    Virtual Cycle Class Schedule
    Tracey L.

This gym has all your needs. It's affordable and has live and virtual classes. I mostly take the virtual spin classes which are Les mills. The spin room and group fitness rooms are always clean, and there's classes all day long. Upon entering the gym you'll see very nice gym equipment, multiple rooms with different equipment, and many family friendly activities. I personally love the upper level weight room, cardio theatre room, cycle studio, and sauna. The only downfall would be at peak times it's hard to find parking. I didn't take too many pictures at the gym due to people's privacy.

Best YMCA I've ever been to; clean, new equipment and awesome amenities. The bathroom & showers are the best I've ever seen in a gym.

Ask the Community - CHASCO Family YMCA

Can I schedule lap swims or is it first come first serve?

Not to my knowledge. It's first come first serve. They have a schedule showing availability although it is cumbersome and not that intuitive to understand.

    Is their weights available?

Yes we have a full weight room and fitness floor.

    Do they have a sauna?

    Yes we do!

Are there yoga classes.? If yes are they crowded?

Yes we do! Schedule can be found on our website here: https://ymcagwc.org/?wpdmdl=305908

    Is there a hot tub?

    Yes!

Is there a women's only gym area? How private is it? How updated is it?

There is a women's only area and it is pretty private. There are some times that it is used for training, I believe, but is otherwise open. Looks recently updated but I don't remember what equipment is in the space...I don't believe it is a ton. I… Read more

    Is there an indoor track?

No we do not have an indoor track, but we do have treadmills!

I was reminded by Sergi to return a farmer's rack to its proper place, which I understand and take responsibility for. Once it was explained, I made it clear that I would follow protocol moving forward. However, what I found unnecessary was the constant follow up through text messages. Even after acknowledging the issue and agreeing to correct it, I continued to receive a second reminder. At that point, it stopped feeling like a simple clarification and started to feel like harassment. On top of that, there is a larger issue with equipment access. There is only one Smith machine, and during my workout it was occupied for an extended period by a trainer and her group. When I raised the concern, I was told by Sergi that trainers have priority because their clients pay both a training fee and a membership. As a paying visitor, that was frustrating to hear. Whether someone is a member or a guest, everyone is paying to use the facility and should have reasonable access to equipment. First come first serve is understandable, but allowing one group to dominate a single high demand machine without rotation makes it difficult for others to complete their workouts. I was told I could ask to work in, which I will do next time, but there should also be some level of awareness and courtesy from trainers and their groups when using limited equipment. Additionally, the ladies made the environment extremely loud, which made it difficult to focus and train effectively. I am more than willing to respect gym policies, but I also expect clear, respectful communication and fair access to equipment in return. Hopefully Mr. Sergi takes a closer look at both how members are addressed and how shared space is managed, because the current approach does not reflect well on the gym.

I've always had positive experiences respectful staff, professional communication, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location. Today I forgot to re-rack a curl bar. I normally always re-rack my weights, but this time I genuinely forgot. As I was walking out, an employee stopped me and said, "Hey, is this you?" referencing the curl bar. I immediately apologized and told him it was my mistake. What made the situation uncomfortable was what happened next. He pulled up camera footage and proceeded to look me up in the system, mentioning that I was visiting from California. The speed and manner in which he accessed my information felt excessive and unnecessary for what was a simple oversight that I had already taken responsibility for. There's a professional way to handle situations like this a simple reminder would have been sufficient. Instead, the interaction felt investigative and awkward. I won't be returning to this location. Thankfully, I have access to a gym at my condo complex and won't need to deal with that kind of environment again. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in the future, because it doesn't reflect the positive experiences I've had at other Anytime Fitness locations.

Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to answer questions or help with anything you need. You can tell they genuinely care about creating a positive environment for their members. It seemed like I had hit a wall with my progress so I decided to work with their new trainer Joshua. I joined for the classes, but there are some inconsistencies with the quality there. Pros: -Amar's Zumba class on Saturdays. Her routines are high energy, and her song selection is perfect, so you get a good workout. She's excellent, so it's understandable why the class is always packed! -Annette's Tuesday evening Body Works Plus Abs. She is very intense with the repeating intervals with no breaks in between, but you leave feeling accomplished! Cons: -Some of the classes are slow, and you feel as though you did nothing afterwards. I overheard other members with the same sentiment. For example, the Monday/Wednesday evening Zumba is too low energy. I felt like I hadn't done anything. Same with the Friday morning Zumba instructor. Cycle instructor on Monday is not intense enough, and they play the same 5 songs over and over (some of which are pretty lame). -Annette is leaving, so that Tuesday evening class will have major shoes to fill. The only thing I want to change about that class is the music- it's cheesy remixes that are not inspiring at all! - This past Thursday, I waited 20 minutes after start time with 5 other people for the Body Works instructor to show up. She never did. I remember her from when I used to come in pre-COVID. She is a good instructor who is not too intense, but she often showed up late. A 20 min. wait is ridiculous, though. The gym should have better communication with the instructors. "No one called in" is not good enough- call them! -Also, I echo what others have said about Victor. He is pushy as hell. I told him multiple times I wasn't interested in signing anyone up for a guest pass. He continued. The fool should just be glad I'M signing up for a membership! Overall, the gym is fine, I just wish there was a better selection for classes. I just want to get what I pay for. I typically come in at least 3 times a week.

Tonight I went in and went to use a calf machine, and there was no pen to load the weights on it, I went to the front desk and the young man there said oh yeah we know about that you gotta talk to the manager tomorrow or maintenance and I said, "don't you want to write a note down about the machine number? He goes "huh...". So I went over to the sales guy that was still there and asked him if he could do anything about it and he said "I don't care. I'm just a sales guy." He went on to say "If you want to get anything done, you need to take time off and come back to the gym between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to talk to the manager. He would even take note. This is terrible Customer Service. Terrible maintenance, and it makes me completely regret that I signed up with these guys just over a month ago. I'm now on the hunt to find something much better than this. Unless there is a serious change in their attitude about equipment maintenance, I discourage anyone from signing up here.
