Constantly coming here to shop! I've really found some gems here over the years! Only thing to complain about recently is their selling budget. I've come in right at opening and upon coming back to see how much I was getting for my clothes, I got told that they hit the budget for the day and to bring my clothes back (?) Very mediocre service since walking in. I tried trading with them, and honestly I knew they weren't going to take any clothes when I walked in because they never do. I just wanted to shop and see if I can donate them at least. (Which they don't anymore,so you gotta carry everything you brought in with you.) While I was shopping I noticed the girl who looks through the clothes to see if they'll buy literally just throwing them out of one bag into another without really considering anything. I had to look because I could literally hear her throwing them into the bin across the floor. When I got to the counter to make a purchase and pick my stuff up, the girl Amy in the most "robotic" voice I've ever heard, read off the receipt or policy they had on there, that they were "so sorry they couldn't take any of my clothes" but like in a sarcastic reading off a receipt tone. It really pissed me off to the point here I am writing a review, and not made me want to buy anything there again. Not that I need an apology they couldn't take anything, it was the fact it as so scripted she had to read a receipt to tell me just that without making any eye contact. DO NOT SELL YOUR CLOTHES HERE. This place used to be great store to sell gently used clothing, but instead of any of my lululemon polos (only had the tags cut off because they're too long and annoying but otherwise BRAND NEW), Travis Matthew clothing, brxton, and other popular brands (which most of isn't even a year old) they just continue to buy Amazon basics, Costco, or the ugliest graphic clothing. The "buyers" seem like they are high schoolers and go based on opinion without doing any actual research on the item. They haven't offered to buy any of my stuff for the last ~5 trips except a 5+ year OLD Nike golf shirt for about $2.50!! I only put it in there as a test since it's obviously outside of their advertised buying timeline but that's what they wanted instead of anything that actually makes sense. I brought in a total value of about $500 of 10 items and they were only going to take 3 items and offered me $3. Keep in mind that two items were brand new and only decided they wanted to take one! Had a bad experience yesterday this shirt didn't have a Plato's price tag, I went up to Alice a worker she seemed bothered and rolled her eyes, i basically I interrupted her I felt like. She gave me an overpriced tag, clearly you see the tj max price. I went back asked her she said rudely "yep that's our price" after I asked if it's still $20 after being $16.99. I've gone to this location multiple times to sell clothes not only they give you like $2 to $5 max per item but this store is so overpriced they don't sell much last time I checked they weren't taking anymore clothes clearly because they have so much they don't sell. im from the inland empire so i typically go to platos in corona. that place has disappointed me so often that i dont really like going to platos anymore. however, i was coming back from sd and thought to stop by this location to take up time. i spent 3-4 hours here. its a HUGE location with fire finds. there was so many gym shark, alphalete, lululemon, zara, and etc. (some of my favorite brands). i even found NVGTN shorts for $8. the girls working were nice and quick, which was nice because it was busy! they even allowed my dog inside and the other location in corona wouldnt, WHICH IS A HUGE PLUS. anywhere my dog is allowed is an automatic 5 star for me. another thing, usually platos mens section is garbage, but my boyfriend found soooo many cool finds. we love it here. thank you guys for the great experience!!! i will definitely make the 1 hr drive just to visit this specific location read more

This place plays the absolute worst music. I had a hard time not thinking about it while I tried to shop. The mens selection is middle class, suburban, football practice white highschooler. But really the music in the store was bad. All In by Lifehouse, Rescue by Lauren Daigle, Hypotheticals by Lake Street Dive, and Classic by MKTO are some examples of songs played. Really disappointed , the prices are really high! Lately everything has gotten so expensive. And the quality is not good. For example I would pay for a dress 23.00usd with a hole in it. Or a Ralph Lauren shirt 30.00usd. I can just go to the outlets for that and pay almost the same price for a brand new one. I used to love coming here because I felt I was helping the environment by reducing and recycling . But if I'm paying same price for a Nike top as in the outlets, it makes more sense for me to buy new, Maybe there was a change in management or something, but I hope they realize are not selling brand new items. Accessibility: there are at least two accessible/handicap parking spots directly in front of the entrance with ramps to get up to the building. Inside, the isles are pretty narrow though and there is only maybe one small bench for everyone to sit on (which is not enough). There are no seats in the dressing rooms either and it gets a little too warm in the store. Experience: I love this store because I can find fashionable clothes for great prices. Nike, Adidas, Brixton, Vans and so much more for less than original prices. Prices: Most shirts are around 6-15 dollars, hats are all 20, jeans, jewelry and shoes are all great too. The brand new looking Nikes can be around 60-80 though. The prices are great, employees are super nice, but the lack of seating inside, the narrow isles, and the hotness inside could definitely be improved. read more

Awful service. Tags are required for returns and the item we bought did not have a tag so there was no way to return the item. Jayla did ask if we wanted a tag, but we didn't know the return policy at the time of purchase. When I went to return it, she tried to convince me she explained us at the time of purchase that the tag was required for returns. She did not. I told them they should have provided the customer with everything needed for a return just in case they needed it, just like they provided the receipt. Priscilla, the team lead, after ignoring the situation for as long as she could, was sorry about the situation, but no alternative was offered. They can find price and charge you for an item that has no tag, but there is no way in the world to return it. read more

