Today I received a bright and cheerful email that I've been successful auto renewed for $49.99. I had to call a second time and deal with this. Really poor customer service and nasty marketing strategies. We would have liked to support a real shoe store and not give our business to Amazon.

I recently had a frustrating experience at your store. I asked if I could be helped at self-checkout and was told I had to use the main checkout lane. I then went to the exchange/returns counter to see if they could assist, but was again told no and directed back to the same long line. This was confusing, especially since I've been helped at both self-checkout and the exchange counter in the past. I understand that there are policies in place, but the current setup doesn't seem efficient or customer-focused. It would make more sense to allocate staff where they're most needed, especially during busy times, to better serve customers and reduce long wait times. Because of this experience, it honestly feels more convenient to shop online rather than deal with in-store inefficiencies.

REVIEW: Per usual, my shopping experiences at retail stores are ^always hit and miss. I've been to several Big 5's in the area and not one of my experiences has been better/worse than the others. Exactly. The. Same. I seem to interact with (at least) one great customer service employee, usually working in the shoe department. Most times I can find what I need in shoe, color, and size. When I ask a few questions about coupons and the like, the response is "you'll have to check up front". OK, no problama. When I spoke with the young employee about any coupon offers, it was as if i was pulling teeth from her. I also asked for a price check on an item I was interested in purchasing, and when I pressed further for it, she had an absolute flat affect that I wondered if she was was OK. (Literally). The price check inquiry ended up opening a huge can of worms as it wasn't in the system at all, etc. etc. The young manager came up and gave it his best shot, but to no avail. We are living in different times. However, if customer service isn't a deal breaker for you, I would recommend stopping by here. They seem to have a lot of items on the floor, but IMO finding your item still might be a hit/miss.

Right away, Jim took the time to explain how everything works and walked me through the different club options, including the pros and cons of each. Even though the store was very busy with a lot of customers, he never made me feel rushed and took great care of me throughout the entire process. What I appreciated most was that he never tried to upsell me or push me toward the most expensive clubs. Instead, he genuinely listened to what I needed and recommended the set that was the best fit for me. Customer service like this is hard to find these days. I highly recommend Roger Dunn, and honestly, a big reason why is Jim. If you're new to golf or looking for honest advice, ask for Jim--you'll be in great hands!

What bothered me most was how he treated my grandma during checkout. She was trying to make friendly conversation, but he was very short with her and didn't smile once. I understand everyone has bad days, but it was disappointing to see that kind of attitude toward an elderly customer who was simply being kind. We still made our purchase, but the interaction left a bad impression on all of us. I asked for his name after we checked out, so I'm not even sure if he gave me his real name.
