    Skyscraper burger

We enjoyed a fried clam/scallop dinner along with the 'SkyScraper' burger. Service was excellent as well as the food. We are looking forward to returning once the outdoor patio is finished. We did make a reservation and they had our table waiting for us upon our arrival but reservations really aren't necessary.

True Score: 3.5 Stars Local Institution, good prices We expected to be wow'd by everything we ordered. We had never been there before so thought we should try the clam cakes - fried and breaded, didn't really taste any clams. The only thing "seafood" about it was the tarter sauce. My wife and I had a seafood casserole and a fish and chip, which were very tasty but we both liked the picked beets the best - not such a great commentary for a seafood restaurant if we enjoyed the beets best of all. To us it was just average fare; nothing spectacular to write home about. The fish and chips had a strange doughy batter. We had a waiter who was pretty slow but the waitresses were running their butts off so kudos to them for a wonderful job. Thanks

Cove Surf & Turf sits quietly along New Bedford's streets, where fishing boats still define the nearby horizon. During daylight hours, you might walk past without a second glance, but evening transforms this modest establishment into something worth discovering. The interior speaks of the sea without trying too hard - sailboats glide across purple-hued murals, seagulls float on painted clouds, and that simple truth hangs on the wall: "If my dreams could come true, paradise would be in a little bungalow somewhere by the sea." Fishing nets cascade from wooden beams, while Edison bulbs cast gentle light across a thoughtfully stocked bar. They begin with a complimentary clam cake, and immediately, you understand this place is different. Not the heavy, doughy disappointment that plagues so many coastal kitchens, but something entirely different - light, perfectly fried, with clam juice likely replacing water in the batter. It's the kind of detail that separates the methodical from the passionate. The burger arrives like a statement. It's Surg and Turf here. Half a pound of beef crowned with a ton of bacon that's actually crispy - the kind that makes a sound when you bite it, the way bacon should but rarely does in establishments twice the price. The bulkie roll bears the marks of a serious grill, transformed from simply bread as a conveyance to deliver the main event, but here as an essential part of the experience. The onion rings deserve their own moment of appreciation. Massive hoops wearing the lightest coating of batter, like they just happened to pass through it on their way to your plate. Someone in this kitchen understands that an onion ring should be about the onion first, everything else second. They might be the best I've encountered in years, the batter dry but flavorful, the onion sweet and perfectly cooked. At the bar, watching locals drift in and out, you realize this is what so many places have forgotten - no pretense, just solid cooking from people who understand the importance of doing the small, simple things exactly right. The prices are very reasonable, the portions don't leave you wanting, and nothing tries too hard to impress. It just does everything exactly right. Cove Surf & Turf remains steadfastly, wonderfully real. It's the kind of place that reminds you why we go out to eat - not for the trendy spot, but for those rare moments when someone in a kitchen you've never seen sends out a plate of food that makes you believe that something as unpretentious as this place could deliver more than many places with three times the Instagram wattage.

Affordable, delicious, casual. The three most important words I can use to describe Cove Surf and Turf. Heavy on the nautical decor, the vibes are relaxed and laid back. The staff are polite and helpful. Service was a little slow, but otherwise great. Warm and helpful, they were very accommodating After sitting and getting our drinks, we were served a complimentary clam cake. Light, airy, big chunks of clam and the fritters had a lovely clam flavor as well. Probably one of the best clam cakes I've had for some time, and I live in Rhode Island. I ordered the calamari plate. It was perfectly cooked. Lightly breaded and crispy, I only had to add a little lemon and salt and it was divine. The fries were excellent as well! My partner got a burger with onion rings, he had nothing but great things to say about it. He gave me one to try. It's clear they're made in house, hand battered and fried with care. And the onion inside was a thick slice, no skimping here! Overall we had a great time! If you don't mind waiting a bit between courses, you'll find this place has excellent food made by skilled hands. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

Was just ok. I'm sad to say the food was not impressive. I had lobster casserole and my husband had the burger. Was decent amount of lobster meat but the stuffing was disappointing. My husband burger was definitely delicious but the onion rings were undercooked. Very small inside, quaint. Service again was just ok, bartender made decent drinks. Had nice conversation with another couple who are regular's.

I came here for lunch on a weekend in April. There were a few people dining inside but the outdoor section didn't seem open. I got the large size fish and chips with 2 fillets. The batter was crispy and the fish was flaky. The fries were fresh and the tartar sauce was quite good. Service was excellent. Overall it was a good experience.

It was my first time here and the service and food were great! I ordered the fried clams app, half and half platter of oyster and haddock, and a lobster roll. I also got a free New England Clam Chowder for checking in on yelp too! The food was great! The seafood was fresh, the batter was perfect and crispy, and the lobster roll was full of big lobster pieces. I do wish the lobster had more spice and the roll had some butter flavor to it, but it was still a great sandwich. The soup tasted really good too! The amount veggies and clams were proportionate and the soup was creamy, delicious, and hearty. My favorite dishes were the clams app and the soup! I loved that the pieces of clams were meatier than typical clam strips. If I'm back in the area, I would order from here again! The staff are very friendly and the food is good!

Fried food good, lobster roll tasted like it came from a can. Nice server. Area is under construction, so not as scenic as it will be.

There are many different types of seating - bar, high top tables, benches, regular tables, and a cute and comfy corner booth with throw pillows, which is where we opted to sit. Service was excellent. I was expecting to have to order at the bar, but Stingy Alley has table service. My husband ordered the espresso martini and I went with the Dubai chocolate martini. We walked in just after 8 on a Friday night and were greeted by two very friendly young women at the host stand. We opted to sit at a high top table in the lively bar area. Every seat at the bar was taken. Our server was friendly and attentive, and brought our drinks, $8 for a Sam Adams seasonal draft, and $15 for a Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned cocktail (which was mixed well and nicely presented, sans the anticipated Luxardo cherry). My friend ordered the Fondue Burger with truffle fries. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium) and smothered with a delicious cheese sauce sprinkled with fresh bacon crumbles - decadent and delicious. The fries are thin and crispy (the best way) and served in one of those cute little metal baskets with just the right amount of truffle. I had the salmon rice bowl which was better than I expected it to be. The fish was fresh and cooked nicely, (medium, although it could have been taken off heat a minute or two earlier, but not what I consider 'overcooked' by any means), and sat atop some very delicious coconut jasmine rice. The bowl also had a heap of zingy red onions, thinly sliced perfectly ripe avocado, a yummy mango salsa, and was drizzled with a very nice cilantro crema. Perfection. I ate the whole thing, felt a bit overstuffed and unable to taste the burger (next time!) I am very happy to report that Pine House Kitchen & Bar got four thumbs up from us, and I look forward to visiting again with family and friends.

The parking lot was packed, but it wasn't very busy inside. It was a lot smaller than I thought. There was a dining room room to the right when you walked in with a few table tables, and then a larger bar area with tables around that. We were seated in the bar area. Inside was really nice. I really liked all of the wood finish inside and how it was decorated. I had the crispy coop, which was a fried chicken sandwich dipped in hot wings sauce with Gorgonzola and coleslaw. The chicken was really good, very tender. It had just enough spice. I ordered truffle fries on the side and they were unbelievably good! I ordered a special winter cocktail with tequila and apple cider that was really good. It was a decent size drink too for the price. My wife had the fish and chips and said it was really good. She ordered plain fries as all of the meals come with herb fries automatically. My friend had a burger and actually complained because it was too salty. They were kind enough to take half off of her meal. Our waiter was excellent. He was super attentive and we were never without a drink. We will definitely be going back here and trying other stuff.
