Looks like any deli on the inside: paninis and hot/cold sandwiches by the front, drinks on the side and in the back, and snacks all around the shelves. Polite and fast service from the staff. They would greet you when you first enter the deli. They accept both cash and card. Any breakfast item would be an extra dollar if it's past 11am. The hot smoked turkey deli sandwich (American cheese + tomatoes + lettuce w/o mayo) that I'd gotten was smaller in size compared to other delis in the area. Ordered an acai bowl for pickup and walked in early to pick it up. The guy in charge of making it was struggling. He was on the phone unsure of what to put in or how to make it. That being said, it tasted okay for a pre-frozen acai packet. The fruit they put on top was good at least. I second someone else's comment about the granola being a little stale. read more

Skip the lines and trendy places nearby. This place is fast, friendly, and prices are great. Got breakfast, coffee, and a snack for later in one stop. All so delicious. This coffee is bomb. The bagel was perfect. Will come back next trip! read more

I ordered everything bagel with scallion cream cheese to go. I went to the register. He asked me what I had and I told him I had a bagel,and cream cheese When he got the bagel and put in the bag and he told me I owed him a dollar more because it was scallion cream cheese I mean, give me a break. Very rude customer service. They gave me the wrong sandwich. When I asked them to remake it, they yelled at me and told me I would have to pay again (even though it was their fault the sandwich was wrong). Then when I opened the second sandwich, I saw he intentionally put the wrong cheese. Very rude and overpriced, I will not go here again and don't recommend to anyone. The girl at the counter is relatively unpleasant but it's a take-out deli thus the crappy service tends to deter me less than it would at an actual restaurant. The food is decent, all the cooks in there seriously hustle. This review is due because 3 of the last 4 times I asked for "whole wheat everything bagel BEC" I got a whole wheat plain. After the second time I was clearly articulating to ensure it didn't get miscommunicated, opened it before going back to my office and mentioned it to a cook. Came here last night with Ingrid S. after an event. We were both hungry, but not starving so we hopped in here and split a breakfast sandwich consisting of sausage, egg and cheese. It was $4.25 - not bad and not great. They didn't toast my roll as I requested, but there was a little bit of butter and a solid egg to sausage and cheese ratio. Upon paying I asked for 2 packets of hot sauce and they obliged. It ended up being spicier than I can normally handle, but it went really well with my eggs and cheese - can't complain here because it was only very spicy because of my low tolerance of spicy foods/sauces, My half of my sandwich was delicious overall. I've had better, but I've also had worse...much worse. If you're stuck in a pinch and need to get on that "breakfast sandwich train", I would heartily recommend Strawberry Deli. read more

THERE WAS A CAT ON TOP OF THE ATM MACHINE. Can you top that? NYC keeps surprising me everytime. This place is the closest option to "normal" around the area. I was staying at The Standard Highline and needed a place to grab snacks. Came in, walked around and all of the sudden I see the cat. It was more cute than anything else but it made me question the sanitation of this place. Prices are okay for a deli. Paid $2.50 for a Snapple and $7.49 for a juice and an Advil. I used to go here all the time until I realized they don't check their shelved products and switch them..... because of this I got food poisoning a couple of months ago and had to leave work to go home.... I can't say it's everyone's fault. The cooks are awesome, they prepare my food very well and I've definitely tipped showing my gratitude but getting food poisoning was a deal breaker. Lesson I learned is to make it my job now to check what I buy because it's apparently not the deli's job to check their products they're selling. read more

WOW!!! The best sandwich I've ever had hands down. I'm not from here came from Cali for a little vacation was staying at a near by hotel and decided to give this deli a shot and i was impressed. I got the bbq chicken sandwich on a hero with lettuce onion tomatoes Jalapeños American cheese and chipotle mayo. Everything was fresh and hot and reasonable on the price. Strawberry Deli appeared right in front of me just as a smoothie craving took over. I chose a Strawberry Smoothie which had strawberries, banana, mango, and papaya. For $6.50 I walked away with a fairly large smoothie that fit my mood perfectly. Fine by me. read more

This deli is surprisingly crappy considering the abundance of great items on their menu and shelves. Perhaps it's because of how pricy food items are: $7.50 for a turkey and cheese wrap (nothing else on it). Really?! Also, some of the guys prepping food have a serious attitude problem. After I changed my order because they didn't have all the ingredients to properly prepare a lox bagel, one of the guys gave me the hardest time, visibly displaying his displeasure with my change, throwing around the spatula while nodding his head in disapproval. The owners REALLY made up for my bad experience here. One of the managers contacted me after reading my post, and he was very apologetic about the whole thing. I told him what happened in detail and he offered me a $20 credit. The following morning I went into the store to redeem the credit, and the workers acted like they had no idea what I was talking about -- and they were slightly rude. I guess some things never change. Spoke with the manager again and he apologized -- again. He gave me the owner's number so I can order whatever I want and have it delivered to my office for free. All I ordered was 2 sandwiches and a soda. They sent me two bags FULL of food, snacks, fruit, chips, etc. I'm sure it was worth way more than $20. Jimmy, the manager and Mr. Hadi (owner) are great businessmen and they clearly understand the importance of making customers happy. I wish their staff had the same positive attitude. This place makes decent wraps etc for an affordable manhattan deli situation but the guy at the desk, pictured, carelessly and unapologetically overcharged me a couple bucks. Idk if he didn't think I would notice or if it were a careless oversight but just make sure he rings you up properly. Very unpleasant to have to be on top of that kind of thing. read more

I come here about 2-3 times a week for my usual breakfast sandwich and iced coffee on my busiest mornings... I have to say, I never had an issue here. Every time I walk in, the workers are trying their best & doing something around the store whether the place is packed with customers or not. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I went here just to pick up some snack and I got 2 chocolate bars and one bag of bbq chips. My total was 13.50. The receipt didn't even show the prices of each item. I go to sit down and eat the chips and the bag is open on both sides. I was very upset and didn't want to eat the chips so I went to ask to return them. The guy looked at me and gave me back $2! The chips definitely cost more than that and I asked why I only was getting $2 in cash back when I paid with card and the guy didn't say anything but started speaking to the other cashier in Spanish. Roach warning. Don't order from here. Just don't do it. I can't even make this up. I had gone in a couple times, had decent sandwiches. There is a big bin they keep their chips in that come with the sandwiches. I ordered a sandwich, watched them scoop the chips out and put it in my plastic container. I got to work, I opened the container, and a small roach crawled out of my chips. I immediately through away the sandwich and called and all they said was "O.... sorry?" These guys run a sketchy operation. Every bag and napkin is from a different restaurant, maybe to save money but it's weird. There may be other things going on, but it's only speculation so I will not comment further but the police is aware and has Strawberry Deli on their radar. read more
