I've come here on and off throughout the years of visiting my family. Overall the waitstaff are great and I love their food. I love their Linguiça omelette. The home fries are deep fried, they are okay but lack some in flavor. The biggest thing this place needs though is a thorough washing. Every time I come the table sides are sticky even though I've seen them wiped. read more

Got take out for me & hubby last night. Very good and did not take a long time to wait for it. I got the country fried sirloin steak dinner and he got the corned beef sandwich on rye. Very very good. My dinner also came with the kale soup. (I gave it to hubby to have as I ate enough. He said it was good, but he still likes mine better. :D I put both stew beef & chourice in mine. He said the one I make is much heartier, but he did say it tasted good, though.) We'll definitely go back sometime soon, though, cause he wants to try their lamb chops and their ribs. My boyfriend went there with his daughter last Saturday. They ordered me a turkey club to go. I read the menu before I told him to order it, so I know what was supposed to be in there. I told him no pickle, no coleslaw and he said he ordered it like that. When I opened it later there was coleslaw in it-not the worst thing in the world but I hate it and I hate it if it touches my other food. The sandwich was not a club sandwich. It had no bacon and was made with two slices of bread instead of three. I was so angry that my boyfriend paid for this stupid sandwich. I think it was the saddest looking sandwich I had ever seen. The weirdest thing was there was no pickle, as instructed but someone decided to put a garden salad within the takeout container. So bizarre and this was the worst part for me since the salad had a pile of raw onions on the top of it. I despise onions. Of course they were all over the fries so now the fries tasted like onions. I tried to eat the sandwich even though it wasn't what I wanted and second bite-- an onion in my sandwich. I've never had a good experience at the symposium, we definitely won't be back after this. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Servers are quick and food has never disappointed me. My boyfriend and I come here after the gym almost every Sunday. Sometimes there is a short wait but very worth it. I get the 2 eggs meal and I almost always get at least one panckae because they are literally the best I have ever had. And not to mention the home fries are amazing and they have little pieces of onion in them makes it soo good!! We definatley recommend this spot...and its affordable. read more

Symposium is a small family owned place that used to be very good from every aspect unfortunately, i will probably not be returning anytime soon. Food was reasonably priced for comparable restaurants in the area as far as portions & taste. Inattentive waitstaff was horrible and to concerned with there own personal life's and the end of shift to provide customer service. Was shocked the waitress never asked us about our meal or even was the least bit friendly leaving me surprised this would happen. read more

Today I went in to have breakfast to say my plates was thrown on the table, plus I did not get what I was supposed to get for 9 dollars. Not only that, but when I complaint to the waitress (Erica) she grabbed my plate walked away leaving me mid sentence and even didn't apologies. The place looks dirty and it looks like has not gotten clean for months. Bathroom are so dirty. I will NOT go there again. Do not recommended it. read more

Tonight was not good. I decided to try something different this time and I'm sorry I did. I ordered the Souvaki and it was very tough. Then, as I got to the last pieces of the meat, it tasted spoiled and I had to spit it out into a napkin. My husband thought I was being overly dramatic, but he tasted it too and had to spit it out. It tasted like a garbage truck. Thankfully, they didn't charge me for the meal. I also noticed that my salad was not cold. It was like it had been out of the refrigerator for awhile. the eggplant salad rocks my world. earthy, garlicky, balsamicky, heaven. it'll make your breath glow in the dark, but i could still eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner by the spoonful. the family that owns Symposium is Greek, and all of the Greek specialties are out of this world. try the Symposium Chicken Salad, it has char grilled chicken, red peppers, mesclun, cukes but the stars of this dish are the homemade honey balsamic dressing and the feta cheese which is imported from Greece, made from sheep's milk, and stored in brine. really, the feta is so creamy, salty, rich.... try it with the eggplant salad. i like to think of the Symposium as a fancy diner. the menu is standard diner fare, club sandwiches, fried seafood, all the breakfast foods you would expect. the difference here is the quality of ingredients, everything is so fresh. it's little things, for example the fact that they roast and slice their own turkey and roast beef for the sandwiches. everything down to the dressings are homemade. at family owned restaurants you can taste the love in the food, and I see both of the owners there in the kitchen doing the cooking every single day. Maria is wonderful, all of the recipes are hers, and she is simply an amazing cook. I also see their kids working at the Symposium pretty often. they clearly take pride in their restaurant and it shows. the entire place is sparklingly clean, including the bathrooms, and it is very nicely decorated -- feels so home-y. the rest of the staff is fantastic. i've worked in restaurants for many years, ranging from dive bars to white table cloth fine dining. this is a diner, and you get diner service. short, sweet, and to the point. some people might see this as inattentive, but really, that is the type of service that goes in a diner. regardless, your waitress will joke with you like youre a regular, while providing polite, accurate, and speedy service. the prices simply cannot be beaten, especially on their specials. freshly caught seafood and black angus cuts of filet mignon? yum. ask about the soup du jour, Maria makes wonderful soup (try the lentil!!) leave here feeling full of delicious food and of Greek hospitality! read more

