I booked a party here for my daughter's 3rd birthday and it was a hit! My family and close friends kept mentioning that their kids, and even the adults, enjoyed this indoor playground and the party room. Prior to the day of the party, I contacted PlayPie a month in advance to go over the party packages and add ons. Ciara was quite helpful answering all my questions and provided suggestions when asked. I booked the party room over the phone and asked Ciara to send me pictures of past theme parties to get an idea of what I wanted my daughter's party room decorations to look like. I called just before the business closed, so it makes sense they emailed me the next day. However, it would have been nice if I was told when to expect the email with the pictures. The themes in the pictures would be included in the party package deal at no extra charge. Since I don't really like to celebrate birthdays, and haven't really thrown my kid a formal birthday party, I decided to go a little all out this year. After receiving the email with attachments from the PlayPie team, I decided to opt for a custom theme, which is an additional add-on. I emailed the team with specific colors and instructions: princess & tiara with gold, pink and white/cream colors. I also provided pictures as examples of the look I'm going for. I even mentioned that I want the party room to have a princess feel to it and do not want Disney princess characters. My kid is not really into the characters yet. PlayPie also created a digital invitation for me, which was a huge bonus because Evite is no longer free! This took several email exchanges to get right, but overall, I was quite pleased with the end result. Everyone showed up and no one got lost! Digital invite, success! I received a friendly reminder call, about 6 days prior to the actual day of the party, to confirm the headcount within 3 days. The lady that called me must have forgotten to also mention for me to also finalize any add-on. Since I am very particular about getting things done right, I emailed PlayPie the final headcount and listed the add-on with the specific quantities. Several email exchanges later, the party was a success! The only complaint I received from my guests was that the ladies at the front desk did not mention or direct where the party room was. They had to walk around looking for the room. Also, I had someone pick up and drop off a two tiered cake. By the time I arrived, the cake had toppled over like a sad, leaning tower of Pisa. The young hostess of my party was a little stressed out. She was afraid of my reaction, but was actually surprised by how forgiving and understanding I was. These things happen and it wasn't her fault. She did try the best she could to fix it, but the cake was just not cooperating. And she received a very generous gratuity for her excellent customer service. There were some areas of PlayPies' customer service that could use a little bit of improvement. But otherwise, PlayPie exceeded my expectations in the planning, decorating and execution of the party. All I did was literally, just show up hungry and ready to mingle! If you want a clean, fun and safe place for your kid's next party without the hassle of putting the party together, this is the place to do it! Thanks PlayPie! There are very few things in this world I enjoy less, than spending time at an indoor play gym. But if you have young kids and your spouse decides that it's a good idea, this is the one to come to. First of all, the space is pretty large and offers a good mix of activities for young kids. I like this place because the giant play structure is appropriately sized for my 3 year old, so he can pretty much do everything on his own. Everything except that big red slide in the middle. That thing is seriously fast. The tube slide is a cool feature that other places don't have and the nicely stocked reading area is a cool touch. I also like how clean they try to keep the place with plenty of workers supervising all areas. If there were a couple of areas that could be improved, I would suggest they add some paper towels in the bathrooms and some healthier options at the snack bar. My kid went over to see what they had and all I saw were sugary Pororo drinks and juice boxes. PlayPie is located on the first floor of The Source, which seems to be getting busier by the week. So if you're okay with paying a bit more and dealing with some crowds on weekends, this place is worth a shot. At least your kids will enjoy it. read more

