Just came here to purchase a new, used snowboard. They had a decent selection of boards (mostly youth sized ) and a really good selection of used skis. Went in looking for a very small version of a skateboard and found the perfect one used at a good price (I believe this is called a penny board for some reason). I cannot say enough good things about this store and about Miguel. At the beginning of the year I drive up here from Toledo to try and find ice skates and snow pants at the wrong time of year. I found them, and was so impressed with the store that we went back a month or so later and bought adjustable weight dumbbells. Two days ago, *this* dumbbell broke one of the dumbbells. I didn't know what to do; I thought for sure that we would just have to replace the set, which would be very expensive. I decided to call the store, though, and they had me talk to the manager, Miguel. He asked me to bring the broken dumbbell to the store and he might be able to fix it. I brought it in this morning, and in about 10 seconds, he looked at what was wrong, then went behind the counter and produced a replacement part, FOR FREE. This store will have our business forever! I needed to take ice skates back, several months after buying them. We hadn't used them yet, but when we tried them on our son, his coach said they don't work. Play it Again, was extremely flexible and worked with us on the problem. I was there just the other night, 20 minutes after they closed. I was super bummed when I walked up to the door and saw they were closed. The manager saw me and my disappointment, and opened the door and let me shop after the shop was closed! I was tickled by the personal care for customers. I was able to get my first pair of skates and now I can skate with my son. I'm so excited. read more

Some spotty selection, and some very tired items, but overall a good value. I've bought several (extremely aged) sets of cross-country skis here over the years; most were fairly beat-up, and all required some knowledge to get sliding well, but that suits me fine. If you're excited about XC skiing and want something work well and fit well, I'd probably hit REI or my less-favored Sun & Snow --- but if you know how to cudgel something into shape, this place has the raw materials. I'm not a fan of their new gear, for any sport --- it tends to be low-end stuff, at not particularly bargain prices. Come here for the used stuff, and stick to that. I'd probably stay away from their downhill ski gear --- sub-rental quality and some things old enough to predate the last decade-plus of quick-turning gear. Soccer, hockey, and lacrosse gear all ranges from nicely-usable to barely-intact. read more

Great store. Reasonable prices. Very helpful staff. I bought a bike lock from here; price was $20, which is about what I would have paid at a big box store, and the guy at the counter helped me out by cutting off the zip ties and getting the keys off the little metal ring they came on for me. I'll definitely go back, when I need more stuff. read more

I was searching for an indoor rowing machine and called many different places and checked Craigslist for a few weeks. Finally tracked the down the exact model I was looking for at this Play it Again Sports. I live in Kalamazoo and wanted to make sure the machine was in good condition before making the drive. The employee was kind enough to text me pictures and hold the rower for me. Greatly appreciated that. I have been to several Play it again stores and can say this is the nicest one I have seen. Clean and well organized. Employees were very helpful and courteous. I mentioned how nice the store looked and he told me the manager owner demands it stay that way, and they like keeping it that way because he is a good guy. That says a lot. Great price on my rower, I'm happy. If I'm in the area I will swing by to check out more equipment. I think it's important to let a business know when they are doing a good job and providing good service. Keep it up! read more

For a used sports good store, this place is pretty awesome. Staff are extremely friendly and made light conversation. The store has a lot of stuff, both new and used, and a decent selection of used goods for any sport imaginable. Of course there's a wide array of wear on the used items, but they're priced accordingly and perfect for those laid-back weekends where you just want to kick a soccer ball around, rollerblade for an hour or so, or throw a baseball back and forth in your yard. Because I'm not too much of an athlete, can't speak to their supply of new items and how they price out when compared to other stores. But for used items, it's my go-to place. read more

I was hoping to get a few bucks for the old figure skates, hockey skates & two pairs of roller blades. But when I set down the box, the guy there said they couldn't take anything that is more than five years old, because now roller blades have fabric boots. So keep that in mind. Only relatively recent technology. I guess Play It Again is a great deal when you have a couple of growing kids that need the next size up as they grow. read more

They sell used sporting goods and fitness equipment, but sometimes the selection is pretty slim. I was looking for a bike at the end of spring and they only had one in the store. They have what you might need for golf, skiing, water sports, baseball, hockey, and etc. Good way to work some recycling into your recreational pursuits. read more

Super helpful and honest. If they aren't sure about something, they'll quickly find out for you. I went in for cross country skiis, and an employee walked me through the different bindings, boots, skiis, and poles. I found some in my price range, and they're great! read more

I had a great experience at PIAS! I went in and asked for help getting mitts and a ball so we could play catch in the backyard. The gentleman who assisted me asked lots of questions (new or used? age of kids?) and showed me a bunch of options, allowing me to look at the prices without making me feel cheap or self-conscious. I got just what I wanted at a price I was really happy with. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. I went to trade in my old hockey gloves in hopes of getting some store credit and buying a couple pucks. I was offered a very fair deal on the gloves and appreciated the transparency in the value assessment process of my gloves. With my store credit I went to buy some pucks and the employee at the counter comped me an extra puck. If looking for resell some of my old equipment again I will mostly return to this Play It Again Sports. read more

Play it again sports has mainly hockey and lacrosse products, and not much of any other sport. I play 4 sports ( baseball, flag football, martial arts, and crew) and I have found myself wound up at great sports stores like Dick's or Advantage sports to get the equipment I need. Nevertheless, their prices are low. read more
