appear happy to be here and has a flat affect through the entire class. I have rarely seen her spot or help my gymnast or the others. I spoke to the teacher about my concerns, and was not given a response. I spoke with the girl at the front desk and was told that not every area of gymnastics is focused on in every class. I finally spoke with the owners when we came to withdraw from class. I had never met them until that point. I expressed my concerns and the only response given was that curriculum would be changing that month. But throughout the month, the discipline continued, tumbling was not done, and the class had to do conditioning because of behaviors. If a teacher can not control behaviors then something needs to be evaluated. Maybe a more hands on teacher. Possibly one that enjoys her job and acts like it. Maybe more instructors in the class. Gymnasts are not worked at their current level. They're held back if other kids in the class are not as advanced. We painfully made it through our final month and won't be returning nor recommending Platinum. read more

It's a nice facility. However, their communication is severely lacking. I have tried multiple times to get in contact with members of their staff by calling the gym. I have left my phone number with them along with a designated time period in which to call me back and they have not made a single effort. Overall it's a good gym, but if you expect to talk to anyone I wish you the best of luck. Sadly, the only way to get their attention is for you to physically go into their gym and demand it. read more

Our daughter expressed an interest in trying gymnastics. Rather than get locked into a long-term commitment right away, Platinum Gymnastics offered a trial class. We took advantage of the trial class and of course, she loved it. Still skeptical about agreeing to a long-term commitment, we saw a Groupon for a month's worth of classes and continued. Finally, once the month was over, we enrolled our daughter as a regular student for the semester term. I can not tell you how impressed we were with the staff, instructors, and involvement from other parents as well. Our daughter attended beginner rec class on Wednesday evenings and the time frame was perfect so we could finish work, grab something to eat, and then be able to attend the class. Our favorite employee was Makenna (or mac attack!). This young lady is professional and does an outstanding job as program director for Platinum Gymnastics. She was accommodating to our family and shared with us information on make-up classes, holiday activities, and programming opportunities offered by Platinum. Even when we had to withdraw she was helpful and ensured that we were treated fairly. We do not live close to the area but the drive was worth it due to the staff, teachers, and of course Makenna. We even took advantage of a Friday fun night where our daughter attended and we were able to have a date night..Talk about #winning. read more

My daughter did a cheer tumbling class here awhile back and loved it, so we thought to look into it for her birthday and I sure am glad we did! It was great! The kids got to have a full hour of free time in the gym, playing on whatever and wherever they liked. I couldn't beat the price. $200 for 15 kids?! You can't find pricing like that anywhere else. We brought our own food and drinks and it turned out really nice. The "coach" that was there to help was super nice and we were very pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks Platinum! My daughter went to Platinum for about 8 months. She enjoyed it very much and loved her coach. The coach had a very balanced approach, guiding the girls thru their first competition season. Then the owners fired her. We tried to find out why and got no answers. The following week, the gym was closed and no one responded to phone or email. After lots of pressure from parents, the owners set up a meeting to answer questions, although none of them bothered to attend. The gym isn't very professionally run. It may be legal to fire someone with no notice, but its in bad taste. Our only notice was a cryptic email stating she was gone. The owners' plan was to replace our coach with a decade of experience with a young lady who'd only taught rec classes. There were over 20 girls on that team. There does not seem to be consistent training for the coaches, although they are nice and well intentioned. They have some male coaches but no male equipment, which meant that my son had to go to a different gym. We gave up on platinum and moved her to a better run facility nearby. Everyone at our current gym knows what's going on. The coaches are all happy obviously enjoy what they do. A huge difference. I can't say it's a bad place because my daughter had fun and definitely made improvements, but Platinum was not worth the headaches for us read more

