The atmosphere is cool with the music setting up vibe for a pleasant dining experience! The servers are friendly too with a warm smile but didn't seem to offer a particular opinion about the recommendations! I went for a goldie mango bowl which had mango at the bottom, topped with granola, bananas, strawberry and Nutella! The mango paste did seem a bit sweet as in terms of extra added sugar which shouldn't be there as they market themselves as a healthy restaurant. The ingredients were definitely fresh and the cost though seemed to be a bit on the higher side given the location! Sat down with my boyfriend and little sister to try and enjoy your playa bowls. All we heard was the staff talking loudly amongst each other. Speaking bad about other co workers who weren't even present. Not an enjoyable experience at all. Music was inappropriate too. read more

I always order from here from uber eats and they always forget to pack half of my order. I don't blame uber since the bags are always stapled. So management: do a better job with how deliveries are handled and please be generous with the nutella. Love the playa bowls but this needs to improve. Visited this store fir the first time last week, I arrived a little after they opened, there was no line, and the service was quick. I ordered the stupid Cupid and it was delicious, the bowls are definitely filling and you can share with someone else. The ingredients were all fresh and the store is very clean. A new addition to Union city. Went in here tonight to try the much talked about acai bowl. Ordered nutella acai bowl- 11$ and gogi pittaya bowl- 11$. Serving size was decent. Taste was good. It was pretty crowded for 9:30 pm. They have 2 small tables outside for seating. My only complaint is there are very unorganised. We had to wait for 10 mins to place the order as there was no one behind the ordering counter. Also the people who ordered after us recieved their order before us. Horrible customer service & mediocre product. I stopped in for a smoothie and got back a glass of creamed ice in a cup. I asked for a replacement asking this time to use less ice and was told there was no ice used and that the banana is the only frozen item. So I asked if it was possible for her to make the same smoothie without using the banana. She was reluctant but did with a hesitant attitude. In the end, the second smoothie was even worse than the first. So I ended up asking for a refund and was told she was not able to do so. This place has obvious no desire to offer a good product nor do they care to satisfy a paying customer. read more

So I arrive to Playa Bowls at 9:50 and the workers inform me that they are already closed. I mean I get it, they have to clean up for the night but the website says 10pm is when they closed. I go at around this same time all the time and never had an issue. The door wasn't locked so I walked in expected to be taken care of. I recommend the hours online to be changed for the future because someone like me who drove quite a distance to get it was a little aggravated to find out they had closed before the time online initially states. read more

Workers aren't friendly especially the cashier. She just gives a dry "hi". Portions seem smaller than other locations. But it tastes good.

So glad playa opened in union city!! Love it! Great atmosphere and always a quick line! Always my go to!!
