One of the best things since sliced bread! I literally never heard of a smoothie/fruit bowl until a few months ago, at least not the way they make it. Unbelievable what I have been missing. The ingredients are extra fresh and there are so many choices for your liking to the different bases as well as several options for fruit toppings. My favorite and only bowl I've tried thus far is the açaí bowl-8th Avenue. It is not too sweet or too bland. It a mixture between eating healthy and indulging in your favorite dessert. The customer service at this location is pretty great as well. So, if you like refreshing drinks and something quick and out of the ordinary, please visit ASAP. I would give this place 5 stars because the bowls here are amazing but I have to give it a 3. I'm originally from New Jersey and I believe that's where this business originated from as well but the Atlanta locations compared to the New Jersey ones are a crazy comparison. The ones out here close at 7... the ones in NJ close at 10! That's a ridiculous time difference. Also if you ask for extra anything on the side in NJ they'll give you half a cup. Here it's a little container. It's just weird if you're gunna have a franchise, they should all be on the same page. We tried the Pura Vida açaí bowl and the 12oz Mermaid Fuel juice. Both menu options were tasty and fresh, albeit too sweet. The Pura Vida especially was very sweet with the honey, strawberries, and blueberries. They were very generous with the fruit, which was great. Stopped in after my morning workout, needed a quick protein fix before going grocery shopping. I got the Açaí Power bowl but into a smoothie. I didn't want a bowl l, I wanted to grab and go. It was delicious. I love a fresh smoothie especially in the morning. I do think 10-11 dollars for bowls is a little high, but I do love the quality of products they use. I didn't think I'd find a place that would be priced higher than Kale Me Crazy. This bowl turned to smoothie was delicious but I wished I could of gotten more for the price. Great choices, not only can you get smoothie bowls, you can also get smoothies, juices, and coffee! The bowls don't look big at first but they are extremely filling and delicious. There's I believe five different bases to choose from: pitaya, açaí, green, coconut, and chia. Personally have tried the açaí, coconut, and chia and they are not too sweet. All come with granola automatically which doesn't have any nuts (great for those with allergies!). They have preselected topping choices and you can also choose personally what you would like your bowl! The staff were patient, friendly, and have made great recommendations. Today I drove over 40 minutes in traffic to support this business which I frequent about once every two weeks. When I arrived at 6pm thinking they closed at 7pm there was a sign on the door stating that this week the hours would be from 11-5pm. This is not the first time I have made the drive for them to have closed early. I checked their social media account before leaving and there was no posts about closing early. I did not have a good experience due to poor customer service. As soon as I walked in, I felt rushed to order and unwelcome when I wasn't ready. It was my first time checking out this spot, so I needed a few minutes to look over their huge menu. I made sure to step out of the way, so I wasn't blocking anyone else's access to the register. When I told the girl at the register that I needed a minute, she seemed annoyed and scoffed at me. This was frustrating because, again, it was my first time there. Anyways, I proceeded to order the Nutelloco Coconut Bowl. It was ready within a minute, but there was barely any Nutella, definitely not the same amount that was in the picture on the menu. The only saving grace to my experience was how good the actual bowl tasted. The coconut base was very refreshing, and the fruit tasted fresh. However, I don't think this bowl is worth $11+ at all. This is way overpriced for such a small bowl. At this price point, I would have expected a lot better customer service, and for my bowl to include all the ingredients that is advertised. read more

I swear the kids that work here make up their own operation hours. One day they close at at 7 the next day they have temporary hours of 10-6. Then you think ok so tomorrow I'll come before six and there's a sign on the door they close at 5. I don't know if management is to blame or the high schools kids working there. read more

I know Playa Bowls is a chain, but it's a great one. They have tons of great choices - seriously, the menu is gigantic - and they let you make infinite customizations. They legitimately have the best selection of bases (get half coconut, half green - go crazy!), fresh fruit and toppings of any smoothie bowl establishment. I love the Coco Craze - coconut base with tropical fruits. The Chamblee location is convenient for me - lots of parking in an area with lots of other stores and restaurants.
