I went through my insurance to find doctors in my network, then cross checked with Yelp reviews and am SO happy I landed here. Beyond Dr. Platt being a caring and wonderful doctor, the staff here is great and you cannot beat the convenient Broad Street location. I went in 2024 for my eye exam and new contacts and the process couldn't have been easier. Contacts came in quick and the team here did everything they could to keep costs down. I am also prone to styes and other eye conditions during times of stress. I recently moved and found myself with a very nasty double eye issue. I called and was able to be seen same day! Dr. Platt took me seriously, helped me with antibiotics and drops, and is committed to helping patients understand their eyes and ocular health. Like other reviewers, Dr Platt really makes going to the eye doctor a positive experience. The staff is really nice as well. I got contacts for the first time in my late 30s and Dr Platt and his staff were really patient in trying to teach me how to put in and take out the contacts. Dr Platt is also very friendly and chats you up during the exam. He answered all my questions about contacts, eye glasses, and made me feel confident in what he was telling me. Went to see Dr. Ronald A. Platt, O.D today for an exam and contact fitting. I'm not sure why the practice is called Platt and Platt Drs, and who the other Dr. Platt is. Anyway, I would have to agree with the previous reviewer that this eye doctor is great!I've had glasses since kindergarden so I've been to several eye doctors myself. First, I was able to get an appointment the same day on a Monday. I had lost my glasses the weekend before, and my previously scheduled appointment with another doctor wasn't until Thursday. I showed up at 1pm for my appointment, and his waiting room was empty. I was surprised because the other doctor I had intended to see originally in the same area was booked up all week. I'm glad his office had the availability to see me the same day. Second, Dr. Platt is very thorough and takes the care to answer your questions and lets you know exactily what he is doing for the exam and what aspects of your eye he is looking at. My visit took a little longer than an hour! That is not including the 5 minutes to fill out paperwork and the 5 minutes I waited in the waiting room to get my eyes dialated. My actual contact fitting was maybe 15 minutes. So the rest of the time was spent with the doctor actually looking at my eyes.- Dr. Platt took his time tuning the phoropter for me (that black metal lens machine thing with a bunch of dials on it). It seems like he went and tuned several more settings than I have experienced in the past, very carefully, too, by making the lens go blurry, clear ,and blurry again and asking me where the clear spot was. I've never had a doctor go into such detail. He even made me look through both eyes and did adjustments for both eyes at the same time, too, to make sure the prescriptions worked out together. For all the other doctor's Ive been to in the past, it's just flip, flip, flip (no fine tuning of the lens) and 3 minutes for each eye separately, and done. The amount of time Dr. Platt spent, really made me feel like I was getting the right prescription especially since i have really bad astigmatism in both eyes. One last thing, Dr. Platt's sense of humor is a bit sarcatistic. He teased me about losing my glasses among other things. Sarcasm is not my kind of humor and I find it somewhat awkward so just warning others who absolutely cannot stand sarcasm. Overall Dr. Platt is very nice and competent if you look past his sense of humor. I highly recommend his practice! read more

Fast and reasonably priced. I went there after hitting a milestone birthday to have my eyes checked. They were able to set a quick appointment, and when ordered, glasses were revived in a week. Easy pick up and walking distance to many locations in CC. read more

This eye doctor rocks. Like, best one I've ever had, and I've probably had at least 6 or 7. He takes the time to explain things to you, find you the right prescription, discuss your habits and eye health. He even noticed that I had a pattern of redness that indicates an allergy to contact solution preservatives and had me switch solution types. What a difference! I feel like it takes a doctor who really cares about what he/she is doing to make observations like that. P.s. they have moved to the Land Title building. The new offices are much nicer than the old ones. read more

Dr. Platt is great. Very smart, dry and witty sense of humor that I definitely appreciate, and always thoroughly answers the billion questions I have on virtually everything. His practice has been around for a while, and he's seen pretty much all there is to see with eye issues. I've been seeing eye doctors since I was born, and am very severely nearsighted. I'm also slightly astigmatic in one eye, which was causing blurred vision, and I had no idea why. He was the first doctor to point that out, and to give me a contact lens that fixed that issue. His office is a bit outdated and really could use sprucing up. (They still keep paper files and have this boxy TV from the 1960s.) But Dr. Platt is awesome and I always look forward to my visits with him! read more

After moving to the city I needed a new eye doctor. I tried one and felt rushed and that my perscription given to me was wrong so I went to Dr. Platt out of pocket and it was a wonderful experience. I appreciate how much time he took to find the perfect prescription for me and get me the proper eyecare products. My eyesight is poor, and unlike the first doctor I tried, he didn't make me feel bad about my vision but saw it as a challenge to give me the best vision he could. Staff is friendly and Dr. Platt is very warm and funny. I image I am the worst patient he has. I have trouble letting him get close to my eyes and even letting him give me drops. However, he has had an amazing amount of patience with me and jokes that its a good thing I don't need contacts...yet. He answers all my questions. I never feel rushed. And even though I don't wear glasses, they seem to have nice options at the office. Would recommend to anyone. read more

Dr Platt changed my life. I spent 30 years wearing my contacts for only 4 hours at a time. The Dr I had before put me on restasis and wanted to put plugs in my tear ducts. Ew! I went to doctor Platt and he said, "Hey try this solution with no preservatives" and just like that I can wear my contacts for an entire day with very little irritation. 30 years of eye doctors and NOT ONE DOCTOR suggested simply changing the solution. I will never go to another eye doctor. Dr Platt is simply awesome. read more

Dr Platt friendly and skilled at his job. His office is also trans friendly - I have seen him for years, but recently transitioned, and everyone in his office was quick to switch over pronouns and name. I wish all doctors were this accommodating. read more

Had a great experience there recently. Platt was thorough, never rushed, answered all my questions and I felt very satisfied. I was unprepared for the cost of the contact fitting, which he stated was something he did with all new patients, but it was worth it. The office staff was great on the phone and in person and I'm glad to have a new eye doctor! read more
