I visited this store while housesitting. I always like to go here because being from the Stockton area it's very hard to find so many good quality items at 1 thrift store. I always find the best of the best here. Every time I visit this store. Today I got a pair of sandals that would've cost me much more at a regular store. They were $20 here. Very cute store with a strong selection of items. I walked in and immediately spotted a few items that piqued my interest. However, I do feel like some of their items are on a very pricey end, which does make sense for their brands but without some of their extra deals at the time I may have skipped some of the items I bought that day. What a great place to shop while supporting a good cause. This hospice thrift store has a great selection of clothing, shoes, home goods, kitchen ware, books, movies and other odds and ends. The front counter display section also has a nice selection of jewelry and accessories. On my first visit I was able to find a great lambskin moto jacket for $30 and a copy of 100 Years of Solitude for $1. On my second visit I found a two-piece, handmade earthen pot serving set for $17. Great deals! The customer service is friendly and welcoming. The store also follows COVID guidelines by limiting capacity and providing hand sanitizer at the register. read more

I visited this thrift store a couple of times this past month with my sister. It's located next to the Smart & Final off Diablo Road. It's a smaller thrift store which I like since it's not intimidating to go through everything. The two times we went they had a discount of 30% off red tags. I didn't find any keepers but my sister found a nice lamb leather jacket for a good deal. I saw a nice Christian Dior rain coat for $40, but too bad it's for men. read more

I went in today and the shop was nearly overflowing with merchandise. Sadly, it wasn't priced to sell. Overpriced used items just won't move and shoppers looking for value won't return. They would do better by halving the number of stores in the East Bay to save on rent and stsffing, and substantially lowering prices in order to cycle through inventory. read more

It's a smaller store compared other Hospice locations but similar in quality and prices. I deducted one star because I've noticed a couple of times at this location only, they were selling shirts that were very tattered and worn out that should never have been sold (this is not common but I've not seen it at their other locations). So I would say they need to go over donations more carefully. It's a great store otherwise! read more

"B" is for Belittling I have to start by saying that it is important to support local businesses, especially those that promote good in this world. The Hospice East Bay has six "shoppes" scattered around NorCal, some nicer than others, and they use the proceeds of the stores to help with multiple forms of medical care. This in itself is worthy of five stars right here, but my review mostly stems from how poorly I was treated, from the moment I walked into the door, to the point of departure. The hardest thing in life is to take a negative and turn it into a positive, and I'm trying hard to think about how this store could be more........more, empathetic to those who bring items that the shop can not "profit" from. I mean, some people these days use stores like this to bring in their "junk" or things that would never sell. It causes the associates' additional cost and hardship to get rid of the "trash". Some people even dump their stuff in the back, and most of the staff are elderly and do not have the physical capability of cleaning the crap that was left behind. All it takes in some cases is one bad incident, one bad person, or one bad "apple" to spoil the bunch. I get it. But when someone comes into a store with good intentions and has an item that is sentimental to them, and in good working order, only to be insulted, berated, mocked, criticized, and belittled in front of other staff, and customers of the store, to a point that they feel "inferior" themselves, then that is where I draw the line. If it was used underwear, I'd understand. Maybe you should get mocked. If it was occasionally used items to perform sadomasochistic rituals in the city, some of which happen to be very popular with our fellow neighbors, I'd understand. If it was any book written by Joan Didion, I'd UNDERSTAND completely. That woman's literature is insufferable. But good furniture in working order, should not be punished by a tone of disgust, and ridicule. I will try to turn this "negative" into a positive. DEAR MANAGER, STAFF, PROPRIETOR, ________, Before accessing anything, make sure that you have a place in the store where you can examine the items privately, and also provide a decision quietly. Outside would be nice, and you generally get light from the sun giving the person even better optics in regards to the specific item. It is totally within your right to turn something down, but it should be done discreetly and respectfully. Again, people have a sentimental attachment to even things that they donate. It can be from someone's recently deceased relative, child, or friend. Putting them down or questioning an item that someone is donating for the benefit of the store is a practice that will always lead to only one thing. A "one-star" review on Yelp. P.S. So much fun just snooping around- you never know what you'll find. They sell some pretty nifty hand made cards, beets the socks off of what you get at the card store, and at 2/$3, a very good buy. Friendly help, and the store is clean and well taken care of. read more

Classy thrift store. They expanded into a vacated store next to them so they are able to display more items now. Especially furniture. Some older reviews are outdated. They are open seven days a week for shopping. Donation hours may be a little more limited. They are selective with what donations they take, which is a plus for the shopper, but less so for people donating. Their cause is good so do not let that stop you from donating. read more

Once again, thanks to the Hospice Thrift Shoppe Hop, I learned of this cute little thrift store located in a shopping center in Danville. When I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the sales associates. The store is so meticulously organized that I was EASILY able to find the items that I needed. It turns out, the store manager prides herself on her precisely catalogued store : ) I was able to find the clothing items that I needed, try them on, and pay for them all in under 20 minutes! The employees -- from the sales associate on the floor -- to the cashier ringing up customers -- were all lovely, as was the store manager. It was such a pleasant environment that I would return the next time that I find myself in Danville. Parking was also super easy in the large lot. read more

Cons: * Bankers hours (not that convenient, either for shopping or donating) * Some snobby staff * Higher standard for acceptable donations. I have donated clothes, furniture, and household items here a few times. Today the volunteers seemed almost put out to accept the nice leftovers I brought them from a family estate sale. Next time, I will just call the Oakland Museum White Elephant Sale folks (who do pick up), or put them on Craigslist ("Free" section). I prefer to give to hospice, but more importantly I prefer to give someone who wants & appreciates what they are getting. I'm not bothered if they can't use something I bring. In the past they have rejected things like rollerblades and that was fine by me. read more

It's been a few years since I've been in this thrift store and I found the store well stocked, nicely organized and the homewares section nicely decorated for fall and the holidays. I found the staff to be less than helpful when my daughter wanted to see something in the glass case. I had to say excuse me about a half a dozen times to get someone's attention behind the counter. Either she was ignoring me or was hard of hearing. Not sure. I finally got her attention and she showed me the items. She acted like I was a bother. I was with my teen and didn't want to mention I thought the staff was rude and unhelpful. When we left the store, my teen daughter commented that she thought the staff was rude compared to the last time we visited a few years ago. I do not think we will be returning to this place anytime soon. read more
