Came here with a load of amazing shoes - branded from Tory Burch, Stuart Weitzman, Zara and such. There was an entire bag filled with clothing. They wasted three hours of my precious time and took nothing. The stuff for sale was also gross, the shop smelled old and the clothing and shoes were not in good condition. Never going back or recommending them. Yuck. read more

Wow! Gross, dirty clothes for sale.. I found a shirt that hard dark atm put stains and food stains across the chest...$16, same price as the other shirts.. seriously? Then I found jeans caked with dirt on the hem.. Oh hell no. I left and won't be going back. read more

Nice employees and decent selection. Not a huge selection but if you look you will find good quality pieces. Everything is organized well by color and size. Prices are more than at your typical thrift but you're paying for a nicer thrifting experience imo (organization and cleanliness). Not as many accessories as I was hoping. 4 clean fitting rooms in the back. Left with a baby tee for $8 and a pair of Levi's jeans for $18. My first time here. Went here to sell clothes. They didn't choose anything I brought and I am not even sure if they went through my bags. I even called the day before I drove out to this location and the person who I spoke to never mentioned that they were only accepting certain items. I felt like that information should have been mentioned to me since I called and asked about their policy on selling clothes. Next time I know to ask for what exactly they are looking for when I come in again. The store itself had a really good layout and it was organized. Felt like some of the items were a little overpriced but some items were priced pretty well too. I gave this store a chance because I heard good things about it. Maybe it was just the day I went in. Great store with a solid selection of shoes and other unique finds. The inventory is well-organized, and there are plenty of options to browse through. The only downside is that some of the prices feel a bit high for a thrift store, especially compared to other secondhand shops. Overall, it's still a nice place to visit if you're looking for quality items and a good variety of shoes. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. Employees completely lack customer service skills and manners. second time coming here and its just as terrible as the first. i am greeted when walking in and followed to the counter to sign in for sale of my items. a different girl with black hair in pigtails and lots of facial piercings took over my bins of items and did not know i was the customer of those belongings therefore proceeded to make "jokes" and rude comments to first girl who signed me in about my sale stating she did not want to do it and "30 cents to $3 dollars was best offer take it or leave it" completely unprofessional and just downright rude. i have been going to san jose location before this and will continue to go to platos closet in san jose. june 18th at 8pm. complete waste of time and gas to be treated this way read more

The selection isn't really for me, so I can't comment on that. In the past I've really had nothing but great things to say, but the last few times we've come here it's not been the same at all, the customer service has gone downhill. We walk in, there's several workers here, we saw them, they saw us, no greeting at all. My daughter brought her clothes in to sell and they were just looking at her after she told them she's here to sell them. It was awkward, it would have been nice to provide some direction. Then they told her she has to be here by 5:30 (it was 3:15 when we initially came in) or the clothes would be donated and turned to store credit, ok fair. We got there at 5:20, the box still hadn't been touched and waited for over an hour, I missed an appointment I had. It was just a frustrating experience. I would like to suggest that the store calls when the clothes are ready or have been gone through, and then they should provide a deadline to pickup within the next 24 hours. That would definitely make it a more efficient process. read more

I would leave zero stars for this place if I could. Been coming here for years and only sold clothes once. Was excited when store re-opened after shutting down. No one answers the phone and message details lay out instructions for bringing in gently used items for sale. Message even suggests sending a text, which you will not receive a response. I drove here from Fremont and arrived just three hours after they opened, just to be told that they wouldn't accept anything remainder of the day because they had no cash. I will never come here again. Previous ownership was much more welcoming and accommodating. Do not waste your time or your money here, if you consider either of them valuable. read more

I recently went to Plato's Closet in Pleasanton to sell some gently used items. It started off fine. The sales associate to the time to explain the process. I had 3 clothing items, 2 pairs of shoes, and some semi-precious jewelry. She politely rejected one pair of shoes immediately since they were hiking boots. For the rest, I had to come back in about two hours. She was still polite. I thought everything was fine and came back to the store when I was texted by them. The minute I walk in, something felt off. The original sales associate gave me an odd look. I was then helped by a second sales associate who immediately told me that everything had been rejected and told me what sort of styles were accepted. Her attitude was abrupt and condescending. I was so embarrassed. When I checked my items in the car, I realized all the jewelry that I had been keeping in pouches was carelessly thrown in with the shoes and someone else's messed up watch was in my belongings. I will never go back again. read more
