Our go to place for Korean bulgogi bowls. You get a very generous size portion for 15$. Everything is premade and no wait time. You can fill the bowl with lots of veggies and they offer either chicken or beef as base protein. We recommend the chicken and it's bit spicy. We came in with a large group of 7 and the man behind the corner served us quickly and without complaint, even going as far to give kind recommendations about what kind of sauce would pair well with our poke bowls. Speaking of the bowls, they tasted delicious with fresh ingredients and great sauces. We also ordered the traditional Korean beefbone cabbage soup which was also very tasty. I was In the area at the hospital and wanted something less greasy so I amazed to come across this place! The service was absolutely great. Since I only got spring mix as my base, the associate helped me choose a lot of toppings like spinach, Masago,seaweed salad. The poke bowl was really delicious and the salmon and tuna was so fresh. I appreciated the portions and the fact that most of the toppings were not limited to just one or two per category. Looks like takeout and pick up only as of August 27 as when you walk in there's a table horizontally blocking the restaurant. Ordering online is easy from the website though. Just ordered my first meal from here with the Korean Bulgogi and it tastes great seems to be prepared properly and was ready within 5 min of ordering. To go bowl comes in a biodegradable container and is a good amount of food. I think next time I will do you double meat because you do get a good amount of rice and for a few bucks more double meat would make this two meals for sure. You can pick the base (various rice or greens), the protein, the toppings and the sauce. I got the brown rice, beef, variety of toppings and the Korean hot sauce. The boss here is a very friendly and professional women. She makes sure you get a good meal. One of my bullgogi meats had a weird mark on it but I didn't noticed it. She did and pointed it out that it's only a burnt mark and not to worry. That is a model employee who cares about their customers. Can't get that type of parental feel in a restaurant setting. The prices here are fair at around 8-9$ a bowl. I always recommend splitting my protein into two different kinds since you have 2 scoops of protein on your bowl. Veggie and other toppings are unlimited and you have lots of rice to choose from (fried rice, brown rice, white rice, sushi rice, and etc). I love coming here and will be back. Good atmosphere, great staff, good and clean food. All positive vibes around. A must try. Only downside is that the bowls don't feel as filling. In the end, I felt satisfied but not stuffed. This is a fast casual spot in the same shopping center as Mediterranean Grill, MattressFirm, and Sarah Donuts and where Rainbow Natural Foods used to be. I went with the bullgogi bowl for $7.99 (a poke bowl is another option), and quite honestly, I was surprised at the heft of the bowl when I was done requesting my free additions. Gotta love bang for your buck! I selected the beef bulgogi and opted to get many veggies and other ingredients. For sauces, I went with ponzu and tried a dash of the spicier BullGogi sauce which added a reasonable kick.  The woman preparing my order was really patient and offered suggestions and answers when I asked for recommendations and had questions. She actually was the one who said I should try a little spicy sauce. BullGogi offers a rewards card for its frequent visitors which is great. Buy 10, get one free. This is the first poke place that I have went to. I have to say that I really enjoyed what I got! You first pick the base of your bowl. Do you want white rice, spinach, etc. I got the white rice. Then you pick what toppings you want. There are an array of toppings. There is corn, lettuce, picked radish, etc. I chose corn, radish, lettuce, and seaweed. Next, you are to choose what protein you want. Tofu, tuna, salmon, spicy salmon (that looked too minced for me, so I decided on the tuna amd regular salmon.) Then lastly, you choose your sauce. I chose yum yum with a side of spicy mayo. Twas delicious! I especially loved the corn. Oh! I didn't see any cream cheese in the toppings area, so when I got home, I added cream cheese to my bowl and went to town. The flavors were absolutely fresh! I do not like completely raw fish, but im glad that I chose this place to enjoy it. What an awesome meal! Pretty much the same as its predecessor, Bistro 7, except it no longer serves gyros, which makes me sad. The Asian fusion side is still excellent - the best mall Asian food I've had anywhere within $15 of the price point. The vegetables are even properly made and not soggy, as is too often the case. If you want reasonably priced, well made Asian food in downtown Atlanta, this is my go-to place. Still upset about the lack of gyros, though. read more

