Went to see Annabelle, and had a terrible experience. To begin with while standing in line to get a bottle of water a little twerp dumped her popcorn all over my fiancé and I shoes, getting oil all over them and effectively ruining her shoes. All of this transpired without a word of apology or acknowledgement of what she had done. Thinking that her mother would say something about it, or at least discipline her kid we looked to her. Much to our dismay we see she is surrounded by at least 6 more kids also running rampant. Our adventure continues once we get into the theater finding no seats side by side because people do not how to sit next to strangers and are oblivious to the fact there are multiple couples searching for seating. This angered us seeing as we purchased our tickets for the 7:45 show at 2:30 that afternoon. We were able to get a refund and tickets to see any movie for free. So the two stars is for the manager. If you don't like crowds of screaming Mexican children who are rude and whose parents don't control their kids this is not the place to go! read more

Nicely remodeled and very clean theater (even the bathrooms)! The staff is always friendly, and the popcorn is excellent! It's a bonus that popcorn seasoning is available for no charge! Many theaters make you buy the seasoning. I love Plaza 14 and can't wait to see another movie there! read more

This place has great ticket prices on regular days for normal 2D films($10). They also have $5 tickets for Discount Days on Tuesday and Sunday for the regular films. They have 3D films here too for $13 and offer discounts during Tuesday and Sunday for just $8. This applies to all 3D films all day. The seats are fairly comfortable here. The theatre is located near a few places to eat so you can go before or after a movie. It's a good place to hang out with a few friends. Just be sure to go when they aren't super packed. read more

Well, I'm Gary and my wife Debra and I really love going to Plaza 14. The manager Cudi is very very nice and the other staff that work there has been very kind to us. The theater's always clean and the popcorn is always fresh and we love the the special discount days. We don't mind paying a little bit more on the holidays but it gives us a chance to get away and enjoy each other while seeing a movie. Plaza 14 is one of the shining stars of Oxnard. I was worried about going here -- it was our first time, and it was the week before Christmas and the week after Star Wars VII opened, on a Sunday afternoon ($5 tickets). Being a Ventura snob, I thought there might be loud people in the theater, a long line, poor video or too much "downtown" ambiance. Have no fear -- easy parking, nice little outdoor mall, short line, well-behaved patrons, quality sound and video. I've been coming to this theater since it opened 10 yrs ago. My son was just few months old on grand opening day and since then it's been a family tradition to go to movies at least once a week. They have the best popcorn and great customer service. Restrooms are very clean as well as theater rooms and lobby. Marcos, the manager is amazing. He carries great customer service and does an excellent job maintaining a welcoming ambiance in the business. I recently tried the 4D theater and I have to say it's like going to disneyland! I want to the Plaza today to watch Jumanji and sat in line for 25 minutes for popcorn and soda. The theaters OK the employees seem to be good it's just the one employee that was working the popcorn his name was Tommy. Tommy was a slow worker seem like he was not into the job at all and the other Lines were going faster and I wish that I would've been a different line, other than that everything seems good. read more

Today I heard this theater has a Tuesday $5.00 day, so i quickly logged onto Fandango to look into it, its TRUE! $5.00 Day all day long on Tuesday. Great for: Family's-If you have a big family, you know how it can add up!, and friends! Wouldn't recommend for a first date sort of thing, don't be cheap on the first date! lol I usually go to Century Theaters (Cine-mark), so this was like going to a new theater for me. PROS: -$5.00 Movie's all day long Tuesday Only (3-D is more) -Theater is very well maintained -Parking Structure down the road -Starbucks, Subway, Cold Store Creamery, numerous restaurants right outside the theater (No outside drinks allowed inside theater) -Popcorn was fresh, and delicious! -Sound and Screen were in both great shape, no blemishes on screens, and no cracks in sound -Lots of workers=No waiting in line -Friendly staff (was nicer than Century's employees) -This theater also has a Ticket Kiosk Cons -Parking may be a bit tough to find on the street, suggestion is to park in the parking structure up the road. -No outside drinks/food (most theaters have the same rule, so put in your purses or jackets!) lol -Seats are not as comfy as surrounding theaters. They are not horrible, but if you have been inside Century Theater up the road you will know the difference. -When I drive by here I always see a million kids, and makes me want to go to other theaters. read more

This plaza is only a few years old and trying their best to stay afloat. From time to time, different eateries offer free movie tickets if you grab dinner at their restaurant...I believe Cappricios (sp?) was offering this combo. The seats are very comfortable and clean...stadium seating. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative experience was the actual movie, however, that was my faulty selection! read more