I brought my 14 month old son here excited to let him play and interact in a safe and inviting environment. However, I was disappointed in the designated play areas. They have a toddlers area for 2 and under (where my son was playing) and another area for kids 3 or older. I understand that the parents are the ones to watch their kids, however there was zero regulation for letting much older kids into the toddler area. Much larger and developed children were allowed to roll into the toddler area and make the play area VERY unsafe. I couldn't count the number of times I had to run to my son to save him from getting ran over by older kids. I'm extremely frustrated by this because I could not let my son just explore freely. Super fun place for the whole family! Came here for the first time today with my family and our friends and everyone had a blast. This place is big enough to have areas from small toddlers to slides that even adults can go down, but it's not so big that you feel like you'll lose your kid if you take your eyes off him/her. It's nicely air conditioned throughout with a small library, snack shop, pretend play shops and private party rooms. Entrance fee is a bit pricey but it's worth it because you can stay as long as you want or go in and out all day long. read more

Crazy busy went we went but lots of stuff for kids to climb and explore. Keeping an active 2-3 year old out of the bigger kids area is hard since they are right next to each other and to get to the ball pit you have to go into the big kid area but ours ended up doing all the big stuff just fine. The place definitely has poor capacity management and inexperience with incident handling. I was pretty upset how the staff dealt with my situation. My 3 year old girl was pushed off of the a single lane bridge by a grown 8-9 year old boy that was running around the playground disrespecting younger kid's space. My 3 year old was a bit slow crossing a bridge, the boy on the opposite direction didn't wait for my 3 year old and pretty much went over her and she fell, I thought the boy didn't mean it so I told my girl to get back up and the boy then just waited in the area until my 3 year old went back up crossing the bridge for the 2nd time and the boy just gave my 3 year old a kick to shove her off of the bridge, clearly it was intentional and my 3 year old fell and started crying, lucky she wasn't hurt. I tried finding out who the boy's parent is by asking several times out loud, no parent step forward until I went to the staff to asked the boy to be kicked out and then the parent appeared out of nowhere and apparently she was sitting in the back the whole time and did not say anything. Staff then just watched me argue with parent back and forth for solid 5-10 minutes without saying anything. The mom basically is justifying boy's action because the boy is autistic, not that I'm not sympathetic but it doesn't justify boy's bad action of intentionally trying to hurt someone. Again staff didn't seem to have taken any action against the parent and the boy, at least not to my knowledge as staff did not inform me in any way or check if my kid was okay or if they're going to do something about it. In the end, I just left instead of just waiting for something to happen. It definitely felt like the place is just trying to pack as many people as they can without any consequences to maximize profit and there were definitely way too many kids/people in such a small place that day. After this incident, I don't think I'll be going back. Always keep an eye out for your kid, don't expect other kids/parents to behave with good intention. read more

Located in "The Source" of Buena Park, there is ample parking in the structure and pretty easy to find inside the shopping mall. Pros: 1) My favorite is definitely the different "play areas"- like the doctor's office, store, fire station, etc., that come with different props for pretend play in each area. 2) The book area is nice and organized, with a huge variety of different books for children 3) They have a great variety of activities for different age ranges, (e.g., tubing down a slide area) 4) Bright, spacious area 5) Cubby areas for people to put their belongings and shoes in. 6) Unlimited in and out entry Cons: 1) It gets SUPER crowded on the weekends. While waiting for a tube in the slide area, I saw two adults arguing loudly in front of me (and it looked like it was about to get physical) and it made me feel super uncomfortable and unsafe. I think staff should have monitored and intervened before it got to that point. 2) The whole time I was there (about 2 hours), I didn't see any workers wipe down anything. Some of the items there were also super old and dirty. I saw little kids picking their noses and touching items, others licking items, and so cleanliness was an issue for me here. 3) Although prices are fairly reasonable, it can get pretty expensive as they charge $5 for each adult as well. Most play places allow 1-2 adults with every child included into the fee. 4) Some props were lacking (e.g., "snow" in the play area, props in the different stations) 5) No food allowed to be brought in. Took my kid here several times. In the outside, it looks like it would be really fun and clean. In the inside, not so much clean at all. First of all, NOBODY ever is wiping anything. They have staffs only in the front or the snack area. Nobody is walking around or checking to see if everyone is fine or playing safe. Basically, once you pay, you're on your own. I came here Sunday afternoon for a play date with a friend and her daughter. The toddler area is small, and they did not enforce the age limit of 2 and under. There were lots of big older kids coming into there already small area, running and jumping around while our two babies were trying to play. It didn't seem clean either; I saw lots of hair in the toddler area. It would also be nice to have bathroom slippers when you use the bathroom because I'm sure there's lots of dirty stuff on the floors, and then we walk with our socks on the bathroom floor and all over the mats inside the play areas. read more

