I really appreciate the variety that they have here when you have a craving for Asian inspired food. Shrimp fried rice, dumplings, pork buns, different types of noodles, plenty of different pork and chicken dishes to suit your pallet. And if you love shrimp, there are lots of shrimp options too. I saw on another customer's plate a dish that I had to try and I'm so glad I did. It was the salted crispy chicken from Nanbei Gourmet (B11 on the menu). It's really delicious and perfectly seasoned and plenty to share. I think the young man at the counter was having a bad day or a bit overworked because he wasn't very pleasant but I do appreciate him telling me sorry for the long wait, because it took a while to get my chicken, but it was just a busy time around lunch. It was worth the weight though. Next time I want to try those meatballs they really looked delicious and someone I was with ordered them and they had my mouth watering. And also, I got the barbecue pork on rice and the Singapore rice noodles from Hong Kong BBQ. The noodles have three different meats in it and I believe curry seasoning. The flavors are delicious. The barbecue pork over rice was pretty simple and plain, but I do appreciate that it comes with some steamed bok choy because it's nice to have a good balance of some vegetables in there with all the starch and pork. There's plenty of seating so if you go with a family or a larger group, you should be good to go and there's a place to seating outside. I had no problem finding a parking spot at 1 o'clock in the afternoon on a Saturday. Located about 15 minutes away from the Chamblee train station, this has a nice selection of Chinese/Asian food in the different food stalls. I highly recommend the wonton soup ($10.59 w/o tax) from Hong Kong BBQ and the fried crueller ($2.20 w/o tax) from Lanzhou noodles. Service is prompt and you know the food is cooked fresh as it takes about 10-15 minutes for your order to be called. Depending on the food stall, there is tea/water available for customers. Bathrooms are reasonably clean and there is a dining room attendant to clear off tables if needed. read more

There's a great selection of places, but they also serve pretty much the same thing. The little park with bridge and fish outside is impeccable and so nice to have. That's why it gets a full rating. The food there is very average not gourmet. It's still for the price is fair. Located in the "Atlanta Chinatown" area, this is a highly socializing & busy communal food spot offering authentic choices of Chinese, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Laotian & Korean food. The restaurant I visited, was the Chinese kitchen & will review that shortly. The Great Wall of China is depicted on two corner walls, as well as a statue of Guanyin located in the corner. The Red and gold Chinese paper lanterns hanging above the walkways give off that authentic "Chinatown" atmosphere. The retail portion includes unique shopping to the culture - hair salon/supplies, clothing, tailor/dry cleaning, bookstore, electronics, cosmetics & even a pharmacy. The Atlanta Chinatown is certainly the least glamourous Chinatown, especially when comparing it to its other big city counter-parts such as San Francisco or New York City. Located in Chamblee, the food court is easily the main attraction of this Chinatown. Other than this, there is a supermarket, a bakery, a dim sum restaurant and a few other dingy stores. Food court it is! Although the space itself is not even the biggest I've ever seen, they've managed to fit 7 different restaurants inside. There is even some variety, hand pulled noodles, Chinese barbecue, Szechuan food, and even a Korean station. No matter what you are in the mood for, there is surely going to be something that will be just right for you! I've eaten at every restaurant and across the board, a solid 4 stars for the food. I have my favorites (Nanbei Gourmet & Chongqing Hot Pot), while there are a few places I tend to avoid. I will eventually write reviews on each individual spot, but this is for the Chinatown overall. Depending on when you visit, seating may be extremely difficult to find. The lunch hours on the weekends are the peak hours, where there are essentially no tables. There is a little garden outside with some extra tables, but on the inside, it can get a little chaotic. None of the restaurants really have an indicator for when your food is ready, so people tend to just yell out different orders and people stumble around each other to get their food. Does this Chinatown have a general wow factor to it? Absolutely not. But will you get a good meal for a good price here at the Chinatown Food Court? For sure you will! If you want authentic hand pulled noodles and your friend wants authentic Peking duck and your other friend wants stir fry- this is your place! It's nothing fancy at all, but it is where you go, and a lot of people go, for authentic Asian food. It is a food court, like in the name, with 5-7 different food stands that offer different items. Everything we tried was delicious, and it is so easy to get jealous seeing what other people have ordered as well. English is definitely not the first language spoken here and they are super accommodating when trying to answer questions. They pictures of the food helps too. read more

