Today was my first visit with Dr. E and his amazing staff. You first walk in to be greeted with huge smiles and good vibes from the receptionist. I wish I knew her name! She was amazing! They send you all of your forms in advance so it's an easy process when you get there. I loved that! Met with Kathy the Dental Assistant. Kathy was professional, truly to her time to take images and ask all the questions needed. After that, met with Dr E and went over our plan for my dental success! Clean, welcoming, efficient dental office. The dentist is pretty straightforward and explains things in a chill common sense way, he shows you issues on the X-rays and the work that needs to be done. The staff that perform the cleanings perform cleanings very well, they feel like a deep massage just for the teeth/gums. The office is clean & inviting. They allow you to watch tv while you're getting work done as the tvs are positioned right above the operating seat. The views are also nice from the exam rooms. I tried out this dental office on the heels of disappointing dental experiences - dental office with limited features where i had to travel to secondary sites for certain services; the secondary dental office nice staff but customer service was not responsive in a timely way. So I was on the DONE side when I reached out to PDD. My first interaction in the phone with Ari was a good start. She was warm and personable and I felt the office was willing to work with me since most of the interventions I was seeking were expensive and out of pocket. So with that known, to borrow a line fr another reviewer, I wanted someone who looked like me , had a fresh take on dentistry and work with my vision and care about my objective. I believe I found it. NOBODY loves going to the dentist and the day I can skip injections into my mouth, will be the greatest day to me. I appreciated the effort to make me comfortable. Last night, I had a late-night craving and found myself sitting on the couch snacking on candy. At my big age, I should have known something was off when the candy that was supposed to be chewy was instead hard. As I continued to chew on the candy, the unthinkable happened: I found myself nursing a cracked tooth. I had not seen a dentist in years, as my last one had retired. I was nervous because I had a cracked tooth and did not have a regular dentist to call. This morning, I woke up and found myself on Yelp looking for a dentist who fit the criteria that I had set for myself. I wanted someone who used the latest technology, took my dental insurance, and hoped to find someone who looked like me. I came across Playa District Dental (Dr. E), which popped up after performing a search. I reviewed the recommendations and called his office to see if they could squeeze me in. I understood it was last minute, so I wasn't heartbroken when told me they could see tomorrow vs. today. I decided to peep at the dental office's website and was happy to see that a) they had one and b) it provided a menu of services that the office provided. After making the appointment, I hung up and continued my day. A few minutes later, I received a call from Ari, who advised that the doctor could see me today and was checking to see if I was available. I jumped up and headed toward Howard Hughes LA (HHLA) to see if the doctor could work his magic on my tooth. The building is freeway accessible (Howard Hughes exit) and across from Pepperdine University (West LA Campus) and Howard Hughes Promenade. I was impressed with the state-of-the-art and inviting ultramodern office space when I walked in. One of the first things I noticed was the music wafting throughout the space. This isn't your Grandmother's dental office; instead, this is your fly Aunt or Uncle's dental office that they referred you to! The kind where folks meet you and at some point during the conversation, ask, "Who's your dentist?" I joked that I only had $2 for services, but all joking aside, I was impressed with Ari, Sid, Courtney, and Diamond. The ladies gave first-class service during my entire visit. They made sure I was comfortable before, during, and after my services -- I found myself watching Netflix, which helped to ease my nerves. I went to Playa District Dental for a quick visit after I thought I cracked a tooth. Turned out it wasn't cracked (thankfully). After X-Rays and a quick exam, I was recommended to have a deep cleaning which I haven't had done in a while. The tech that performed my deep cleaning was AMAZING. I was able to tolerate the procedure with only the numbing gel which for me was confirmation of how gentle and skilled they are here. I have a HUGE phobia of the dentist. It was such a pleasant visit, they gained a new return customer. I've scheduled my next appointment. The vibe in the office is friendly, upbeat, modern and the staff are very warm from the re options to the ladies in the back office. I started coming here after being referred by a couple of friends. It's in a very nice medical building close to the Cinemark 18 theater. The staff is diverse, and they're all very friendly. The hygienist that does my cleaning is very sharp and up to date on the best ways to keep teeth and gums healthy. Dr. E is a super cool dude. Very intelligent and confident in his abilities. I sadly needed a couple of fillings during my last appointment, but it was completely painless! Gotta give it up to him for that. My first appointment with Dr. E, I was greeted with great care and with undivided attention. The entire staff is a breath of fresh of air. I went in for a regular check up and cleaning. The dental hygienist made the experience as pleasant as possible and provided quality care from start to finish, especially when she had to do a deeper and extensive cleaning in my back molars. The dental hygienist and dental assistant take their time do it right the first time. They also inform you of the details of the procedure beforehand so there are no surprises. After a thorough cleaning, Dr. E came to check on my teeth. Due to the extensive years of grinding, which have worn down my teeth, he offered some suggestions that would help, and wasn't aggressively pushing for me to choose an option, as some other dental offices I've visited. That in itself made the visit that much better. Being in the tech industry myself, I was very impressed with the modern and minimalist design of this dental office, as well as it being equipped with the latest technology. So to be completely transparent, I booked with Dr. Ligans because I met him briefly during undergrad and since I was looking for a new dentist/cosmetic work, I wanted to give my business to someone I quote, unquote KNOW. I made an appt online, the process is very very easy, I completed all the new patient forms on my phone in maybe 4 minutes total. They are good about following up, reminding you of appts, even letting you know that there's been an opening and can move your appt to an earlier date! Ok - day of appt. First of all, PARK ACROSS THE STREET! The office is gorgeous, very hi-tech, marble, clean lines, floor to ceiling windows, THE BEST MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD IN A DENTIST OFFICE, and soooo much more that a lot of reviews have already mentioned. So....I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to the dentist. (Sorry Dr. E) but I am, the sounds, keeping my mouth open, not my cup of tea. Lucky for me, every staff member that looked inside my mouth was gentle and very kind/friendly and did I mention, gentle? I ended up deciding on Invisalign after Dr. E gave me some knowledge about crowns (which I thought I wanted). And Sydney (sp?) did a cleaning for me. Let me tell you, I haven't had a cleaning in like two years ok? Not because of COVID, because I don't like going to the dentist! LOL. Anyway, she had her work cut out for her...but still she was patient and as gentle as possible while still being very thorough. The personal flat screens were a nice distraction. Dr.Erik and his staff literally made my visit today PAINLESS. I had a couple of procedures done and they were gentle yet efficient. I've never had a deep cleaning that was pain free. I literally told the hygienist (I forgot her name) that I wanted to hug her when she was done. I felt nothing! Dr. E is very gentle but thorough and I am so happy I found his practice.