When we were in college, it was always about finding the hottest night clubs and hangout spots. Now that we have kids... different story. If you're looking for the "hottest" place to hang out with kids age 6 and under in OC, look no further. Playpie is where it's happening. Located on the first floor of The Source, a Korean mall in Buena Park, Playpie was literally built to keep kids entertained, engaged, and most importantly, out of your hair as you join the throngs of parents scrolling on their smartphones as their kids run around somewhere in the 12,000+ square foot indoor playground. What I like about Playpie is that they have something for everyone. There's the big playground of course with a HUGE and STEEP red slide that momentarily took even my breath away. There's a designated area for toddlers (age 2 and under) that is age appropriate but still fun. There's a large, separate room where a digital aquarium is projected on the wall (one really cool thing about this is that kids can paint/design a fish on one of their interactive tablet tables and send their creation to join the aquarium). There's even a reading area with tons of books for kids to choose from. And for those who didn't come prepared (or don't mind spending $2 for a juice box), there's a snack corner where kids can indulge in all sorts of juices, sports drinks, chips, and candies. I know my son (3.5 y/o) loved Playpie because when it came time to leave after 2 hours of playing there (we were literally the first ones in line when they opened up at 10am), he threw a tantrum and ran back inside THREE times. Playpie, you win. Just take my money and don't remind me that coming here regularly can add up FAST. Buying a 10-pack is pricy ($180 for ages 2 and up, $120 for under 2), but one good thing is that 1 adult can come in for "free" each time you come. Otherwise, adults have to pay $5 each visit. Another thing is remember to bring socks! Socks are required, even for adults, and will set you back another $2 if you come barefoot. read more

My kids love to play at PlayPie. I think there are lots of fun activities here, however this place is not clean from my point of view. From outside, this place looks neat and clean. But I found that there are many kids who put small toys in their mouths and none of staff checks it. After Covid, it's all about sanitizing and cleaning. I noticed a staff used a sanitizing gun with UV light and some sort of spray over the slides. I haven't seen anyone wiping or cleaning toys. But I still found that several kids get sick after playing at PlayPie. I hope that they rotate the small kitchen toys which tend to get licked by many kids, or actually clean and wipe those small toys. My kid once put the toy in his mouth so I had to tell the staff to please clean it since my kid licked it. If I was a careless mom who didn't see my kid was doing that or didn't tell the staff, then no body would've known it. My kids love this place so I would probably go back. But I would bring my own sanitizing wipes and i would have my kids wash their hands very often. read more

This place is small and probably best for kids under 8-10 years old. I went in with my 7 and 13 years old with the plan for my 7 yrs old to play while my 13 yrs old and I watching. I checked with the front lady she said I had to pay for 2 kids and 1 adult since per policy price is $5 for 18+ years old and $20 for under 18. $45 for one kid to play?? Really? Other spots we have been they have height limit rule so if kids are taller that the limit they cannot play and I have to pay for them at adult price which make sense to me. There are nothing for big kids to play anyway so I don't know why they want to charge $20 for them. read more

