The store is nice and I know the owners are too but this place lacks in a couple areas. 1) I walked around for at least 20 mins with my arms full of clothes and shoes and nobody offered me a fitting room or an in to hold my items. 2) Another customer asked the girls up front for a fitting room and she just pointed in the general direction of the rooms and said someone should be over there. After this customer walked over there and waited with no help she came back to the counter and asked again and the employee still just pointed to the rooms and said someone was over there "somewhere" instead of just dropping her tablet and pausing her instagram post for 2 mins to get this poor girl a room. Which is more important hmm? 3) I asked the girls for help with something and I got a snarky comment in reply and an attitude like how dare I bother them. 4) This was only the second time I've been in this store and the first time hey offered me extra reward points for going without a shopping bag. I didn't even get the option this time around even after asking and saying I didn't need a bag, extra points or not. Still left with a bag ‍So where's the consistency? 5) I pointed out a hole in an item and the girls says "well it's only $12" Idc what the price is im showing you there's damage on your product. What does it being $12 have to do with why there's a hole? I always go to the PV location, I've spent almost my entire working career working for platos and I've heard good things about this one so I was excited to try it. I was disappointed with the lack of customer service. I'll give it one more try but hopefully the girls up front up their game a little. read more

Been here a few times to shop/sell clothes. The people who work there have a "greater than thou" personality. They do welcome you, but then are snippy and snotty if you're selling or have any questions. Should have taken my money and clothing else where. read more

The employees are all kind and attentive. Im rating 3 stars because of how quickly they review clothes. Which it can be great for people in a hurry but when you are shopping and buy shirts that have holes in them is super disappointing. If they took the time to look over the items a lot better there would be a better chance of catching this. In addition, they pass on a lot of newer items at times and buy older than 2 years items. I understand that the pricing is based on the system and JR brands are typically cheaper, however for designer bags they should definitely look into paying more because paying out 40$ then turning around and selling it for 140$ is a rip off. read more

I really liked the store, nice employes. The selection was good. But I brought in a huge stack of shirts and shorts and they said nice style but it's old. 99% of the clothes have never been worn , 90% was brand name : American Eagle, Hollister, ect. I am so disappointed in this location and how downhill it has gotten from the first time opening. When I first came here years ago all of the clothes were is pristine condition and always at a wonderful price. I was also able to sell all of my notch clothing for a reasonable price. Throughout the years I have seen some of the quality diminish overtime. I have always sold to them and have had no issues. Today I come in and I felt bad for the girls there were only 2 working and the girl who took my bags was extremely nice. Due to not a lot of employees being there I was okay when they explained it would be 45 mins. I came back after getting a text my items were ready to be picked up I come in to the other young lady in the store which was not the nicest person swung my bags over the counter and said " I'm sorry but we took no items from you" I politely asked " I've sold to you in the last was there an issue with the items" she explained to me that my clothes had "stains on them and rips" in a very rude manner. I was completely blown away as to knowing that I do not put clothing in there that have rips or stains as well as I brought in multiple pairs of miss me jeans as well as a lot of Guess products. It saddens me to look at the reviews on here and see that a lot of them are so negative but I can also see why people may not be shopping in the store as often. Hit or miss, it's has a great selection in smaller sizes. Sometimes lacking in size large, but again it's a hit or miss sometimes they have a better selection near the season change it tends to be slimmer pickins. Staff is almost always friendly and they frequently do contests/giveaways on Facebook or Instagram. read more

This place is different as far as shops in Glendale and it's nice to see a place where you can trade, sell and buy clothes. I admire a place where I can find treasures so this was right up my alley. My experience with trading and browsing their clothing selection was not as expected as I would imagine. Their policy states "excepting gently used and like new items in style" so I brought in freshly dry cleaned, stain free, like new clothes and brands such as Deisel, DKNY, Guess, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein and more. They put you on a list and give you a timeframe of how long the wait will be, the wait was an hour in my case.. That said I took my time perusing the aisles of distasteful weathered and faded Forever 21 , Charlotte Russe, Walmart, XXI and all the clothing brands that lands in the category of typically cheap and disposable garments. Their shoe selection is beyond me, worse than a thrift store, it was sad, soles worn down, scuffed up and athlete foot prone tennies. Anyway, their store is slightly dilapidated, out of date, not fashion forward and you would probably do better shopping at St Vincent De Paul's. I wouldn't recommend shopping here unless your looking for cheap, old, nasty, faded, and out of date clothing and looking to invest in some extra strength Tinactin. read more

