I noticed Açaí Bowl in McDonough while shopping in the plaza next to Publix and figured I'd give it a try. My wife and her family are Brazilian and absolutely love açaí, and this spot is much closer to our house than where we usually go. The prices were also cheaper, so I thought it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, after buying five bowls, it became very clear why the prices are lower. Everyone agreed the açaí tasted watered down and lacking flavor. If you're used to real, rich, authentic açaí, this just doesn't hit the mark. For a place literally called Açaí Bowl, the most important thing--the açaí itself--was a letdown. We won't be coming back, but I will say that it has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Maybe the other items are good but I personally wouldn't waste my money to find out. The inside appearance and staff are the only reason why I gave three stars otherwise it would've been less. read more

I'll give you the highlights! PB&J Bowl was delicious! The ratio of fruits, granola, peanut butter & Acai base was on point!!! Now that is what I'm talking about!!!! Every-bite was delicious-sweet and tart (in a perfect blend)! This place was clean and inviting! A lot of options to choose from. Smoothies. Acai bowls and diff types of healthy toasts. Im a big believer in customer service!! We came to visit this location on Feb 9th '25 and KYLA made my Acai bowl. So thank you for taking the time to prepare this deliciousness. This is the Best Place for a Healthy Option. The ingredients are so Fresh and Delicious ! So many options to choose from. I had the Bowl and my Daughter had the Mango Smoothie with Mango Pearls She loved it. The Staff is so Friendly and Professional. Super Clean, great Music and even Games to Play while you wait. The wait wasn't long but because it's so comfortable I almost wish it was longer . No where else would you want to have a long wait. read more

Visited here recently and I will be back. Black owned business, good customer service and a good product. I'm new to the area and it was a little hard for me to find it at first as the sign on the building says something else and the writing on the door does not really stand out...anyhow I was greeted right away as I entered, told the guy it was my first time amd he told me to take my time. I follow them on IG and showed him a pic of what I wanted which was the "Blue lagoon" it was so good, light and refreshing. They have changed their opening hrs to 730am so I am hoping that works good for them. I'm going back soon to try the avocado toast and another bowl or smoothie. The bowls here are sooo good and the staff is so friendly! I love coming here and just moved to the area, but already received a coupon with their rewards program. Ingredients always taste so fresh and they make the bowls within good timing and the prices are so much more reasonable than some of the açaí bowl shops I'd go to in Atlanta for the same or smaller portions. I want to start by saying I am a very accommodating restaurant patron. That is, I understand running a restaurant is hard work and you can't please everyone all the time. But my experience and my meal did not reflect a restaurant putting in the hard work. First, I wanted a tuna salad sandwich, but they were out of tuna. A Publix is literally next door, but...OK. I got a chicken salad sandwich instead. Chicken salad drenched in mayo to the point I couldn't really taste anything but mayo, bread not toasted to hold up against all that mayo, and no toppings like lettuce or tomato! My guests for lunch each ordered the avocado toast. Again, the bread was not toasted, the fire-roasted peppers were scooped from the jar without draining such that there was a pool of oil, some feta sprinkled on but no other topping like tomato or sprouts. It felt as though they slapped together our order with the least effort (and ingredients) possible in order to get our money. We were repeat customers when the owners operated this establishment as a Cake & Shake. The açaí bowls are decent, but this experience was AWFUL!!! Now more than ever, they should be demonstrating to the customers that they understand how valuable their "dining out dollars" are to them. This meal showed just how little they care about what they serve, how little pride they have in what they serve, and how much they value me as a customer. Bowls are made without consistency. Today's bowl (July 12, 2023 aprox 10:30am) was sparse! Very little granola, barely any honey. Wish my teen hadn't picked it up and brought it home w/o looking at it, but I'm not sure she would have said anything. Said the person working wasn't in a customer service-type of mood. I've had ample bowls in the past, but I will not take that chance again with Essential Bowls--they are too expensive. read more
