Wanted breakfast and i love lil diners so i stopped by. Service was so good. They were so kind and attentive. It was cash only. I'm sad i don't live here cause i would love to eat here again.

On a whim, a dining partner and I decided to try this place. I can't believe that living in a place almost 9 years I had never been in. I can guarantee you that i'm going back. Our waitress Rachel was very friendly and helpful. They have a special for $7.25 that gives you two eggs(I chose scrambled with cheese), two pancakes, home fries, toast if you want it, and a choice of two meats(I chose sausage and bacon). The coffee was good and also hot. My dining partner chose the same special with french toast and sunny side up eggs. They give you a lot of food. There were local people there and a good vibe all around. If you're looking for good food this is it. If you blink twice you might miss it. For lunch they offer a hamburger with chips and a pickle. Also a cheeseburger with chips and a pickle for $3.05 and $3.25 respectively. Add 25 cents for take out. I will be returning soon.

The Large Breakfast (I think that's what it was called).

I was on my way to Willow Tree. The parking lot was ridiculously full and I just didn't want the hassle. I kept driving. Didn't want Dunkin, Honeydew is closed (gasp!), and didn't want Burger King. Ive driven by Platters so many times over the years, but I've never eaten there. The place isn't much to look at. Don't let that deceive you. I often go for breakfast alone, because I get up much earlier than my husband and daughter. I was able to grab a table right away. My waitress, Janis, was super nice and attentive. Menu is on the table already, and I start to take a look. She came right over with the coffee pot. She filled that coffee cup so many times that I stopped counting after five times. I'm a big girl and hell, I like to eat, so I got the Large Breakfast. Two eggs, potatoes, two pancakes or French toast, choice of two meats ( I got bacon and sausage). The best part? I was offered sweat bread for my toast! Omg yummmm. Janis said they offer lunch, too. It was such a nice, homey atmosphere. Everyone seemed to know each other. I can't wait to go back, both with my family and by myself.

The restaurant itself needs a little TLC, especially on the building's facade. The inside is cute old timey diner. Our waitress was very kind- attentive but not overbearing and made sure that we were comfortable. We were given two menus (breakfast and lunch) and the choices seemed endless. They even had specials on a white board. I ended up ordering a tea and the crabby man special. This special had a crab cake, bacon, eggs, toast, and homefries! All for $11.50. You can't beat that price. The crab cake was made with imitation crab but it was still delicious. I liked the breading they used and the portion was large. My eggs were cooked perfectly over easy. Bacon was nice and crisp. Home fries could have used more seasoning but were cooked well. Toast needed a little more time in the toaster. But overall, for the price this was a great meal! My friend and significant other enjoyed their meals as well. Jake's may not be my go to spot in Fairhaven but I'm happy with the service and food I had today! And $38 before tip for 3 people with three meals and three drinks is an absolute steal.

First, our waitress was great, although I don't know her name. The shredded home fries were awful, I could still taste them an hour after we left. A simple egg sandwich had a funky taste, I believe it was the bacon and the coffee was not great. We reached out to a friend from New Haven after we left, she said we should have gone to Phoenix restaurant. I don't work for the Phoenix, I believe it's important to share actual experiences, so restaurants hopefully improve.

When we arrived, there were a couple tables available. One of the staff members told us to pick one. Despite the place being small, they have made good use of every inch of the space. They even have counter all around the kitchen where you get from row seats to watching them cook your food. The menus are right on the table. They have a good variety of savory and sweet breakfast plates including some Portuguese inspired options. I went with the Azorean special (2 eggs any style with linguica, sweet bread French toast, home fries, and toast) with an English muffin instead of toast ($1 up charge) and my mom ordered the 2 eggs any style with bacon, wheat toast, and home fries. My sweet bread French toast came out first, followed by everything else a couple minutes later. The sweet bread French toast was good. I thought it would be overpowering but surprisingly it was about the same if not less sweet than a traditional French toast. It was very soft and airy. The Linguica was okay. The home fries were our favorite, They were crispy little squares, almost like biting into the best part of a fry over and over again. The service was excellent here. Our waitress was efficient and very kind. The prices are very reasonable. I would come back. I did not see a parking lot, but I was able to find street parking quickly.

Food and service is great! This place has been around ever since I can remember. Great breakfast!read more
