    It's a ghost town

There's a reason it's empty on a Saturday afternoon during their weekend happy hour 12 days before Christmas. Service was slow, and wrong drinks delivered after 15 min of waiting (again, food was blander than Taco Bell. Not appealing on the plate whatsoever. It's rare for me to give one star, but in this case it's warranted. At 7.25 for a frozen marg, we were ready to order, eat, laugh, drink, enjoy.... We literally paid the $50 bill and went to Cheesecake Factory.

This location at Ross Park Mall has had a lot of restaurant turnover. I chose this restaurant for convenience v. intentional. Started with a raspberry mojito. It was cold and refreshing. Bartender had a heavy pour. Chips with salsa and crema (?) were left at the table. The staff were fluent in Spanish. My waitress was unable to answer questions (in English) about the menu. The Plaza del Mar was served on a pretty plate. The portions of rice and salsa were small. The white fish and shrimp had "lobster bisque" over it. The "lobster bisque" wasn't on the menu to order. Not a lobster in sight. Placed a to go order for churros and Seafood Enchiladas. Both were in tin to-go containers aka not microwave-able. The churros were good. I would return for a to go order. The Seafood Enchiladas were served with rice. Both entrees were very salty.

Really good chicken soft taco lots of meat. The ground beef taco had lots of meat but didn't have as much flavor as I hoped. We had the molcajete which was really good. The Birria tacos were really good. The chicken chimichanga was pretty good but for $14 it was a little bit on the small side. Shrimp Tostada was really good and fresh like ceviche

The pollo asada was deliciously cheesy and the churros were fantastic. I will be coming back for sure.

Yes, it's a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. Allusion is a beer oasis tucked between life's greatest challenges: renewing your license and resisting discount snacks. Inside, it's clean, cozy, and no frills, which is exactly what you want when the beer is doing all the talking. And let me tell you, the beer has a lot to say. We tried the 1810 Oktoberfest and As You Wish (which made me feel like I was being serenaded by Wesley from The Princess Bride), and both were excellent. We also grabbed a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and a Reuben, each paired with a cup of clam chowder that was creamy, comforting, and possibly made with magic (or butter, which is basically the same thing). The proprietor was friendly, knowledgeable, and doing everything short of brewing the beer mid-conversation. Honestly, if he'd started juggling pint glasses, I wouldn't have been surprised. Long story short: the beers are top-notch, the food hits the spot, and the vibe is low-key awesome. Allusion has earned a spot on our regular rotation, and possibly a spot in our hearts.

The owners are friendly and see to it that everyone is enjoying themselves and relaxing. They care about the community and often have fund raisers to help various causes. The popcorn machine is one of my favorite features and puts out a great FREE snack to go with your beer. And the beer is ALWAYS COLD which I love any day of the year !! They have an area with pool tables televisions and seating so you can watch your friends play. I would give them a "10" if they had a full working kitchen ! But they do put out various sandwiches, fries, fresh deli subs...that everyone seems to enjoy. The place is huge with plenty of room at the bar so you don't have to worry about not having a seat. They have a party like atmosphere for sports games to watch on 1 of the MANY t.v.s and even puts out a free buffet for when teams reach playoffs ! And they have a Jolly Roger flag that they raise with the help of patrons to pose with when our Pirates win ! There is always 1 or more of the 3 owners there mingling with the patrons and seeing to everyone's comfort!

This restaurant offers bar seating and a decent amount of tables within the restaurant. I ordered a burger and it was delicious! It was absolutely massive, which I appreciated because I happily enjoyed the leftovers the following day! The gluten free bun was really yummy as well! Burger was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and very juicy! The side salad was wonderful too! I also ordered a ginger beer, which was super delicious! It took them over a year to renovate it and they still aren't done in the back and the parking lot is a little rutted but the inside is very nicely done. There is a huge bar and some high and low tables scattered throughout. The clientele is mostly locals and lot of laborers grabbing a drink and a bite to eat after working hard all day which was great to see. It's super casual and very open inside. We had a few beers and the bartender was good. She was attentive and was waiting on 20 folks at the bar as well as table drinks. The manager was able to help serve some food to help her out but never once asked us how everything was. That was a little bit of a missed opportunity in my opinion for a new business. We ordered a breakfast burger that came with some hashbrowns on the side. I assumed, which is my fault totally, that the burger would come with lettuce, tomato, etc. but it truly was JUST a burger, egg, and cheese and absolutely no other toppings. That was disappointing and I really wish the bartender would have asked if I wanted anything on it. I ended up using ketchup for moisture since she was so busy and I was hungry. :) The hashbrowns were frozen and fried so they were nothing special. I think this place has tremendous potential. We'll be back to try something else. It seems busy so that's a good sign.

Great sports watching venue, with wall to wall TV screens all over. Clean, shiny, and with some fun sports games too (i. e. golf video, darts, etc). The menu offers lots of ol local favorites and some with a nice twist (i. e. pulled pork sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, Chipped ham Sammy, etc). Had the Isleys chipped ham sandwich which they serve warm with melted cheddar, grilled onions on a bun. However, they were gracious enough to make it for me cold, with Mayonnaise and a slice of cheese. This is unlike another place down the road (RI) from them that wouldn't adjust items on a sandwich for me last week. The waiter/bartender was super chill too, easy to talk to and basically good at his job. Our refills came quickly and without asking. He followed up to see what we wanted a couple times and the food arrived in a reasonable time (not much waiting at all). This was so very different from that same day where at our usually spot (another old bar/restaurant further down the road, "SJ") we had to walk out just after ordering lunch due to getting attitude from a mouthy waitress. Glad we decided to try this new spot! Great job! I think we found our new local "go to" bar/restaurant. Looking forward to it and to soon trying breakfast there on weekends too. A must try f you haven't been there yet.
