4.5 stars overall. Emiliano's is a Mexican restaurant chain that has several locations in the Pittsburgh area. Please see my attached photos for the menu for the restaurant in Gibsonia in March 2024. In the past few years, my husband and I have visited this particular location in Gibsonia a couple of times. This restaurant is spacious and clean, is decorated nicely, and has a full bar. The seating hostess has always kindly said hello and promptly seated us. Our waiters always have pleasant personalities, bring our beverages and foods in a timely manner, and offer drink refills. Here are our ratings for our most recent meal: Mushroom-cheese quesadilla - 5 stars - This appetizer was a good size and contained gooey cheese and fresh mushrooms. Cheese dip - 5 stars - We ordered this queso to accompany the free salsa and tortilla chips. This queso was gooey and tasted very cheesy. Camarones al ajillo - 4 stars - This entree was part of their Lenten menu. I greatly appreciate that the restaurant offered foods for customers who fast. Several shrimp were juicy and flavorful. Rice was cooked perfectly. Mixed vegetables were steamed and needed seasoning. Carne asada - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this entree, and he said that he really liked how the steak had been marinated and was very flavorful. I enjoy this place every time I go! The Margaritas are excellent, no matter which one you get. I like to sit at the bar and watch TV while sipping my marg and eating. My go-to are the chicken enchiladas and the cheese enchiladas and I get an order of grilled, sliced jalapeños to cover the enchiladas. They recently redecorated and the atmosphere is good. I have been to the Oakland location but only for drinks. So I was really excited to try the food this time! Service was at first really great. But when it came time to pay, it took forever to find him. We ended up going to the bar to pay since we were in a hurry. I got 2 margaritas - the apple cider (yummy and warm, could barely taste the liquor) and the fruit punch which was so amazing! I would go back specifically for this margarita. I ordered veggie fajitas. It was more onions than anything and it didn't seem like a lot. But the rice and black beans helped make up for it. They were filling and very flavorful. OK so, benefit of the doubt because they were slammed for Cinco de Mayo--which fun fact isnt about Mexican Independence.... Google it ---but still 3 stars for Emiliano's. IT's okay/good chain Mexican food. We waited 45 minutes for our table due to it being slammed, and one of the staff asked if we wanted a drink while we waited. The friend asked for a daiquiri. Thing is the staff never came back with it. When we got our table, it'd been sitting on the bar top for a while. I let this slide because they were slammed, but have a server run it out if you're busy. The friend I was with and I split the cantina fries after we got our table and honestly they were really good, but the chorizo was not spicy at all. Good option for people who have 0 spice tolerance. The friend got a quesadilla as her main, which she liked and I got the Choripollo (chicken and chorizo, just call it that, dont make up a word) tacos, which were good but again the chorizo could've been actually spicy. My watermelon margarita was fine as well. Just a heads up that drinks like ours are over $10, so just as for a beer list. read more

I'm sad to have to give such a poor review. It would've been better but there was a mistake on my bill that was not rectified. I ordered specifically from the lunch menu - the Burrito Grande for 11.99. The bill I received and disputed with the waiter was 18.99 and I was told it was the dinner portion. I informed the waiter that was not what I ordered. He saw me point to the item on the lunch menu. I regret not asking for management to pursue further but we needed to be somewhere in a short time after lunch. I was basically told, "Sorry lady". Besides that, the food was not very flavorful and was definitely not spicy at all. The best part of the experience was the chips and salsa. I would not recommend this restaurant. We stopped to eat in on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated in about 5 minutes which was great. We ordered the pastor tacos, chicken and steak fajitas and a burger off the kids menu. The tacos were okay. The corn tortillas were a bit mushy by time we got our food but it wasn't enough to be a big issue. The fajitas were delicious. Our burger was undercooked. Our 4 year old wouldn't have waited for a new one so we just let it go without mention. He didn't take more than a bite of that. I ordered a margarita. It was thick from the mango purée. A bit too thick for a margarita. I'd order something else next time I think. My husband ordered a beer and seemed pleased with that. We've ordered takeout from here but I didn't want to review based on that. By time you get your food home it's never as great as it would have been seated inside the restaurant. But now that we've dined in, I can say that we felt okay about our trip. Not great, but not awful either. This place is close to home so we'll likely give it one more shot. Met with some family who were passing through & just so appreciated that it was as enjoyable & tasty as it was. Our server (I didn't catch his name unfortunately) was so attentive without being overbearing & had a great attitude. 5 of us, and a couple were not as acquainted with different Latin foods but tried a recommendation of the Birria quesadillas & shrimp tacos - they just loved it. Had table side guacamole + chicharrones which you don't see too often - guac was done beautifully- slightly chunky & perfect amount of lime. Very nice taco plate presentations & the tortillas flashed in a little oil made for flexible shells with a slight crunch. Not at all your run of the mill Latin American spot. Much more authentic here. Margaritas were done so well too. Give it 5 stars all the way seeing my family members so happy trying new things & not scared off by the unfamiliar foods. First time here. The prices, wow! Too high for what you get. Maybe if the quality was better but, it wasn't. I got two enchiladas, a smear of rice and really gross kind of water downed flavorless beans. The enchiladas themselves were good. Got two, a bit tiny for how much you pay. My meal was 13.99. The unsweetened ice tea was really good. Some places bring you a new glass each time but here, they took our same glasses, straws and all and kept using the same one. First time any place has done this. Just a little odd. Our waiter was top notch, kept our chips and glasses filled. The food was actually hot (not just the plate) and I actually had to blow on it. My other half got the nachos. It was like a thin layer of meat, tons of lettuce and barely any chips. He said it tasted really good but it was tiny and they could have put more meat. It wasn't crowded and we got ignored a bit when we first walked in. Lower your prices, get better quality and put more than just a little bit. For two people it was like $37 before tip. This dates back to mid-October when COVID was as much under control than since it became a thing. We stillopted to dine outside for a safer experience. If Yelp asked for a title, it would be "Lost in Translation" as that's where things went slightly off-the rails. We had a nice young Mexican (no surprise) waiter. We don't know Spanish, but generally communicated well enough to begin the evening. We had to study the menu a bit as Mexican food is not that familiar to us. We decided to begin with a fish tacos appetizer, but asked that if the fish was fried to let us know & we'd order something else. We also ordered an adult beverage at the time, Since the waiter did not return to tell us anything about the fish tacos, we ordered our main courses when he brought the cocktail. Soon after another employee brought the fish tacos & they were clearly fried, so the waiter eventually returned and we expressed our dis-satisfaction. He appologized & we ordered instead a mushroom + spinach quaisada. No doubt the "fried" thing was a bit too detailed for him as relatively new English speaker & since we were outside by ourselves, there was no manager overlooking the scene to have stepped-in to assist. The next inconvenience happened when the 2nd employee returned again with both our new appetizer & main courses - we were overwhelmed with nice hot food as the outdoor temperature was falling. We eventually got the attention of a manager who had stepped-out & offered to put our quaisada back to stay warm, but we decided to go whole-hog & attack it all at once, along withthe beans/rice side dish they included. The quaisada was very good, the drink was very good & the shrimp frajitas were also very good. The frajitas contained plenty of shrimp & other accompaniments. Even the rice had a good flavor - it was just a bit too much of a good thing(s) at one time. When I went inside to pay the check, another manager was there at the register & I mentioned how all the hot food came at once. She gave me half-off the appetizer which seemed fair. We ended up taking home most of one of the frajitas dinners. It was just an odd circumstance, but no major harm. We'll return when indoor dining is fully back, and presumably, everything is back to normal. read more

