Came here today and was impressed with the cleanliness upon arrival. I like the size of this play place, it's perfect for ages 6 and under. My 5 year old and 2 year old LOVED it. When my 5 year old tried to go into the smaller kid area (ages 4 and under) she was asked to leave by the female teenage employee at the entrance. This was at the same time that a 10 year old girl had been playing in there the past 20-30 minutes. When my daughter came to me crying I tried to walk her in there thinking it must not be a big deal because there were a few big kids in there, who looked to be around ages 8-10. I was surprised to be turned away by that same employee (while the other big kids were still in there). So confusing! I pointed this out and she said "that girl is sitting" (she had been hanging all over the merry go round just minutes before, which is right next to where she was standing at the entrance) and then the employee said "she also has a little brother here" (he looked about 4 or 5). So then I said "okay so can my daughter stay because my 2 year old wants to play in here" she then told us no and blocked us from entering. I went to the front desk and told that girl about the situation and she got the manager. He explained that it's for safety WHICH I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND - but then take out the other big kids so it's not confusing for anyone! He finally did have the bigger kids removed, and there were about 4-5 other way bigger kids than my daughter. It felt like we were being singled out by the staff here. They said they asked the other people to leave the area but they "didn't listen." Lol. So people like me and my daughter who listened were the only ones removed I guess. I guess you can just act like you don't understand and you get to break the rules, even if the rules are there for everyone else's "safety." This could be a learning opportunity for the staff here but you can go find out for yourself. My two kids love it here. The people are nice, the facilities are clean, and it's pretty affordable for the time and experience. It's also great that they allow adults to go with their young children into the play areas. However, my daughter (who has been going here for a long time) recently turned 5, and because of this, she is no longer allowed to enter the 4-and-under area (which her younger 3-year-old brother is still allowed). This broke her heart when I had to pull her out of the area when a worker let us know. This is extremely unfortunate because there are so many things in the younger kids area that are not in the main area, such as a ball pit, a merry-go-round, a spinning seat, and the building blocks. It made my daughter cry to see my son go in and she is not allowed. We were regulars here but this crucial detail has pretty much taken Candeeland off of our list of places to take our kids. My daughter has 4-year-old friends who she went here with and that just isn't in the cards either, simply because there is places they cannot all go together. Very unfortunate because we love this place. Please keep in mind, if you are looking for a place to go and have multiple kids, keep in mind that depending on their ages, there is areas that not all your kids may be able to go together here and it may negatively affect the experience. read more

My son weighs less than 51 pounds and communicates using an AAC device because he cannot speak. One of the few places he genuinely loves is Candeeland. He asks for it regularly on his device, and his favorite area is the 4-and-under section because it provides the sensory environment and play equipment that feels safe and comfortable for him. After purchasing a membership and providing documentation of his diagnosis, we were informed that he would no longer be allowed to use that area because he is over the age limit. While I understand the need for policies, what is difficult to understand is the lack of flexibility for children with disabilities when exceptions already seem to exist in other ways. Reading reviews, I see many parents mention that their younger children enjoy both the toddler area and the main play area. If younger children can safely access the larger side, why can't accommodations be considered for special-needs children who rely on the sensory features of the younger section? What breaks my heart most is that my son does not understand these rules. He continues to ask for Candeeland on his communication device, and now we have to explain that he cannot go because he is no longer allowed to play in the area he loves. For a child who struggles to communicate, routines and familiar environments matter. Watching him ask for a place that he cannot understand has been incredibly painful. I also believe Candeeland has an opportunity to be more inclusive. The sensory-friendly features currently located in the 4-and-under section could easily be replicated in a designated area on the main floor. Located inside a busy mall with thousands of visitors, Candeeland is in a unique position to create a welcoming space for children of all abilities and sensory needs. This isn't about asking for special treatment. It's about recognizing that not every 9-year-old has the same developmental needs. Inclusion means creating spaces where all children can participate, not just those who fit neatly into an age category. Have been here before for playmates and its great when the kids want to run around and parents don't want to be out in the sun. Bonus points, the place is fully shoe free as soon as you walk in, but the bathrooms have foam sandals for you to borrow and not get your feet wet. But let me tell you about their party packaged... absolutely recommend! We opted for the all in. You get a 3hr pass, private room, pizzas (your choice cheese or pepperoni), and your choice in drinks per person. Candeeland is on the second floor of Main Place mall next to Round One! Plenty of free parking surrounding the mall. I purchased tickets and signed the waiver online. Entering was quick and easy. I did have to purchase their socks with grip for $3. Adults also have to wear regular socks which are available for purchase if needed. We arrived an hour before closing on an early closing day on a weekday, so it was not as busy and it was very clean! The staff was actively cleaning for a private party after closing. I liked the "little land" for ages 4 and under. Everything is soft, small and perfect for the littles! It was nice to let baby run around in a safe place. Some bigger kids did come in to the ball pit which was not fun, but we easily found another area to play in. I did go to the main, bigger area with the baby since it was empty. There are fun little areas with punching bags and obstacle courses. Once you climb up inside the main playground, it is not baby friendly / safe so I don't recommend letting little ones go up alone. read more