It was a quick lunch on a Saturday before running to Foxboro to Trader Joe's. As always the food is very good. I ordered the chicken salad wrap with fries and soup. ONLY 7.95! It was excellent. My girlfriend and I go here for breakfast every weekend and we've never really had a problem. The food is good, the service is good, but the only thing that may be an issue is that their may be a 5-15 min wait time. It's seat yourself so if you're waiting in line and theres a group of four in front of you and you see a table for two you can cut the line! nothing says horrible service like walking into a restaurant and waiting there like a fool while a bunch of 20 somethings stand around, look at you, ignore you, and shoot the shiz with one another. The place was busy but not so much as a greeting while 5-6 staff stand around front counter mingling amongst one another. Ive been there before and food was ehh, a bit pricey considering the quality. My partner and I go here every two weeks when he's off work for breakfast. I have never eaten lunch or dinner here. But breakfast is perfect every time. Quality diner food, great service, love the old time charm. It's our favorite breakfast spot and almost like a throw back. I feel I have a very good palette and I enjoy their coffee and their breakfast food. What do you expect out of a diner? My husband & I work different shifts and do not always have time to meet up for dinner. Well we got lucky and had about maybe 2 hrs to kill before I had to go to work. We decided to go to The Symposium. We went in and was seated. Hubby ordered motts sticks and a cup of kale soup for me plus our drinks to start. We both placed our dinner order. My hubby was having a burger with french fries and I was having a steak & baked potato for dinner. Not long after that our server comes with our drinks. Not long after that she comes with the motts sticks buf no kale soup so I asked her about it. She tells me I"ll go check. So I say thank you. I watch her go in the back and she is coming out of the kitchen with our dinner! My hubby's mottz sticks are gone and I never got my soup! So then I smell something aweful. It was my steak!! They served me a spoiled steak that stunk so bad you could smell it upon delivery. So at this point I' m not happy. The server was the worse I ever seen and I work as a cook in a restaraunt! I asked to speak to the manager. The server asks me " is everything ok?" I was really in shock when she asked me that. I told her no. Everything was not ok. The owner who was the cook that cooked the spoiled steak came to our table. I was wearing my uniform ready for work completely dressed in black with a chef jacket on. I think this stumped him. I told him I am not happy with the food or service. When you dine you either get good for or good service here I received neither. I told him I ordered a cup of kale soup as an appetizer and never received it after asking his server 3 xs. I told him I am not paying for what I never got. The server who never cleared the table responds you got your soup. My husband I looked at eachother. My response was well if I got my cup of soup then where is the cup it was served in, it would be here , you have not cleared the table. You never checked on us while we were dining and to top it all off you served me a spoiled steak!!' The owner admitted it was spoiled said he tried to use it before it went bad. Guess what he was late for that. He asked me would you like me to go cook you a fresh steak? I told him no. Just take what I didn't have off my bill. A fresh steak is what I ordered the first time. So he fired up a new steak and new sides and upgrated my cup of kale soup to a bowl. So we get a bill lol. My husband pretty much dined alone as I pretty much sat there ticked off at this place. They should have comped the whole meal truthfully but I have no problem paying for what we get. We get outside and now it's too late to eat before work. They made me a new steak and side to go along with a bowl of kale soup I made sure I threw it in their trash. I will not eat at a place with spoiled food and bad service. You can kill someone or make them sick serving bad food. Good thing I'm a cook and ate at work. This place lacks food & service standards. I give it one star because I have too not because they dererve it. I am not the only person they sold spoiled food too. SMH. They should be ashamed!!! This was my second time here. The first time I ordered a chicken wrap sandwich which I enjoyed except for the fact that there were several pieces of chicken that I had to spit out because they were too tough to chew (it can happen). I recommended to my boyfriend that we go there because overall my experience was good. Very sorry that I did that! We both ordered a cup of Kale soup that had no taste, potatoes or beans and you had to use a magnifying glass to find the meat it was truly terrible. He ordered a stuffed quahog which was all stuffing with very little flavor. We both had coffee that we were never offered to have refilled so we had to ask for refills. He ordered the LARGE fish and chips well if this was large I would hate to see the regular size. while eating it he found several bones in the fish, this has not happened to us in many years. I ordered the special 1/2 sandwich, soup and salad. The salad was great, a very large garden salad with lots of different veggies. Menu stated that the sandwiches (which were listed under sandwiches on the menu) came on several kinds of bread which were also listed on the menu including bulkie rolls. I ordered my half sandwich (a hot pastrami) on a bulkie roll. The waitress came back and told me the kitchen would not put it on a bulkie roll so I would have to order something else. I was very disappointed as I was really in the mood for pastrami but agreed to order the chicken on white bread. She returns again only to tell me that I can't have that as one of my choices. Now the menu clearly state's any sandwich on any bread but apparently it should say only these sandwiches on these breads. I again ordered the Pastrami but on white bread with mustard. This came and had a very good amount of very good pastrami but no mustard which I had to asked for. When the bill came I fully expected to be comped for at least the Quahog but it was the full bill I felt bad for the waitress who was new and had nothing to do with these very poor policies. I would not recommend this place if for nothing else but the poor customer relations from the owner or manager. We very rarely complain when we go out but if we do, even for something being cold the owner or manager always comes over and apologizes and asks to replace the meal or comp it to which we usually just ask to have it warmed and then when we get the bill often will find that something has been compted or deleted from the bill for our inconvenience but not this place they truly didn't care. We paid and left a tip but will never recommend it or go back. read more