Biggest change for the worst - food was tiny. Way tiny. Almost no meat. The sides now come in a little double-sided dish that may contain 3-4 TABLESPOONS ???!!! Thought it was a joke. Its rice and beans, for godsakes....still plentiful in this crazy world. No excuse for this Left hungry. Shame. It had been a good place to go. If I could give less than 1 star I would. This review makes me sad as I use to be a frequent customer however they don't have their s#*t together at all lately. During co-vid we really try and go to local restaurants to ensure they stay in business and most have done a great job, this being the glaring exception. Pickup is an absolute disaster and zero rules are being followed regarding social distancing. We placed an order for pickup and were told 20 minutes( which seemed reasonable as we placed the order at 4:30pm) and they always have the food out fast. We arrived by 5pm and food still was not ready by 6pm. By this time the entire waiting room was completely filled with others waiting for their orders and the staff was still taking online and over the phone orders and telling everyone 20 minutes. To make it worse our entire order was wrong and freezing cold when we got it- guess it was sitting somewhere for the past 1.5 hours while we waited? I called to talk to mgmt and they had little regard for the issue. Great customer service- we won't be back. If you value your time and any social distancing don't order here. read more

I used to love this place but stopped going for a while because the service was bad. I decided to go with a co worker after work for my birthday. Samantha wasn't friendly at all. I was ordering my food and asked with the shrimp tacos can I get one fish taco and she said no you can not and just walked away when I was still talking to her. Later we asked for more chips and salsa and she never brought it I had to get the other waitress Grace to help us. Not only was the service bad but my food was cold. I went out to celebrate my birthday which couldn't use my birthday coupon because it was a Saturday me still willing to pay got told no you can't order that. When I'm in town my family always takes me here. Living in San Diego it's hard to find somewhere in Pittsburgh that can replicate authentic Mexican food but this place does the job! I order my usual Chicken Fajitas and cannot complain. They come out sizzling, with a side of soft tortillas, and all the fixings. One thing I have come to love is Horchata so when I saw Horchatini (Horchata Martini) on the menu, naturally, I had to order it! It was SO good. Like, I gulped it down within 3 sips lol. Disappointing to say the least, orders were completely wrong, the waiter was absolutely horrible and rude, beyond belief. It was like he was putting on an act of not understanding...but he could well understand. First off it was like he didn't understand English or Spanish! Also, I'm sorry to say but there is no way we ordered two kids cheeseburgers! But this awful, slow as molasses waiter took forever to bring the kids water, or anyone at the table a drink, sent two kids meals with cheeseburgers, messed up the fajita order, sent the entire wrong order of one meal. So completely awful...and to top off it with more than just the wrong meals, yes plural, meals and no water, I ended up puking in a parking lot!! I wasn't expecting much of a small Mexican restaurant in a strip mall in Gibsonia, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Mar y Tierra and a tall Negra Modelo. It was a perfect steak done medium with four shrimp on top over a bed of mexican rice. Not many customers on a Wednesday night, but service, atmosphere, food and beer were great! I spoke Spanish with the waiter, I would have liked it if he had engaged a little more, but he was all business. We really don't have any Mexican restaurant in Erie that would compare favorably with this one. read more
