I woke up from a deep nap and walked to the living room. I immediately felt wet carpet. I assumed my dog had an accident until I kept walking and stepped into a puddle of water on my wood dining room floor. I proceeded to open the garage entry door, and saw my garage was flooded. I went to call a plumber immediately that could come out at this time (9pm). Out of three "24 hour" plumbers, Platinum Plumbing was the only one who said they could come out that night. I dried the water up to the best of my ability and went to grab some dinner as I didn't expect Nick to arrive so soon. While I was out eating, Nick arrived at my house. He heard the water still shooting out, and turned the water off from outside until I arrived home. He then explained to me that my water heater had cracked and was leaking. He advised me to call my insurance company and a water mitigation company to get the drying process started. I did as he told me. He came back the next day with a new water heater and went above and beyond with the repair and setup! He also added two catch pans and drilled a hole through the garage to let any other accident leak outside of the house and not into the garage. The next day after his repairs and replacement, the City Inspector came by to take a look at the job and said that the Plumber did a fantastic job on the repair and, the pipe modification looked perfect! He said most plumbers wouldn't have done what Nick did. See, what Nick did was re-route the actual plumbing to both water heaters so that they could act as one unit instead of two. This would take the stress off of one and distribute the workload evenly between the two units. Most plumbers would have just fixed the broken water heater and called it a day. We have been using Nick/Platinum Plumbing for almost five years and have always been pleased with Nick's work. We've had him snake drain lines, replace our water heaters (in the attic, which was no easy task), install leak-stop detectors, etc. Most recently we had him fix a broken sewer line (caused by tree roots penetrating a connector), and the fix involved digging about a 10' long trench a full 7' deep through our front yard. Woke up to jump in the shower and discovered we had no water pressure in the whole house. I called the city to come out and check it on their end and the city didn't show up until 2:30. Once they determined the pressure coming to the house was OK we called Platinum Plumbing late in the afternoon based on a recommendation from a friend and explained the situation to Brandi. She had Nick scheduled to come out at 7:00 that night. When he arrived, he explained everything he would be doing and even showed where the pressure reduction valve should be (which it wasn't) After a bit of digging he finally found the valve and showed us the broken piece. He then went to work on replacing it and even brought the valve up higher and put a box around it so it won't be hard to find should anything go wrong in the future. Overall Nick was very professional and kept us informed throughout the entire process and his price was very reasonable. Best plumber I've ever dealt with. I had nick come out because i had a pool of water in front of my water heater. i couldn't tell whether it was coming from the slab, the water heater or a pipe in the wall behind the water heater. After assessing the problem Nick found I had a pin hole in a pipe in the wall behind the water heater. He quoted me two prices one for just fixing the pipe and one in case he had to remove the water heater out of the way to fix the pipe. I felt sure he was going to have to remove the water heater because there was barely any room to get to the pipe. But Nick pulled it off saving me about 400 or 500 hundred dollars. He also found that the pressure release valve on the water heater wasn't connected, which could have been very hazardous if it had blown and someone was in the garage. It was a Saturday afternoon full of family activites and then a little weekend cleaning around the house. My husband was grabbing some cleaning supplies from under the sink and noticed that it was soaking wet from a leak....Great, right? I walked around and noticed a HUGE wet spot on the carpet, but it wasnt coming from the wall...my first thought, the dogs did something. I grabbed the blow dryer and that didnt help. We have had many other plumbers in the area repair and replace things at our house but always felt over-charged. When I was trying to replace the outside water faucet, the copper pipe broke, the main water line was closed, and I had no water going into the house. It was close to 7:00 PM and I was in trouble without water. Then, I called Platinum Plumbing, Nick re-arranges his evening schedule to help me and within an hour he was at my house. Two years ago my daughters called me at work to inform me that our house had flooded. I rushed home in traffic hour and on my way I called Nick with Platinum Plumbing. Before I could even make it home Nick was at my door waiting on me to inspect the issue. After a few hours all issues were fixed and the house was back to normal. Nick is a perfectionist. He's very familiar and observant of regulatory compliance and detailed technical aspects, and has the skill and experience to accomplish plumbing work as it should be done. Platinum's labor rates are very fair considering I got better quality and service than I previously received from a big chain plumbing company. Nick strongly suggests getting multiple bids, but I didn't want cheaper, I wanted better and I got it. Punctual is an understatement.... Nick calls you if there's even the slightest delay meeting your scheduled appointment time, but my experience is that you'll never be left hanging. A few months ago I bought a new dishwasher but couldn't have it installed because the shut off valve was too old and need it to be replaced. I have used Nick at Platinum Plumbing a few times over the years to snake out a drain and once for a water heater issues. I called yesterday and scheduled an appointment.