This is one place I go to a lot. I love this theater, it's my favorite in Ventura County because it's so close to my home and has such great seating. I love that it's downtown and there's so much going on (nightlife) in this area. It's right next to Starbucks which gives extra kudos points because we all love coffee! I also must say there's a Subway there, a Chinese restaurant and an Ice Cream shop (Cold Stone) right out front in the same spot. Plaza gets another big A+ for the colorful water fountain and other nearby hot spots (restaurants that are a bit more pricey but worth it) and the inside of the theater is clean and the seating is great because they built the seating in such a way that whoever is in front of you sits a lot lower than you so you don't have to worry about anyone's big head being in the way at the movies. Food prices are high, but that's normal... actually very normal. So, they're not so high in comparison I think they have very similar pricing for the food items. They sell bottled waters, and bottled drinks as well as fountain drinks, a few different kinds of ice cream including big dove ice cream bars, they also sell nachos, hot dogs, candies and my favorite icee's. They have a small arcade. The absolute best part of this place is they have 14 theaters to chose from and they have a lot of good movies and a lot of them in 3d, not to mention midnight showings of new releases, special events for local movies and foreign films. Great to have a nice movie theater right in the middle of town right next to a Cold Stone ice cream parlor and a Starbucks. If you're hungry there are plenty of eating options too. Hope more people discover it before they close down. read more

I am not really going to trash this place, but what was the city thinking when putting the theatre here. They should have put it were the old carriage square theatre used to be now they are going to build a lowe's. There would have been plenty of places for parking. Theatre is okay, but they actually frisked me because they thought I brought food in. My friend was a diabetic, and he had to eat food imagine being told to eat their popcorn if your a diabetic couldnt bring in a little snack and had his backpack confiscated. In the few years i have been coming here the movie had to be stopped 5 times for me. security is bad also. When the new theatre opens up this place will probably become a 3 dollar show or go out of buisness. I know they are going to build one near the new target. whoppee read more

Small theatre in the heart of downtown Oxnard. It's a great location and never gets too busy. The service isn't the best at this location, but you'll save the extra buck versus going to the larger theatre in RiverPark. The cheap eats inside are very basic and restrooms are clean. read more

I like this theater for it's seating. Every chair can recline and every chair's arm-rest lifts up so it's like you have a sofa. Great for holding hands with your date or leaning into each other. We try to support the Plaza theater because we live in Oxnard and it is close to us. We find that many of the movies we want to see are not available at the Plaza. We end up going to Ventura or Camarillo. I think the Plaza needs to broaden the type of movies they select. read more

Just came back from watching a movie there and most horrible experience yet. I've gone before and gotten stale nachos and never complained about it. This time the guy soaked my popcorn in butter and the icees were so watery. They also checked my ticket about 4 times before I went into the theatre. Not to mention the last time they checked it is when I was coming back in from getting food at the snack bar & I had my hands full. It was a very frustrating day for me today at the plaza. read more

Plaza theater is a great theater especially on Sundays and Tuesdays with $5 being a great price . The listing of movies and times at the ticket booth are awesome so high tech also I love the built in the wall monitor next to the ticket booth it gives you the option to purchase tickets in advance and view movie trailers to help customers on decision making. The concession stand YUMM! Always looking forward to eating buttery popcorn with such tasty flavored seasoning double YUMM! Today I took my family to watch a movie, everything was great until we were almost at our seats we noticed there blue chairs were tinged brown. I'm not talking about a stain here or there I walked throughout the whole row and most seats looked mostly brown you could see the dust and debris all over them. My daughter sat down and immediately started sneezing and coughing, I went to speak with manager on duty to inform him of the condition these seats are in. He went on to tell me how they have been cleaning the seats the week prior and those may have been skipped. I told him how those are unsanitary and I will be reporting this. So disappointing had to take my children somewhere else they were so disappointed. This matter needs to be addressed immediately! Oh and the hair balls were out of control as well. read more

Love that they have the special Tuesday and Sunday deal. But one the things I notices was that people go to plaza Cinemas 14 when watching a movie there using there cell phone that hard for me to watch awesome movie. Went to watch two movies that I purchase in both them there were less five people on there cell phones. I'm not sure why are they looking on there cell phone when watching a movie. Maybe they were look at something or recording it the movie or playing game or txt message. This lady next me was making a appointment right there spot when watching the movie. This lady took her kids to watch Jurassic park world and each 15 mins she need to see her cell phone(this day went 6:40 pm and June 30,2015). Those Plaza Cinemas 14 have a rule return off cell phone when watching movie. Those people if wanted watched movie and use cell phone same time than Plaza Cinemas 14 great place for you.
