I used to go here for full sets in between appointments at another location because this spot is cheap, easy and fast. Assisting my budget. However I stopped doing my nails for about a year. I decided to give builder gel a try. So I go and get them done , within two days the first nail had popped off like a sticker and then the following two days I had two more nails come off. I went back and asked for a reimbursement. Since I knew more were going to come off and they were not done correctly, meaning that I'd need to either damage my nails further with either a full set or gel. Either option they have to buff my nails again. The lady came around the glass asap, she was so quiet and she'd done this ~Duh, on purpose. Then she grabbed my hands so she could see without asking and holding g hard enough I had to yank my hands away, reporting that I just want a reimbursement. She said she would help me and asked me to sign in. So I signed in at the Little kiosk thinking my profile was needed to get a reimbursement. Nope. She was trying to get me to sit down so she could redo the nails that were missing. I told her I did not want to do that and wanted a refund. She stood up and went closer to me whispering again that she would fix it for me. I said great. She walked to the chair gesturing me to sit. Dude no. Come on. I asked her, that since she said she would fix it if she knew how to reimburse me. Whispering she said no and pointed towards a loose-leaf taped paper near the register that said they were not obligated to provide any services or returns per establishment discretion. I made 5 manicure and pedicure appointments for a bridal party two weeks in advance to ensure that we were seated promptly and together. When we arrived all of the chairs and the waiting area was full. Everyone was helped before us. They kept saying, "We'll get your party in soon." but we've now been waiting 55 minutes and they aren't able to get us in together. If I walk in, I expect to wait 10-15 minutes. If I have an appointment, they should be able to get us in 5 minutes. Very disappointing. I won't be back. Update: I've now been waiting almost 90 minutes. I've waited so long that I now need to skip my manicure. It's already a busy time getting ready for the wedding and now I need to squeeze in a manicure at a place that can get me in tomorrow. I have been coming to this salon for nearly a decade now. 9 years! Donna was amazing, the owner when I started coming. My nails have always been done exactly to my liking without sway. The prices are great! She recently sold the business to my NOW nail artist and quality has not decreased in the slightest. Sofia is wonderful. She takes care of me and all of her customers and there's no other salon I would EVER go to. Be weary of 1 star reviews. These individuals most likely were already having a bad day and don't understand the real goal of reviews. Do not go to this Salon!! 1st I asked how much a full set was and they said $52, I explained that I was in a few months ago and I was charged $40. A man who was doing nails at a different station started yelling at me and said because of the economy they are charging more, then he told me not to argue with him! I was talking with my nail tech when he interrupted . He stated that Gels are $15 more. It didn't add up she was going to charge me $52 but 40 +15= 55 not 52 I have been an Accountant for 18 years and I am very aware of the economy. There are no prices posted. They had 6 licenses posted but had 7 nail tech's which one didn't have a licenses? The job done on my nails was terrible one nail was damaged before I left the salon. This salon is price gouging, charging people different rates whatever they can get away with. They are telling you to pay in cash, the reason being they do not have to pay taxes on the cash they receive. They under reporting the cash amount they receive thus paying less in taxes. I recently had my nails done by Jesse and the nails themselves were fine... but I could tell she rushed. She didn't take her time on the design I showed her. She didn't ask for any of my preferences such as cut, shape of the nail or number of coats. I had to remind her otherwise she would do whatever she wanted. I had other very positive experiences with staff such as Deedee. She talked me into getting my brows done as well and I explained only wanted them cleaned up a bit. This is when I was met with a very unprofessional, rude attitude. I explicitly told her how I wanted them done and she did them a different way and seemed offended when I asked to look at them mid way through. When I told her that they were too thin she spoke to her coworker and laughed. Overall not an experience you need as a paying customer. Stick to nails here! I came to the shop to get a pedicure with acrylic and a full set of nails. When I sat in the chair for my pedicure I noticed the water was cold. I informed the technician and she added a little hot water but it was still cold. I asked to see the nail sticker book and was told by one nail tech they don't do stickers but was told by another they do have them. Either way I never got to view the book. The nail technician asked me did I want my nails trimmed down and instructed her to just trim down the big toe nail. The technician cut all of them. I have a fake nail with acrylic on my big toe nails and informed the tech of this so I could get a fill. She only filed the nails down that's it. Everything I asked for she completely ignored. After being in the chair for 15 minutes my pedicure was done and she had not scrubbed washed or did anything that is consistent with a having a pedicure. This was the worst services I have ever received. I will never refer or will go back to this establishment again. read more

But they switched up about three people to do one pedicure. If they know that you can tip, they will switch it up all the time. I once told the young man only one there, that I wanted regular nail polish, he asked me why I didn't want gel? And, thank God we sat next to my daughter, where she got to see this man throw a tantrum, and even though I tried to converse eight with him, he would shake his head, saying no. The one lady that does do a good job begin talking to him in their language once again, and made us feel completely uncomfortable. I have been going to this salon for 20 years. I know the previous owner and the girls who worked at the salon and always enjoyed going. I have not been back since the ownership changed a handful of months ago. I decided to stop in the other day and I was very disappointed. I went in with a girlfriend for a manicure and a pedicure. They only had one person working which was somewhat understandable because it was the middle of a day on a weekday. My friend was finished and left and then it was my turn. The nail tech seemed to be in a hurry and very rough with the cuticle trimmer. She cut me pretty good. I didn't make an ordeal out of it but I was disappointed that she did not even offer a discount. There was blood all over my polish and manicure and she just kept on going like it was no big deal. For my pedicure I needed the gel polish removed. My toe nails were left bumpy and rough from the gel polish, not smooth or shiny. She barely buffed or smoothed them. I could have done a better job myself. I will not be going back. read more

I have never gotten my nails done elsewhere, so there's no way I could've known that they were charging me for gels and putting on acrylics instead. They're cheating, lying, scum. AMAZING!! So, it had been years since my last acrylic set and I had went to Lexi Nails (2701 39th Ave. N.E. St. Anthony, MN 55421) and within days they were already pulling up on the sides. It was awful. They looked terrible, and were really thick!! Today I went into Platinum Nails hoping for a different experience, because I was already set on never returning to Lexi Nails. I was quickly greeted, and without a wait was seated in a chair. An was able to fix my nails for me (which required a lot of clipping away at the sides of the nails that had been starting to come up!), and she made them look FANTASTIC!!! Both are professional, have a friendly and fun manner, and do excellent work. A few years ago I had a gel manicure that started to peel up, and when I came in they corrected it immediately with no charge. Mistakes happen. The quality salons deal with them immediately and courteously. Platinum Nails did both. When my nieces stay over, we ALWAYS come here for mani/pedis.