SAD SAD DAY! New owners took over in December 2012 and the ship started to go down as fast as the titanic! Addyson and Gene are a disgrace! Promised no changes and that's all that has happened! Coaches fired and warm bodies put in there place with no gymnastics traning?! Excuse me what am I paying for? When your ratio is 14 to 1 coach. Really what can they learn no matter how good the coach is! Not to mention safety. Nasty emails referring to all the parents as "I've already apologized", I've thrown a monkey wrench in 40 peoples schedule but " non-negotiable"! I won't ever fully answer anything. Change my whole schedule and I still don't know who would be coaching my Child after she changes days and times. Oh and I'm sure prices cause that's all they ever do is add more money to things and when you ask why. " Per policy we do not have to discolse" I'm sorry, doesn't everybody want to know where there money is going! I'ts obvious it's not going to the coaches! Ownership never shows up to anything and they don't send enough coaches to meets! When they get enough complaints they send an extra coach for the last 3 meets!!! WOW! Coaches run unless you like abuse! Our only saving grace was Coach Brenda! Thank you for showing up and putting your Wonder woman cape on and making miracles happen! That's the worst part is seeing you so mistreated and not appreciated! Addyson coached my child for awhile and we got NO WHERE but when Brenda took over her level increased and confidence soared! I was a gymnast and I had great coaches. Thanks for being one of the great coaches Brenda! It's a sad day to leave you but I can't wait to get out of Platinum! Addyson and Gene have made this school unbearable! I have invested so much time and money into my child and will continue only at another gym. After many complaints they will address the 14-1 coach ratio. However not without telling you that theyve rearranged all the classes and not knowing who's coaching your child but that's NON-NEGOTIABLE! Everybody is on a car pool system or you would live there. Everybody pays a fortune for gymnastics but we still have to make it work for our work schedules. Sick of being treaed like we are replaceable and unimportant! Both of my kids (ages 8 & 10) took Rec classes at Platinum for YEARS...and for years, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not anymore. I am a business owner myself, and if I ran my business the way they do, I would be out of business. Their communication has ALWAYS been horrible, but because my kids enjoyed taking there we overlooked it. I do realize that their focus is on their "team" kids and I understand that, but when business ownership changes hands (as Platinum has a few times) you would think that ALL families would be notified. Not the case here. Nor are you notified when coaches turnover (which has happened a lot). My kids initially loved their coaches, and we knew who they were, but after they left it was never clear who was running the classes. When even the kids aren't crazy about their coaches, you know something is wrong. We watched others leave because they couldn't believe what they were getting for the money (or rather NOT getting). And while I have never been one to be "one of those moms" after a while I finally spoke up - because after SEVERAL years of classes, my kids should have known how to do far more than the elementary/beginner stuff that they were continually being taught. The last coach for my 10 year old was completely clueless and about as lively and in tune with kids as a cardboard cutout. The feedback from my daughter's coach was that she had some "fear issues". Um, really?!? Isn't that your JOB to help them overcome that? Apparently she wasn't very familiar with the concept of spotting. The lady at the front desk I took my issues to, if you're lucky enough to catch someone at the desk, did say that more of that "advanced" stuff was focused on when you are on "team". What a joke. My kids will never be, nor do they have the interest to be, at the competitive level, but after years of classes they surely should have mastered basic things such as a back bend, front walkover, etc. I took a SUMMER only gymnastics class at age 10 and mastered a back flip flop during that time....and yet they have taken for YEARS and can't even do lesser things than this? Ridiculous. Regarding their policies, we have always taken a break over the summer and back in the spring when I notified them, we even had a discussion about the deposit. Not once did she mention I could/should use that for my last month's tuition but rather that they could just hold it until we figured out our plans for fall. The decent thing would have been to tell me to use the deposit then for that month's tuition, esp if we weren't sure of our fall plans...because come to find out today, if you don't re-enroll your deposit is non-refundable. I even asked if I could at least have that amount credited to another family member that is on team there, and they said no....that it could ONLY be a sibling. Very much a "too bad, so sad...it's our money now, you're out of luck" attitude. I wouldn't have an issue with the whole deposit thing had I not had a conversation about our enrollment with the receptionist ...but we did. Incredibly misleading to suggest we just leave our deposit on the books instead of using it right then, especially if you say you are unsure if you will be back when they knew good and well I would be forfeiting that money if we didn't re-enroll. What a rotten and shady way to do business. We have been longtime enrollees not only in their rec classes, but also with their Friday Fun Nights...but they'll never get another dime from us after this. To add insult to injury, over the summer break my 8 year old mastered the back bend and other basics with help from a 12 year friend who takes at another gym....WOW. Guess my concerns weren't so unfounded, were they?!? So glad we spent thousands in tuition and in a month's time she ends up learning the things Platinum should have taught her over YEARS of classes, but didn't. My advice? Save your money folks....unless of course high turnover, horrible communication, and sub-standard rec classes are your thing. read more

My girls have been going to platinum for almost one year, at first they were very excited. They had a good coach who made the beginning class fun and also supportive at the same time. Then 7 months into the program he left, then we got another coach. He was less supportive, the girls really fought me on taking them to class. Then he left 1 month later, then we received another coach who again had the girls excited about gymnastics! However another coach quit so he was moved to the higher group. Then we had yet another coach who was talking down to my girls and showing them what they did wrong by making fun of them. I called and asked for a different coach for the last two classes. They were surprised by my request saying they had never before received a complaint about that coach, but agreed to change coaches. Then the girls last class they had that coach again!! To many coaching changes! The customer service was ok, could have been better if my girls didn't get that coach again. If they wanted us to sign up again then I wouldn't have put us with the coach who makes fun of my kids twice read more

The preschool coach we had on Saturdays seemed to be bored or half asleep. She didn't engage the children very much. The kids had to do the same boring stuff over and over again. We moved our daughter to another facility where the preschool coaches clearly love what they do and engage the children. I would also agree with the other review about poor management having to come in to drop the class even though you can sign up over the phone is ridiculous. read more

We had our son's birthday party at Platinum. The staff did a wonderful job, not only with the logistics of setting up the party, but also with interacting with the children during the party. There was a good mix of free play in the gym and games led by the coaches. All of the kids, both boys and girls, seemed to have a great time. The age range was from 3 yrs - 8 yrs old. Our party had the gym to ourselves, so there was plenty of space to roam around and play. There is also an air hockey table that the kids enjoyed. I highly recommend checking them out for birthday parties. read more

My daughter has been going here for almost two years now. She has been through the swizzlers, dazzlers, firecrackers and pre-team classes and the coaches have been amazing. They were so patient with her since she started out young with a short attention span to work with her in becoming more focused, disciplined, and skilled all the while keeping it fun for her. The coaches are very receptive to feedback and suggestions on working with your child. We have been very pleased with the training my daughter has received and look forward to her continuing her gymnastics training with Platinum into competitions. The owners also really have instilled a strong sense of team and support amongst the girls at the gym and it is so nice hearing all of the girls cheer on and genuinely support eachother. read more

This place is great! The staff is amazing! I often go on HEROS night for adult open gym. Love the new facility.

This gym just isn't the same anymore. Since the business switched ownership (and switched all but a few staff members), things have not been even close to the standards it once had. Many of the reliable coaches that my family grew to love were gone. The new coaches seem overwhelmed, distracted, and careless. My kids are even starting to notice favoritism. Might switch to a different gym if things don't start changing. read more

Wow! after reading all the reviews from others, It sounds scarry to me. Our current coach is looking into teaching there and most if not all the girls will follow. I hope we don't get mistreated in anyway because of the 6 years that my daughter has been with this coach I've been pleased, the minute I see my money going to waste with my daughter not improving on her skills as she should be or being mistreated, I'll have to leave and go elsewhere and I really can't give a true review since we're not there yet.