Candeeland is a pretty fun place for kids. I'd say for indoor play areas, the strengths include the slides and vertical nature of the arena. We came in on a weekday morning right when they opened and it was pretty easy to use our Groupon to get in - the staff member at the front who helped us out was very accommodating! We brought in grippy socks, so no need to buy theirs. My 6-year-old went through the entire arena in about 20min, whereas my 4-year-old only explored a tiny bit in the hour that we bought. There's an area for younger kids and a few spots for adults to sit and wait, but adults were also going with their kids into the arena. They had some music playing and I wish that the lighting was a little better. I get that some areas are more fun in darker environments; but, for example, the wavy slide area could have been brighter. There's an obstacle course and plenty of places for kids to hang out. They also have a snack area, a grab machine area, and some ice cream. For the price, not bad! But an hour is more than enough for an adventurous kid. read more

Attended a friends son 5th birthday at candee land in santa ana and this place is pretty dang awesome for kids. Bonus Blippee has visited candee land. The playground is a lot of fun for kids with lots of maze like passage ways and large slide for kids to run around to their hearts content. The little land is very cute with the manual merry go round that little kids can enjoy and the ball pit is very large with a ball suction tube. See saws a plenty for them to play and make friends with. Such a fun environment and great for birthday parties for the little ones. The party space for the birthday celebration is very large with plenty of trash receptacles. Everyone needs to have socks on including adults. They also have parents covered with pay for massage chairs inside the back corner by the restroom area for parents to relax while their kids play. My lil one loved it here and will likely be back maybe for her birthday. Since this is a bit far from us. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Its in the mall on the second floor next to ashley homes. The mall is also right by the discovery cube so its a plus for parents to meet up with friends and have their kiddos play together. This place is really nice. Very clean and is spacious, they have a cute section for 4 years and younger and they keep to the rules in that. Everyone who works there is also super nice. They also have cute rooms for parties and can even close the playground before it opens if you want to throw a private party and rent the whole place. It's inside the mall on the second floor near the round 1 kinda. I would've given the place a 4 but it just got super crowded during the weekend, I'm not sure what the policy is, but just seemed like a lot. The prices are fair, $15 per kid for 30 min, then $3 per adult. We do like coming out to eat out here so we will probably be back. It's perfect for kids 4 years and younger because they can access both play sections (little land and the main play structure) There were definitely a lot of kids, but not to the point where it disrupted your own fun. It looked like there was quite a few staff members monitoring the playing which I thought was great. Overall everything looked clean as well. I've been to many play gyms, and this is probably my least favorite so far. It is not ideal if you have multiple kids with one older than 4 and younger than 4, because the play areas are separate. We were told i couldn't bring both into one area which complicated being able to supervise both at the same time. Most places I've been allow older kids to be in the toddler area, and vice versa. Just makes it difficult for siblings to play with one another and made it hard for me to watch both. We left after 30 minutes. It is fairly small and you can tell it is on the older side (a little run down). I wouldn't come back, and if all Candeelands operate this way with strict rules on toddler areas, I wouldn't recommend or come back. read more

GroupOn brought us here, no regrets. I was shocked at how big the facility was once inside. Very colorful and interactive. The 4 and under section is very helpful. Keeps the real young ones occupied and out of harms way, that being the bigger kids who run the show in the main play area. The staff does a great job keeping the place clean. The snack bar is always fully stocked, minus popcorn which is apparently a weekend delicacy. Adults are able to explore and enjoy just as much as the kids. I really enjoyed coming here with my kids. In the under 4 area, there are a few options to play before climbing inside the ball pit and going up. Outside the pit there is a few things to play with that my 7 month old was able to hold & the worker was constantly cleaning within that area. In the bigger kids area , it was nice to play in that area and take my 22 month old down the slide! It goes fast and kind of throws you off lol but she had fun. Overall, enjoyed our time there and was glad there wasn't stuff that felt sticky/grimy. A bonus I did not expect was that the last hr was $10! We will definitely be coming back ! We never been here so we called ahead to figure out what we had to do and costs. Adults could wear any type of socks but the kids had to wear grippy socks. One kid admission gives you one adult for free. Any additional adult would cost $3 per adult. There is a groupon deal for weekdays only, no weekends. Location: If you want to just go up the escalator , we parked on Panini kabob grill side. This is just an FYI for all autistic families -- Candeeland now has a new rule that they no longer cater to or support autistic kids. My twins (both on the spectrum) have always loved coming here, especially the little kids' section with the sensory play equipment like the spinning chair, seesaw, and merry-go-round. In the past, staff would mark their stickers at check-in so they'd be allowed in that area. Today, however, I had an incident with an employee who told us that the twins couldn't play in the little kids' section because they're over 4 years old. I explained that the front desk had instructed us to let the supervising employee know that the twins are autistic. However, this particular employee told us that Candeeland has a new corporate rule: even if a child is autistic, they are no longer allowed in the little kids' section. He said it doesn't matter what the diagnosis is -- the rule applies to everyone. I asked him to please inform management that the front desk staff should be properly oriented to communicate this change. What's the point of disclosing our children's diagnosis at check-in if Candeeland no longer supports it? I understand my kids aren't "little" anymore, but they're autistic. They don't bother other kids -- they're good kids who simply enjoy playing in the sensory area. It's hard for them to know what they can or can't do. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I wanted to share it as a heads-up for other autistic families with older kids. read more
