The place is relaxing, a bit eclectic in the classiest way, and just comfortable. Seats about 24 inside with a patio for... 25? in the back. The brick patio was covered only by a pergola, so not weather proof. Ham, cheese & egg croissant was lovely! I felt like it could have used a tomato jam or something - something to offer some acidity to the mix. The Covered Wagon (a breakfast burrito, smothered in gravy) was very good! We both agreed it needed spice or more seasoning. My husband added lots of pepper and some Tabasco sauce (that's the only sauce they had available, plus salt and pepper). Wonderful way to start your day! (They also serve lunch.) Wed-Sat 7am-3pm Sun 8am-2pm May 2026

Ours was Ashley and she was attentive and informative. The meat lovers omelet I had was just like me at the end of my meal, stuffed. Most omelets that I have had, which is a lot, that say they have cheese in them, the cheese is hard to find. But not here, the cheese ( your choice of cheese, was front and center. My hash browns were crispy nor soft and soggy. My wife ordered her eggs like she enjoys them and they were not exactly right so Ashley took them back and the next set were, to quote my wife, the BEST, she has ever had. The sausage she got is made right there and was outstanding. We learned from Ashley that the owners were in the kitchen fixing the food and source the burgers and steaks from their own cattle. They also bake the pies and cakes on site. We now have a place to bring visitors to our home in Saint James, such a real great find. The bathroom was neat and clean and parking is plenty and an easy walk for older patrons. Please stop in and let them know that the 'spoon player' sent you. Plus they do offer a military discount Oh and great music for dining ambience

The most egregious offense: they advertise on their menu a 4oz cortado (which is the correct size), and my wife ordered one for here, NOT to go. They served her a 12oz latte in a tall to go cup (they had mugs and glasses everywhere). She thought maybe they had messed up, so she asked about it. The response: "It's too hard for us to pour such a small amount of milk." No apology, no refund offered, no remake possible. Bottom line: don't advertise a drink you don't know how to make. Better yet, teach your baristas how to make basic coffee drinks properly, since you are, you know, a coffee place (or a "coffee café, as the sign says, which is a bit redundant, I guess). My advice: go to any good third wave coffee place in CoMo (Acola is the best, in our opinion), and they will make you a proper, 4oz (as advertised) cortado. The food was fine, nothing special. But the prices? It would seem reasonable to me if the food were half the price. This isn't inflation, this is airport pricing, with maybe a smidge better quality. This place could and should be better, but they just don't seem to care to be. Until they do, don't bother coming here unless paying $23 for bad, improperly made coffee and a sandwich I could make at home sounds like a good idea to you.

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!
