I love the high ceilings and cool vibe of this store, it's my favorite Playa Bowls location in the area. Parking can get a little dicey at prime times and the spots are small. This location has a good number of tables and lots of natural light. Workers here are always kind and helpful. I love the variety of seasonal bowls and old classics. We ordered two of the pacific green bowls and they arrived on time- neatly packaged, cold and just as beautiful as they would have been in the store. Both of our bowls were blended with kale and topped with chia seeds, strawberries, honey and bananas. Their menu features a variety of bowls, smoothies and juices. My absolute favorite bowl is the Pura Vida bowl. It consists of Playa Açaí topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries, and honey. I basically get it every time I go there. The staff is always great and very helpful. Any questions you may have, they will have the answer. The store is so cute and gives you a tropical vibe even though it's cold outside lol. Crazy traffic and lane closures caused me to take a really circuitous route home and I decided to check out Playa Bowls. Its clean, cool, and spacious. There's a lot happening inside and the line wasn't supre clear to follow. The parking lot, on the other hand, is a nightmare. I know they have no control over that, but be prepared. Cars were lined up to get spots as people left. How do I describe the bowls: in a word, overwhelming. The large chalk-board type menu up on the wall is clear and easy to read, but there are so so so many options to pick between. They had very few hardcopy menus inside (COVID, I get it, but also definitely prefer being able to hold and look at a menu). Again--nothing the local restaurant can do, but it might be helpful if they were able to build a search tool on their website--similar to smoothie king--where you can select things that you want in the bowl, or things that you don't want, and it will filter the bowls so you only see the ones that you're interested in. Oh, and the actual food? I was pretty good. I enjoyed the green power bowl. The almond butter was very stiff/thick and didn't mix well into the other flavors, but when I got a bite with it, it was delicious. Prices are steep, but if one bowl is a meal it's a reasonable treat every once in a while. read more

The smoothie bowls are good! I've only had the 8th Ave açaí bowl, but each time I get it the fruit is fresh and delicious. I think they could fill the bowls up a little more for the price paid, but overall it's pretty good. The customer service at this location however needs a lot of work. I've been here a few times and each time the person taking the order has not been friendly. Barely a greeting, just "what would you like" and not in a friendly tone. Personally, I'm not a big fan of their granola blend because of the puffed rice, but they do sell their granola in bags if you love it. Since we are unable to eat indoors for now, there's a large grassy area next to the building with three picnic tables and a canopy tent. I wish playa bowls would sponsor me because I've probably spent like $200 there in the past year alone. It's an addiction at this point. I usually get the Nutella Acai bowl which is delicious. It's always filled to the top with plenty of granola and fruit. I've also tried some of the coconut base bowls which I really liked. The music can sometimes be a little loud but whoever is on aux has fire music taste so I can't really complain. One other small thing is that sometimes the bowls take a really long time to be ready but other times it's 3-5 mins or less. read more

Went to Playa Bowls for the first time here. I've heard so many things about it and wanted to try for myself! Very hippy spot on the inside and there is some seating inside and outside. Parking can be kind of tight due to the restaurant next door but there is parking around back. I ended up getting the Pura Vida Bowl and was in love! This bowl was delicious, with the granola and acai base I was impressed. I will definitely be returning here to try another bowls, just a tad pricey (like everything in this economy). As much as I love playa bowl, the customer service is terrible specially with this one black girl with braids. I have had never had issues with coming and get things correctly. 1. She was mean from the start because we one of us didnt say hi back, and when I specifically said no chocolate because I am ALLERGIC it was still added. When she was ringing us up she was talking to us in an attitude. 2. I went back to order another one because I didn't mind buying another one rather than complaining & another girl rang me up which was nice and was able to accept my request. 3. When I was given my 3rd bowl I didn't say anything because why would I thank you if ur being rude lol. we examined it and she screamed you're welcome as we were leaving and we just looked and left. Then said something else as we were leaving and then they were all saying stuff. As we were leaving and were in the car she came out and was like are you okay? And kept yelling it until I replied and I said no ****. Do you know not what customer service is? Why were you even hired? you ******** *****. I am very big on customer service but if you don't even care for your the customers why should I care about you? and then she gasped and was like what oh my gosh in a high pitch like she did nothing wrong. This rating has nothing to do with the food. It's fine and tasty. This rating has EVERYTHING to do with the customer service, or lack there of. I wanted to write this review ages ago, but I always gave this place the benefit of the doubt, however after multiple visits to this particular establishment, the time has come to put the customer service of this place on blast and that's by saying, there is none. Absolutely zero, zilch, nada. Perhaps this is a generational thing but the "kids" (and I'm using that because that's what they seem to act like), behind the counter feel to have the idgaf attitude about everything they do. They're rude, uncourteous, inhospitable, unwelcoming, and are relatively unhappy to do the bare minimum. Perhaps they'd rather be scrolling TikTok or IG, idk. In any case, I've had several altercations at this location that has always ended up going sideways for one reason or another. The most recent interaction pitted 6 customers, against 3 employees who weren't in any particular hurry to fill orders towards the close of business. One by one customers were handed their incorrect orders, and caught attitudes when corrected. One gentlemen, who was in the establishment the longest, was the last person to receive his order. We were second to last and couldn't understand why he waited so long to get his one juice. He was dumbfounded as well. Idk if the team here needs some personality training, customer service training, new leadership, simple morale boost or new help all around but these kids simply cannot be bothered and I will not be returning to this location until it's sorted. It shouldn't be this way but I would much rather drive to the Tuckerman Lane location for peace of mind. read more
