Several years later I was informed that the replacement lights were no longer available which left me with the decision of having my tree restrung with new lights or buy a whole new tree. I was not happy with the attitude and service from where I bought the tree so I went to Ambrose. The restrung my tree with many more lights then it originally came with and it looks amazing. Best of all, after three years I have had to replace only two lights-that's two lights total after three years compared to replacing dozen(s) of lights each year from the garden center. Do yourself a favor and go to the pros first. You will save money in the long run.

They don't have their main cottage open for hot chocolate this year but it's super adorable. The workers are very helpful. They were all wearing masks! Yay! It's great to see businesses taking this seriously especially in southern Wisconsin... They have a lot of trees but I wouldn't say this is the biggest tree farm I've been too. However, they do have some great trees over 10ft which can be hard to find. I wanted a 12 foot or bigger tree and we found at least 3 that would have been perfect. Here's the really amazing thing: they send a tractor with a forklift out to help you carry it in. That was amazing. I've had to lug huge trees a long way before and this was awesome. A holiday staple Living in the Rockford area…read more My Family has been visiting for as long as I can remember and we always have a good time. We always meet our close friends and their family. A tradition that started with 4 or 5 of us and has grown to 8. We have not actually bought a Tree from there in years (They're Overpriced) but our friends always do, they love the tradition of cutting their own tree, their oldest son has taken on the responsibility, something he is very proud of. There is obviously MUCH MUCH more than just trees though, Our kids love the animals, santa, snacks, and shops. We always bring a few adult beverages to chat around the outdoor firepits, spend quality time together roaming the property, petting the animals, indulging their delicious foods and making new memories. Williams is without a doubt the best option in the Rockford Area and I would highly recommend bringing your family and friends.

Seems like the majority is Frazier but we went pine this year for the first time. Loved the different areas spread all over to cut your own. They even have atvs driving around to take your cut tree to the shake station. If you have little kids there's some fun stuff and they have drinks and food. Happy we ventured here. Worth the 1-1/2 hour drive.

Great variety…read moreof trees, prices are better than average and all the tools you need (saw, twine, etc) if you don't bring your own. Very laid back and friendly staff willing to help at any step of the way needed. Leashed dogs are welcome, ours was thrilled to come along for an afternoon out with us! There is a small little barn that has some well cared for baby animals that can be pet, Santa was there behind a gate in another small, picturesque barn for socially distanced pictures (no lap sitting, perhaps for the best regardless!) and free cocoa and coffee in another small barn. A taco truck was there that smelled delicious, but left before we got a chance to sample those smells - we were bummed! Apparently there are hayrides and a few other things that weren't available this year because of COVID, but we didn't feel like we missed out. Best of all, we ended up choosing a beautiful blue tipped spruce that ventured out of the normal pine territory we are used to, and it was fun to find the perfect tree that we weren't expecting. Lots of photo opportunities. There on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so it was busy - but still felt safe and was manageable. We would go back next year, despite it being an hour plus drive for us.

In years past, we payed half down and half on delivery. But after the change in ownership, they insisted that special orders require full payment; so we payed. They told us it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. After 8 weeks, I called and inquired and they said it should be close to that delivery date. Their previous orders with that company have been close to 8 weeks, but they would check into it. I called at 10 weeks, still nothing but they promised to check. No one got back to me. I called again after 12 weeks and again they promised to check; but this time someone actually checked. What she discoved is that Village Green never placed by order until June 9th!! The only thing they said is we apologize.

If you care about which type of tree you want, you can check a map to get to the right area for your tree. You can catch a tractor ride to your location, or just walk for the experience. Everyone is pleasant and helpful. After you find your perfect tree (we've been there later in the season in past years and there seems to always be a good selection) and shoot the obligatory family photos, you take your tree to the lane to get picked up. They shake and wrap it while you pay and get your complimentary cookies and cider. It's a great time and makes for a wonderful Christmas tradition. We'll be going back again year after year.

My kids have a great time taking the tracker ride out to the North Pole Station where our Christmas tree hunt begins. Everyone from the crews picking up the cut trees, balers, the ladies serving hot chocolate are extremely helpful and friendly. By far the best experience my family has ever had, looking forward to coming back next year.