This was a great store when It first opened but now the last few times I have been in clothes had lots of stains and wear . I also felt as if I was being judged shopping in there as I am still in my mid 20's I dropped clothes off to be sold and they barley even looked at all my stuff most of it was still folded and left at the bottom of the bag I had new with tags bcbg forever 21 hollister and heels/boots. One of the best thrift stores in the west valley!! I came in to sell some clothes (and I brought a lot!!). It took like 45 minutes and then they texted me saying that they were ready for me to come pick up my clothes. I love that it was same day pick up too. I only ended up getting like $8 because they only took 4 items. It was a little disappointing but looking at how the clothes were priced in their store, the styles, the condition of the clothes then I understood because the customer only gets 45% of that. Honestly I will be definitely returning here because of how affordable the clothes are. I saw this lady in line in front of me complain and flip shit because all of her clothes were "new" but it's not like everything you own will stay in style forever. Also like why are you trying to get rid of new clothes ? But she was mad because she was getting $15 for her clothes. I got less and I was fine with it! The employees Matt and Merecendes at the front were also super helpful and polite to me and all the other customers. I'm still amazed at how great this store is. I've been to other Plato's but have never seen one with clothes so well kept, a store so clean, and the employees so upbeat and helpful. I brought clothes here to sell. They were really nice and explained how it works- they sort through your stuff and give you cash or store credit that day. The good thing is they take all seasons, shoes, bags, jewelry, belts. It's surprisingly organized! There was a steady flow of customers shopping while I was there. I read some reviews and was a little skeptical at first about going to sell some of my clothes but decided to go anyway. I was surprised at how friendly the staff was and how quickly they went through my things. I got about $27 for six dresses which also surprised me because I was expecting to receive very little. I just read some of the reviews for Plato's Closet, and could not believe my eyes!! I don't know what store those people went to, because I have shopped for my four daughters at the Arrowhead location on Bell and 75th avenue., and I have to tell everyone, they not only have a fantastic selection of slightly used name clothes, but their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! I save at least $400 to $500 every time I shop their. I used to go to Arrowhead mall and shop for my daughters' clothes, but after dropping $1500 every time I shop for them, I decided my girls were only going to get new clothes once a year. But now, we shop almost every weekend! And we have fun doing it. I even found some awesome shoes and jeans for myself!! And I never thought I would be able to afford clothes for myself! So grab the entire family and head up to Plato's Closet. Nobody knows you purchased used clothes, except yourself!! read more

Went in to sell nice clean pants brand new from Levi's. They said they would call me when they were done looking at it and it was gonna be a 2 hour wait and I was fine with that. After 2 hours went by they didn't call or text. I ended up calling to see if they forgot or something and she said it's been done? And what surprised me was that they didn't except it saying it was "looked worn and used" when it was brand new?? Overall very bad customer service I suggest trying other platos closets. read more

Although the girls are very nice that work there, I bring a wide selection of stuff and they only ever really take 2 things due to "rips, out of style, faded" which is crap because I never bring outdated ripped stuff. I bring stuff that i don't wear ever and they never accept any of it but then I look through their store and they have stained, ripped, gross, outdated stuff. They need to have more open minded people and realize that the stuff people bring in sometimes is worse then others. They are unaware of the products they carry in their store and unnecessarily rude to customers who are selling to them. I don't think it's appropriate or necessary to claim the clothing has a smell and then refuse to elaborate. Telling women that their clothing is "out of style" and "really worn out" and that it "has a smell" is completely unnecessary. There are other ways of denying people's clothing without making them feel bad, and reading through the reviews I see that many women were angry at how disrespectful the employees are. The clothes were categorized by their color and that was helpful. The only reason they lost a star was because there was some action going on in the store which made me want to leave. One time I came here during their clearance event and got like 10 items for 25 bucks. I also have tried selling here a few times. They are super picky and don't pay you that much for your clothes.