This location always looks so cluttered with items everywhere looking a hot mess. There's an a smell when you walk in from the used items. They definitely need to keep everything looking clean and smelling fresh. An irritating thing I encounter with this location is when I go to sell items they always reject everything I bring (even some name brand things) which are items I find are in a lot better shape than the things they are selling on their sale floor. They have many dingy looking things that they choose to accept but will reject everything else in a better condition. It doesn't make sense to me. They've implemented a 2 bag maximum per day, which would have been great to know before I drove 2 hours to bring my things. I have sold here for years and they've always been extremely excited when I come in with a huge haul because almost every item has tags on and the things that don't are in great condition. When I showed up with 10 bags today, the girl was extremely condescending and acted like I was bringing trash in. I told her to just cancel it completely as I would now be selling elsewhere. They really should add this new "policy" to their website so people don't waste their time driving to them. They should also remove the option to select more than 2 bags during their check in process. read more

Horrible place do not bother. Waste of time. I brought my stuff and I have heard stories where they don't look at all your items if their busy or just lazy. So I tested that and nothing was gone through I folded things certain ways to see and nope same way I left it. don't trust the 5 star reviews, all the San Diego locations basically bribe customers to give a good review for $5 off their purchase. if you're a buyer, prepare to be disappointed by the vast outdated selection of fast fashion items they have. if you're a seller, do not have high hopes, unless you have loads of SHEIN they will not buy much and give you the same speech about how they're at capacity. They refused to buy a brand new name brand bag with tags. offered me $20 for 3 pairs of sneakers in excellent condition and a pair of new sandals with the box never worn. Don't waste your time trying to consign anything here. I brought in 2 bins full of designer clothing. I need to get rid of a ton of stuff as I'm moving and going out of the state for a long while. Many of my items still had tags on and were never worn. I wasn't sure about bringing in luxury items but I brought a couple Ulla Johnson dresses to see what they'd offer for them. They told me (in mid June) that they aren't wanting any dresses. They flat out refused my Ullas. Didn't even want them. Sorry, Plato's shoppers. No Ulla steals for you for reasons unknown. The dresses were in pristine condition. They took the two bins and told me I'd have to come have several hours later. I thought it seemed an inconvenient process for the consignor, but I agreed. When I came back, they brought me my stuff in bags. I was confused. They said they wanted none of it. They had no room in their store for it. Why didn't anyone tell me this I called about bring in clothing? Why did no one tell me when I came to drop off? Why did they have me drop off and come all the way back and waste a big portion of my day knowing all along they had no room for any more stuff? The items they declined: New in box Ugg boots, several pairs of Agolde and Mother jeans, LoveShackFancy, etc all good sizes and in very good condition much of it new. I glanced around the store and saw a lot of worthless stuff. I don't get what they are doing there but I will not return to consign based on this experience and am not going to bother shopping there as the odd of finding gems items for a steal are close to zero since they turn away popular pricy brands. I wish I could give negative stars. I had a bad experience last morning. Service was never the strong point, what could you expect from a lot of teenagers getting minimum wage? So apparently they have new management, new sales computer system and new employees. With the transition of systems, my points just disappeared. But that is not the worst. This guy I suppose a manager was really rude. When checking for my profile, I give him my name, Daniela. He then calls me sir! After a second time he called me sir, I said " I'm not a sir". He didn't even look at me but at least said I'm sorry. As he was talking to one of the employees, he referred to me as "him". After finishing my purchase, I went to him and said "you should be more careful with pronouns and how you address people, because after telling my female name and correcting you, you still called me sir". I love this location. I recently bought a Zara leather jacket for under $20. I am sure retail it was over $100. Thank you Plato's!!!! I am an Escondido local and our family always shops and sells our clothes here. We usually make $40-60 a bag of clothes and we have all name brand items. I think most of the poor reviews are maybe off brand like target clothes and those don't sell well here because the tank tops from target are only $5 and people want to get back $5. It's saving the environment and using clothes you aren't anymore. They also do a lot for the local community having sales with your phone number and back to school deals for college. This place is a hit or miss but I really can't understand the 5 star reviews. They have to be fake. I do like shopping around here but the buying process isn't great. I think they judge you instead of your clothes. For example if you're young and dressed trendy they will buy more items than if you're in your 30s in sweats, even if it's the same exact stuff. A lot of the items in store are faded and piling but that's the excuse they always give me for not buying. I brought in a couple shorts I bought from the mall a few months ago that I didn't feel like returning. They still has the tags and are current style however they weren't interested and the person next to me seemed to bring cute good quality stuff but she was my age and they bought bothing. A dress I tried on was missing a strap and was held on by a hair tie. So I'm wondering if they only buy from their friends no matter the quality. I recently purchased a pair of lululemon leggings and when I got home and tried them on, there was a HUGE tear all across the knee- I've purchased other leggings from here that were damaged at seams but nothing as bad and as obvious as this I called and explained how they still have their original tag, as well as the credit card I purchased it with but wasn't able to find the receipt in the bag they gave me! I was hoping I could still return them or even get store credit, as they were the ones who bought put damaged merchandise out on the floor for purchase I definitely wish I had tried them on there but didn't have time so thought I would just do it at home.