Gave this place a try and it's basically a bunch of Chinese takeout places with a variety of choices to try! I tried the Singapore noodles, was disappointed because it usually comes with chicken and beef, but they only make it with shrimp here. The portion was massive though. I visited this food court for the first time in 2017. Recently, I was craving Chinese food and I remembered this gem. The prices here are affordable and the food portions are huge. This time, I ordered Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and the Lamb Hot Pot from Chong Qing Hot Pot. The eggplant dish was topped with a savory garlic sauce and was mildly spicy. While the meat in the Lamb Hot Pot was cooked to perfection, the entree had way too much chili oil. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. Asian food is my favorite, and I spent a Saturday afternoon here enjoying just a few of the delectable cuisines you can get here at Chinatown. From Ramen, soup dumplings, authentic Chinese bbq and Cantonese...there is a little something of everything here. It was also my first time visiting an Asian bakery, and the drinks and pastries were delicious. The environment is beautiful, with lots of outdoor seating room and greenery. I was here Sunday night for one of the periodic Meetup family dinners I've attended over the years. I noticed one of the stands where I'd never ordered had apparently changed its name. Nanbei Gourmet doesn't seem to have its own Yelp entry, so this will have to serve. I ordered Ma Po Tofu, one of my favorite dishes and one which is very suitable for sharing. Asked medium spicy, and it came a little less than that, perhaps catering to Caucasian taste buds. The preparation, for me, was one of the best of several that I've had from other stands here, both for flavor and for the generous amount of ground pork in the sauce. Price posted on the wall was $10 (certainly fair), but the amount on the CC was $11.18, so it seems that they raised the price slightly without updating the menu. That seems to be the case with the other stands as well in some cases. It took a bit longer for the dish to arrive than I expected, and it seems that there might be only 1-2 people working this stand. They also closed earlier in the evening than the others, as it was dark at 7:30. read more

This local china town was the first place my dad took us when we first moved to Georgia a while back. Back then, this place was super crowded and I would always thought how cool and big this place was. Coming here as an adult makes it feel a little different. This small little plaza is a little different from other cities China town but it gives you the warmth. All the small store operates by older people and it makes you want to do your best to behave yourself since they're super friendly. Originally, hubby and I wanted some pastries and just have a little walk on memory lane but we decided to go into the food court since I haven't ate here in awhile. It was crazy how there was no one here except for my Hispanic brothers and sisters supporting the business. We took a few steps to take a look at all the stall and the food looks amazing, and we decided to go to two places and ordered 3 dishes. The amount of food they're given was huge and it's so cheap from outside restaurant. We have the spicy fish pot for like $15 and it comes in a hot skillet, we also ordered fish with eggplant and stir fry seafood noodles. Everything was $40. We couldn't finished and had togo the rest. Please support this small local business since no one paid attention to the local anymore. All people cared about now is the big franchise and/or the esthetic of the place. We've visited a few times now with family and friends. It's a great place to grab a few plates and share if you have friends with similar palates. It's also interesting seeing everyone else's choices as it plants seeds to try the next time! It's mesmerizing watching the pulled noodle stall and the smack on the counter. The roasted duck always calls my name. If you're trying to sneak in some veggies, there's a green bean dish that is always good. I don't even like green beans but I'll eat theirs. Not to be confused with the Chinatown Feud Court, where gladiatoral battles are fought to the death before a baying crowd of foam-mouthed ruffians in the audience. I can't tell you where that is, otherwise I'd have to feed you. This is one of my favourite places in all of Atlanta if not my absolute favourite. English spellings ftw. There are several amazing food stands in here, and two of them in particular stand out. Which are Chongqing - where you can get amazing Lamb Cumin over handmade noodles. And Tsingtao with their amazing lamb cumin Kabob sticks among other deliciousness items. This was actually constructed before any businesses came here, intended specifically to be a Chinatown, and it works really well and adds so much to the Chamblee area and all of Hotlanta. This is a true destination and surprisingly one which a lot of people haven't even discovered yet since it's not right on Buford Highway and it's a little bit off the beaten path. Of course Lilly has been here and Richard has been here though, as have many other ATL Yelp legends! Anyway I have a court appearance to make, so I'm out. I love the variety of food that is offered at the Chinatown Food Court. However, while there are a lot of options, it seems that only a few or more popular than others. We went to one of those said options, which was Chong Qing Hot Pot, at least in my opinion based on how many people I saw eat there compared to the other places. They do offer a loyalty card if you are a repeat customer. I also like the way they have soup and rice on the side for customers to help themselves after placing their orders. They typically offer egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. I like the hot and sour soup and it is not too spicy. For entrees, we ordered the String Beans, Basil Chicken, and Beef Lo Mein. I like the fact that they include pictures of the dishes so you have an idea of what it'll look like. I thought the portions were pretty generous and the price very reasonable. Overall I liked the flavors of the dishes we ordered. Will definitely come back and maybe one day I'll complete the loyalty card. read more