I came down to ATL during Mother's Day weekend and looked up this spot before arriving and made it a goal to come out and try it. I was not disappointed. Everything was so fresh and the colors of my creation were something out of a fairy tale. I ordered a salmon/tuna poke bowl with brown rice and some random fix-ins. I actually got some extra salmon for a few extra bucks. So worth it for the freshness and health benefits that come along with it. I asked the server what he recommended as the sauces and there was this citrus based one and spicy mayo that he highly recommended so I went with his choices as I'm still a novice in this cuisine. Could not have hoped for better. I was very full after my bowl. The meal is dense yet relatively low calorie save for the sauces I imagine, but the sauces should not be overlooked. They are just as important and enhance everything. The bowl is moderately dressed giving just the right amount of touch without overpowering any of the flavors. Poke fever has finally hit Atlanta and has done so with a vengeance. While I had heard of Bull-Gogi on Peachtree Corners, I was told the location in Decatur was slightly different because they sold poke bowls, too. After speaking to one of the owners, he mentioned that he and his brother sold the Peachtree Corners location and moved to Decatur. If only this place had existed during my Emory years! It definitely would have been more poke bowls and less Cafe Saigon. Typical Chipotle style set up - you choose the type of bowl - raw fish or cooked meats, the toppings and sauces, and rice versus salad. I ordered the salmon poke bowl, with some of the more appealing toppings on top of the bowl. I did notice that the avocado didn't look very fresh so I skipped on that add-on. The rice makes it more filling, but if you're looking for something low-carb, the salad is the way to go. My poke bowl was pretty tasty. It wasn't insta-worthy, though, but I didn't mind. Prices are reasonable, too. As we were eating, the owner came and introduced himself and offered us complimentary Korean beverages. If I'm ever in the area again, which I find myself here more often than not, and looking for something filling and affordable, I know Bull-Gogi to be a viable option! read more

Impression: Out if all the Asian fusion and poke bowl places that are springing up all over Atlanta, I really really like this place a lot probably bc 1. Simple menu but versatile build your own bowl out of many options 2. Korean and Japanese bowl options instead of just poke options so you can always try different combinations 3. Fast and fresh ingredients and don't have to wait for your order or in line 4. And great taste- love that they have many sauce options and flavors that aren't too powerful 5. Loved the more intimate and humble feel of the staff and establishment! Bull Gogi opened on January 3 (my Bday! Hey!) and it has been a popping joint right next to suno and little caesars on North Decatur and clairmont avenue! It's 7.99$ for a bulgogi bowl and 9.99$ for a poke bowl- both are very very reasonable prices given the other costs of food around this Emory area. Super affordable and ingredients are fresh and good. What we got: 1. Bulgogi and spicy chicken bowl. We got the white rice, though you can choose brown or fried rice which I think is a super unique choice compared to other poke places. We added seaweed salad, spicy radish and then we topped with spring mix, masago, onion, scallions, and wasabi flakes. We asked for bulgogi sauce though for those with hypertension, ask for sauce on side bc it can make your dish super salty if you don't test out saltiness of the bulgogi first. 2. Salmon and spicy tuna poke bowl. I like that their tuna was mashed rather than large chunks. It makes it adhere nicely to rice when you stir it up. The sushi rice had the sweet vinegary taste that makes sushi rice, sushi rice. I asked for spring mix, scallions, corn, seaweed salad, daikon radish, masago, and wasabi flakes. I like the wasabi aioli sauce on it- makes sense that sushi goes with wasabi sauce. I think the flavors come together nicely in this combination. The service is fast. Compared to nearby poke places, you don't have to sit and wait for your order and listen all the time- you make it live on the spot and you can personalize it. Also, the menu is tiny but that's bc you get to make your own combination. That's what I really like. Location is good and parking is convenient since it's in a strip mall complex. Best part is, if you get sick of a bulgogi bowl you can always switch to poke bowl. You can always try out new combinations and their awesome sauce variety. read more

Was looking for a quick lunch spot and found this place. The restaurant sits in a plaza with limited parking (just seems like a busy spot). The actually restaurant is nice inside and the food was good and reasonably priced. I got a bulgogi beef bowl with sushi rice and a bunch of veggie toppings. I wish the beef had more of a sear to it and a little more sauce to the meat but everything else met my expectations. The portion was great too. The significant other has been eyeing this place since it opened some weeks ago. The ordering concept was simple: Make your own bowl from a selection of meats, veggies, and sauces. The steps are easy: 1) Choose a base. 2) Choose a protein. 3) Choose toppings. 