My new favorite spot for all things açaí and dessert...Was in the mood for something sweet and used my trusted Yelp app to help make a decision. So glad I found Playa Bowls in downtown Decatur, it far from the square. I was greeted upon entry and they was very patient answering all my questions. I ordered the CoCo Craze bowl and it was amazing! A huge plus is that they are open until 10pm. Don't walk, run to this place...

So happy that Decatur finally has a Playa Bowls. Ever since I discovered the one in Chamblee I've thought Decatur would be a great location for one! If you've never been to a Playa Bowls, it's straight island vibes with light healthy refreshing snacks. They provide an array of fruit bowls. Mostly know for their açaí bowls. They have smoothies as well. Everything is super customizable as well. Highly suggest checking it out. This location is in the downtown decatur area. Great spot to grab a bowl and go hang on the square green space. It's clean and the employees have been super kind I typically order the Nutella bowl!

New location in downtown Decatur. Hours on the door.

I ordered online the PB and Jammin' açaí bowl for my son and me. It was ready in the 20 min predicted and was waiting in their fridge in a bag to go. There is a parking garage attached with free parking for 30 min or pay street parking. My son and I really enjoy the different acai bowl which are refreshing and satisfying. If you go in person and order in person on a Saturday, be prepared to wait. Save yourself some time by ordering online. There is a small convenience fee online.

This location made our bowls really well but since it's on the beltline it is busy so expect to wait a little. Overall still a great place!

My friends really liked this place so I was curious as to why. So when we got there I realized it was a smoothie bowl place. It was a bit cold yesterday, but I can always do a smoothie bowl. However I say they had an oatmeal bowl, so I opt for that instead. Well When I got my bowl it was warm which I didn't expect I thought it was gonna be like overnight oats. So I was pleasantly surprised. Bust then I was soon disappointed. I ordered the blueberry/strawberry bowl, and literally that's is what I got no pizzazz or anything not even honey on top. It was the berries and sliced almonds. Not bad right, butbwjen i went to tale my first bite? The oatmeal me just felt stiff. It was steelcut oats but it had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR! It also was kinda stiff. I then asked for a drizzle of honey to try and soften it up and add some sweetness to it, but it didn't help. Usually oatmeal should be a bit softer not soupy but a bit loose and creamier. This was very stiff. I asked the server in the future could the oatmeal be made with coconut milk or something, she said they normally just use water, which I guess is fine but they dont use enough water so that the oatmeal is a bit more loose. And it has ZERO flavor. The berries did t add much flavor at all. I just figured a place that was steadily busy, would have more to their oatmeal bowl than just oatmeal with berries on top. The should take these bowls off the menu. I said next time I go I amd gonna ask if the can mux in sime coconut milk and honey when they make it and see what they say. So it is worth going back b/c my friend enjoyed her Açai bowl, and I do wanna try one for myself b/c they have so many different smoothie bowls, but unfortunately for me opt for the oatmeal one b/c it was heartier..oh well... So yes I recommend but dont get the oatmeal unless you do what i suggested and ask for some type of milk or even just more hot water amd honey to be added..that is if you don't like stiff unflavored oatmeal.

My wife and her family are Brazilian and absolutely love açaí, and this spot is much closer to our house than where we usually go. The prices were also cheaper, so I thought it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, after buying five bowls, it became very clear why the prices are lower. Everyone agreed the açaí tasted watered down and lacking flavor. If you're used to real, rich, authentic açaí, this just doesn't hit the mark. For a place literally called Açaí Bowl, the most important thing--the açaí itself--was a letdown. We won't be coming back, but I will say that it has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Maybe the other items are good but I personally wouldn't waste my money to find out. The inside appearance and staff are the only reason why I gave three stars otherwise it would've been less.