Upgraded. The dated furniture, flooring and signage have been renovated and upgraded. What previously was very dingy is now modern, clean and quite sleek. Its still a food court, but like 100X better than it was before. The environment is definitely improved. The vendors are the same. but I noticed their menus are more pictorial, sorta improve, point and order type. So for you that don't know what to get... we'll you can point and order... or you can spy the next table and get what they got. Either way works. Before there was any other C-town in ATL.. this is the place, This is OG. But this OG is trying to keep with the new blood. Things are improving. This review is for the food court at the Atlanta Chinatown Mall located on New Peachtree Road, just off Buford Highway, in Chamblee. Atlanta Chinatown, as a whole, already has its own listing on Yelp: https://www.yelp.com/biz/atlanta-chinatown-atlanta. This listing is for the food court specifically, which is located inside the mall itself. For those not familiar with Atlanta Chinatown, it's not a Chinatown in a traditional urban sense. Instead, it's more like a small suburban mall with restaurants, retail, and a grocery store. The food court is open daily from 10am to 9pm, Monday through Friday, and 10am to 9:30pm, Saturday and Sunday. The food is authentic (Chinese people come to eat here) and affordable. Cash only. The food court is located indoors. Its glass exterior faces a small Chinese garden with a bridge, fountain, tiny pond with koi fish, sculptures and statues, and decently maintained landscaping. The food court has been around for a long time. It underwent a renovation in 2014 and looks a lot nicer than it used to (brighter and cleaner). At the time of writing this review, the seven restaurants at the food court (and their cuisine specialties) starting with the northernmost (leftmost from entrance) and working clockwise are: * Top One Gourmet - Cantonese, Sichuan * Yanmi Yanmi - Japanese, Chinese, chicken wings, seafood * Lan Zhou Noodle - Chinese hand-pulled noodles * China Kitchen - massive Chinese menu including Shanghai soup dumplings * Chong Qing Hot Pot - hot pot, Sichuan * Cocina Linda Vista - Mexican * Hong Kong BBQ - Cantonese-style BBQ The best restaurants are Lan Zhou, China Kitchen, Chong Qing Hot Pot, and Hong Kong BBQ. Though several years old now, Lan Zhou is the newest of the Asian restaurants at the food court. There is often a worker standing at the stall who makes noodles fresh by hand before dropping them into one of many boiling pots behind the counter. China Kitchen sports a large menu with over 160 yummy offerings, Chong Qing Hot Pot serves excellent hot pot and spicy foods, and Hong Kong BBQ delivers tasty roast pork, duck, and chicken chopped on the spot. Top One Gourmet and Hong Kong BBQ, the two end stalls, have been around for as long as I can remember. The food at Top One is OK, but better food can be had at the aforementioned stalls. Yanmi Yanmi has been around for a while too. Unfortunately, I don't really recommend Yanmi Yanmi unless you want fried rice, chicken wings, or fries. They do serve Japanese food like udon and soba noodles and tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlet), but it's more akin to the instant variety. Not the best. The restaurants have their own self-serve hot tea and cold water dispensers. Some have communal rice and soup pots. Most serve their food in disposable takeout containers with wooden chopsticks or plastic silverware. If dining in, some of the vendors will use real plates and bowls. There are food court attendants who will bus tables so you don't have to worry about cleaning up if you don't really want to (it's better and nice to do so though). In my experience, the restrooms have been satisfactorily clean. Atlanta Chinatown has its own parking lot, but it could be bigger. Spots are tight and the number of available spaces can get limited during peak times. I've ultimately never had trouble finding parking during a typical day. Sadly and stereotypically, a lot of the visitors do not know how to park (*facepalm*). TL;DR - You can find a lot of authentic, delicious, and affordable Chinese food at the Atlanta Chinatown Food Court. Just remember it's cash only. read more