4) Choose something for on the top. 5) And finally choose the sauce. I had the beef bulgogi with spicy Korean chicken atop a bed of fried rice. For the side items, I choose the spring mix salad, seaweed salad, green onions, and spicy radish. The spicy Korean sauce topped my bowl. My bowl had a mixture of spicy and sweet; it was okay. Maybe sushi rice and not so much of the spicy items would have been a better combo. BullGogi is awesome! I got the spicy chicken bowl and my partner ordered the beef, and both were delicious. I love that there are so many options for vegetables and other toppings, including sauces. The only thing that would have made this better would be an egg. However, I had leftovers (I only finished about half the bowl at the restaurant) and plan in the future to reheat them and add an egg. The fountain drinks were flavorful but very sweet. I did not downgrade my rating based on this because I'm new to the South and posit that many locals prefer their drinks sweeter. Nonetheless, they had lemonade and tea with free refills. I will definitely be back, and not just because I live nearby. Oh, on the menu it specifically says you get 2 scoops with an order of the spicy chicken, but my partner also got 2 scoops of the beef with her order. It may seem overwhelming at first if you're new to it. I've been to different Poké spots around Atlanta, but this one is closer to my house, so that's a plus for me! From all the options they have different prices. You choose a base, and select the meats. If you want 2 scoops of either tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, or krab it's $9.99. Or if you want beef bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, or spicy Korean chicken it's $7.99. You then choose all the toppings and sauces. I recommend getting the sushi rice with spicy tuna and salmon. I topped it with green onions, red onions, spicy radish, corn, lettuce, green tea crunch with a spicy mayo sauce. So bomb. Then again it was my first meal of the day lol. I'll be back! Just like Chipotle and Moe's, if it doesn't taste good, it's your fault for putting odd things like avocado and not enough chill paste. If you just let the lady to decide what goes into the bowl, you will get something similar to what you get in a typical Korean dinner table. The nice thing with the poke bowl is that it's really quick and in this case also delicious. This is not a gourmet good experience but nevertheless, the vegetable and sauce choices (bull golgi sauce is recommended) are good and considering the price you get a lot for what you paid for. We tried two poke bowls - One with fried rice and the other with sushi rice, one with the spicy crispy chicken/Korean chicken mixed, and the other with beef bulgogi. Both were tasty and I recommend adding the crispy tempura green tea flakes (doesn't actually taste like green tea it just adds a nice texture). We also enjoyed the peach iced tea quite a bit. There's not a ton of space here so if this place blows up more be prepared to take out. read more

If it tastes bad then you probably made a bad bowl -That's how I feel about these places. I like Chipotle so it's nice to have another option that is close to me. The lady really wanted me to add tea crunch flakes on top. It was tasty enough. My fiance's bulgogi was not as tasty as my salmon. I think her fried rice, bulgogi, and kimchi made it a little bit too salty. The wasabi aoli sauce on my fish bowl was not that strong but I still loved it. Would I come here again? Yes because it's across the street from me but I would just come for their fish and not so much meats. Apparently you can get up to 2 portion toppings here, but I just wanted the beef. Lol. I got it with steamed rice, spicy radish, seaweed salad, and edamame. Skip the seaweed salad - it was a little too slimy for me and had a weird texture. For $8, it satisfied my Korean food craving, but I'm probably wouldn't get the same combination again. Bull Gogi is an Asian Chipotle concept that serves up customizable rice bowls with meat, fish, vegetables, and tasty sauces. I'm a huge fan of fish and have always chosen fish over the meat bowl option, so read elsewhere if you want an opinion on the meat options. Fish choices include tuna, salmon, and spicy tuna. Fewer choices than at other poke restaurants, but excellent ingredient quality. The restaurant is clean, has a simple but pleasant looking interior, and bright food and menu pictures. Location/Parking: Bull Gogi is located in one of the shopping plazas at the corner of Clairmont Road and Decatur Road. It's on the corner across the street from Publix - heading east on Decatur Road from Emory it's past the traffic light on the left. The parking lot is awkward - there are plenty of spaces, but to turn into the next aisle you need to first turn onto either Clairmont or Decatur. At busy hours, I recommend starting at either the second or third row of parking. Ordering Experience: The servers are pleasant and knowledgable about the food items. They'll walk through each item step by step, but I liked how I was not asked if I want avocado, which costs extra. The serving station is clean and all of the ingredients have been fresh the 3+ times I've been here. What I Tried: Salmon and Tuna Poke Bowl ($9.99) - I order the same thing over and over because I really liked what I got the first time. The regular bowl will come with 2 scoops of protein - 3rd scoop comes at a small surcharge. As mentioned, all of the vegetables are fresh and crunchy if they're supposed to be. I usually load up on almost everything that they have, which includes edamame, corn, cucumbers, seaweed salad, spring mix, and radish. Fish quality is very good. I've tried different sauces and most of them are good. Most recently, I tried the Korean spicy sauce. I thought it was a little salty, but it did add nice flavor to the bowl.