This is a fun place for kids 1 to probably 7. It is located a relatively, new shopping center. There are barely anyone at this shopping center so finding parking in the parking structure is very easy. The shopping center is Asian themed so there are some good Asian eats, which is good because unlike other Asian indoor playgrounds, this PlayPie does not have a restaurant. It is purely play. You have in-and-out privileges so that helps if you want to grab a bite in-between your visit. They have the Microsoft Surface tables (or something like it) where kids can draw fishes and displayed them on the projector screen. They have virtual, interactive games projected from the ceiling onto the floor. There is a ball pit. Pretend, mini-stories where they can pretend to be in the grocery store, police/fire station, beauty salon, restaurant, etc. Another play around just for 2 and younger. 3 and up has another area where they can climb up and slide down multiple slides. There is even a reading area with dones of books. So this is great for kids. The pads are getting worn out so hopefully they are replacing them. They have 2 rooms for parties. 1 area for adults to sit. They do have free Wi-Fi but it gets iffy when there are lots of people, and supposedly people from other stores are using it too so Internet is not great. The adult area does not have outlets. So for adults, it is not the best if you are looking to keep your kid(s) occupied so you can get some work done. read more

I have recently returned from a long trip to Korea, where an original place for 'indoor kids play ground(cafe)', I did have visited many popular places including the most infamous place in the most expensive area in Seoul. Playpie is a decent indoor kids place I can find in OC, I think the price is reasonable. In order to keep the place clean and maintain the facility for kids safety and all, the admission fee is very fair. I also appreciated Playpie doesn't require any purchases at the snack corner, many places do ask. Like one beverage per adult is pretty typical. Also, I can go out and re-enter all day, which is a super good deal! I loved the little library section with cute books, many kids places are lacking it! It is such a great combo to enjoy physical activity and take it slow a bit at the reading area. My soon to be 3 year old totally enjoyed the reading books there for awhile. Hoped it was a bigger so mini car rides can actually had a space to move around and had trampoline area, a mini carousel, and train, so on! They have lots of sensory things for the kids to play with including a large screen aquarium room, slides, giant building blocks, climbing areas, fake snow play table and reading room. Taking one star off because it's expensive at $36 for two kids and an adult and a little girl had a super runny nose in the ball pit when I was trying to swim in it and then wiped it all over the balls. We heard about this place from some friends and wanted to see if our daughter would enjoy it. Overall PlayPie is very clean and organized, with many play areas for children at toddler ages and up. 5 and up area is super cool with many slides, play structures, interior inner tube slide, and a ball pit. The toddler area has a few points of interest: a gentle merry go round activated by red button, a soft brick house that toddlers can build, and two quick and safe slides. The whole area is equipped with soft mats which will help with trips and falls. The kitchen and grocery play area is fun but can sometimes be occupied by aggressive kids, so watch out. There is also a snow station where children can scoop up artificial snow, and a build station with connectable, stackable toys. The most underrated area has to be the mini library located near the projection room. It's clean, organized and open: perfect for children who want to read. This place has some room for improvement. There is no maximum capacity so there is a lot of foot traffic all of time (children and adults) which just makes this place more hazardous the busier it gets. Staff are friendly but can do a better job of crowd control and enforcing rules (there are many toddlers in the five and up area). The toddler area sign should read "4 and under" instead of 5, so our toddlers don't get trampled or pushed around by bigger kids (this happened to my daughter). Cleanliness should also be a higher priority. Definitely give this place a try, just know that it recently opened so management is still trying to figure out all the kinks including what I mentioned above. read more

I would say this place is good for children up to 9-10 years old. Theres a digital area you can draw fish on a screen and it appears on the wall, a reading nook, a sit down area for parents to rest and feed their children, a baby section filled with foam block toys, a small carousel and foam padded ground, ball pit, a pretend play place that has "pretend city feels," and the main attraction is the tunnels above that the kids can run through and slides. We have been here many times for playdates and the children are always sweaty and happy. When you go in everyone must take their shoes off and wear socks. If you don't have socks on prepare to pay for a pair. The prices are fair compared to other indoor play areas. There isn't much supervision, but I feel like that is the parents responsibility anyways. A couple friends of mine have done birthday parties here and it sounds like those are not worth it for what you pay, but for a play date this place is pretty awesome. read more