Honestly, not sure how I've managed to not come here in the several years I've lived in Atlanta. My cousin came to visit and he's the one who requested to eat here, and I had no idea it even existed! Shame on me. This is not your ordinary food court, where you can't decide what you really want because everything is kind of just mediocre. Here, you can't decide what you want because everything is amazing. I've been three times now, and each time, people in our group always ask why we don't come more often. So much to choose from - hand pulled noodles, amazing Chinese dishes, hot pot, dumplings, duck, and more. I need to come more often to try it all! They do have a couple COVID precautions in place. There are fewer indoor tables to eat at and vendors are wearing masks. When my fam & I came during COVID, we opted to eat at the courtyard tables outside. They'll still bring the food out to you there. I've had the hand pulled noodles, roasted duck, and various dishes from a few of the vendors. Everything was amazing. Shockingly, the green beans were my favorite dish. Who knew green beans could be so flavorful!? The best part is that when we ordered several dishes & did family style, it came out to be so cheap per person. We even had leftovers. You can't go wrong with anything you order at this food court. Food here is cheap and no frills kinda thing. I absolutely love it because I'm not looking for a fancy shmancy time most of the time. Just gimme some good old real Chinese food. I don't remember where we got the cong yo bing but it was tasty and fresh from scratch that it was well worth the fifteen minute wait. The spicy hot pot we ordered was swirly of wonderful tasty broth. We also ordered eggplant which didn't look super photogenic but I believe real good street food generally doesn't as could care less about aesthetics. If you have any feeling other than this is the most excellent Chinese in Atlanta, we can't be friends. This is how strongly I feel. Because this place is the bomb diggity. The food is absolutely stellar. Lots of Asians can be found here in addition to my mother anytime you go-- but especially at dinner-- and we all know that's the sign of a decent Asian restaurant. We normally get several different dishes from a few different places so we can try a bunch. And one has several different decent Malaysian Chinese dishes. Which I LOVE. The whole fish are great, the tofu is AMAZING, the veggies, the meat... almost everything we've had here we love and I always want to come back for more when I'm in Atlanta. Now, it's rather casual, with Styrofoam plates and cups, and plasticware. My mother and I have taken to bringing our own water, paper plates, and our own silverware. We bring a picnic basket, basically, and grocery bags to bring home the dirty silverware to wash. Anything to minimize our carbon footprint at this Valhalla of Styrofoam. read more

Though, I was a little disappointed in the duck place, I bought half a roasted duck for dinner one day and came home to a very skimpy half. I have lived in Chamblee over 30 years and I am use to 'real' authentic Asian food. One of the best places to explore and type good Asian food is in Chinatown in Chamblee. It is on New Peachtree Rd and looks lke a small shipping mall. There are 4-6 vendors and they are not open at times. The times vary. If you like hot pot dishes try 'Chong Qing Hot Pot'. They are open every day and have a wide varies of hot pot dishes and single dishes. The hot pot dish I love is Dry Fish Hot Pot. It has bean sprouts, sweet potatoes, Napa cabbage and lot of vegetables and fish;, cooked in a wonderful thick broth. The dish is served on a hot plate and it is hot! Rice comes with it but you need to asked for it. The meal is enough for two or three meals. The taste is rich and the sweet potatoes compliment the fish and other vegetables. It was amazing delicious. It was not heavy tasting. They make the dishes as ordered so you may have to wait 20 minutes. It is well worth the wait. read more

I love visiting the Chinatown Food Court! It's always a treat to get authentic Chinese cuisines. Many of the foods here are made from scratch, and some of the restaurants have similar offerings. Many of them have their menus completely in Chinese but will have English menus at the counter (or on the Chinatown Food Court website) to look through, as well. There is ample parking outdoors in the free lots surrounding the mall and there ample seating indoors and some in a courtyard next to the large, open, communal-ish dining area. All the patrons share the same area and there are folks who come by and clean up the tables for you and take the special bowls and spoons back to the right restaurant. Beyond the weekend of the Lunar New Year celebrations, I've come here a couple times in the evenings for dinner and have never seen it crowded. The wait for food isn't very long, some of the restaurants have free rice/tea/soup for patrons, and they all prefer to be paid in cash. The restrooms aren't every squeaky clean, but I've never had a problem with any big messes or running out of toilet paper. I'd recommend looking at each individual restaurant, discovering what their specialties are (fresh hand-pulled noodles in homemade soup? soup dumplings? hot pot?) and go from there. No one will look down on you for trying things from more than one place, and I love exploring the food sphere through this all-in-one-place Chinese adventure! read more

My parents refuse to walk into this food court because of the past cleanliness issues. But I mentioned the renovation and they're willing to give it another shot. This food court has become much more patron friendly. I'm no longer scared to sit in a chair before wiping it down. The restaurants looked about the same, with similar menus across the board, although some signature dishes stand out at each shop. Two old Chinese men were playing Chinese chess at a table which was pretty awesome. Made me feel like we were really in Asia. An ATM machine is in the back by the Hong Kong BBQ and the Chong Qing Hot Pot. All booths are cash only. You can't miss with any of the stalls, I'm sure but I was drawn to Chong Qing Hot Pot, Hong Kong BBQ and Lan Zhou. Give those a try! best cheap eats in one location. I've been coming here for over two decades. Back when I was growing up there weren't that many options for good authentic Chinese foods and this was the one place where you could find the stuff you get "back home" While the vendors have come and go. I think what has always been the same is a big bag for your buck. My favorite vendor the past few years has been Lan Zhou with their fresh hand made noodles. You don't find many hand made noodles in the south. The best places I have had handmade noodles in the states was Ollie's on Broadway in nyc. Lan Zhou's noodle style is more Shanghai style than say Taiwanese which is fine by me. It's still really good. Over the years I've had quite a few items on their menu and most of it I say is a 4 star. Their soy milk is a 5 star definitely. Their fried cruller is a 3.5 because I prefer mine to be crispier but that's a personal preference..... Their fish ball and beef noodle soup is outstanding. First thing to know is this food court is entirely cash only. Yep, there's an ATM, but avoid the fees and just bring some cash. Inside Chinatown food court is a list of delicious restaurants including: yanmi yanmi, Top One Gourmet Lan Zhou Cocina Linda Vista Hong Kong BBQ China Kitchen Chong Qing Hot Pot We came on a Saturday and parking was kinda tough, space and seating inside the food court are shared, and finding a table to seat more than 6 was a challenge (on the weekend anyway), but we managed. I stopped into China kitchen and Lan Zhou, but check my reviews of those because I wont bloat this review with my thoughts of them here. Across from the food court is a lovely Chinese garden, complete with wall art, a bubbling brook and a nice little bridge to walk over, and the overall feel of this portion of Atlanta Chinatown is kinda serene. ATL does not do Chinese food well. At the food court, we tried dishes from three different vendors. Only the BBQ pork over rice was acceptable. Everything else was meh- dumpling and baos skins were way too thick for comfort. Soup noodles were ok. We liked the Formosa gift shop and the grocery store. read more

Interesting place that I just happen to stumble into. It is tucked away in a random shopping center. There are about 6-8 food vendors here and the two that I have tried so far, were very good. The food and authentic and very cheap. read more
