Upscale steakhouse in santa Fe, the service is top notch, our waiter is super attentive and really patient to explain things to us and help us to pick our meal. no pushy or upsale just good service. during our visit their AC had a problem, so the manager came over to apologize and check on us multiple times. really attention to detail and caring. we shared the bone marrow and mussels as appetizer. the mussels is a must have. i think it's the shiner bock beer really makes it very tasty. two of us shared the tomahawk for main, is big and cooked to perfection. we picked the truffle butter and peppercorn demi, they are pairing really well with the steak. the waiter recommend the mushroom as a side, which is amazing. in the end we packed our bones back home for the dogs and also packed the truffle butter home, they are so delicious not to waste. make sure to pay them a visit if you want a great steak. Reservation is needed as they are booked out way in advance.

JBF Taste America Dinner - Beet-Chocolate Cake, Almond Frosting, and Basil Ice Cream

I was here for the JBF Taste America dinner and attended the pre-dinner reception as well. The bites served during the reception were so tasty I had to hold back to make sure I had room for dinner. Every dish served during the dinner was a delightful combination of tastes, smells, textures, and visuals. I especially enjoyed the dessert of chocolate cake with almond frosting and basil ice cream. Each component was tasty, but altogether, it created an entirely different flavor that still retained each's individuality. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are attentive, considerate, and friendly. It was a great experience and I got to meet some lovely people as well.

Market Steer in New Mexico delivered the best steak I've ever had, ands down. The service was just as impressive. From the moment we walked in, nothing was off the table. The team went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. The ambiance, the food, and the wine were all perfectly in sync, elevated yet welcoming. Be sure to ask for Jason, the onsite sommelier. His wine pairings were spot-on and brought the whole meal to life. He truly made the experience unforgettable. If you're looking for a world-class steakhouse experience, this is it. Market Steer gets everything right. Make sure you get a reservation. It will be busy. If youre visiting santa fe, dont miss out on this experience.

This is a great restaurant. Amazing cocktails by friendly, engaging bartender in the beautiful bar. Great service in the dining room. Melt in your mouth steak.

Delicious food, drinks and service. A must try when in Santa Fe. Worth the hype. Definitely make recommendations unless you want to chance it on the Tack Room/Bar. Great energy and atmosphere.

From the time we walked in, this was an exceptional dinner experience! To start with they gave us bubbly to celebrate our anniversary. Explained the entire menu. Brought us the best bread with green chile butter. We split the bacon and butter salad which was pretty awesome with a little spice. We both ordered steak. I got the filet and my husband got the New York strip. These were some of the most tender steaks we've had! We went all out and got the sauce flight that came with 8 different sauces we could try with our steak. We paired our steaks with whipped potatoes that were very tasty. The inside of the restaurant was very upscale southwestern! The only reason I give it 4 stars is bc my husband's strip was not cooked medium well as we requested. It was more medium to medium rare. Besides that I recommend trying this place!

Bacon board (already dug in before I took a photo. Beef bacon on the left and pork on the right.

Came up from Albuquerque for a candlelight concert at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center and decided to do dinner before at Market Steer, due to its proximity. What an amazing experience! From incredible bacon (never knew there was such a thing as beef bacon), to roasted tomato gazpacho soup with feta and almonds, to a flavorful and tender filet with mushrooms, haricot verts, green chile risotto and finishing with the key lime brûlée. Every thing was top notch, including the service. Very impressed and we will be back!

Today, politicians and government staff dined around us in the bar, chatting away about local issues. We made a reservation though it wasn't entirely necessary with the bar 80% full. Friendly attentive service was experienced by everyone there. We were first-timers but felt welcome. The dark wood and green furniture seemed suited. A pleasant place for lunch. Ordered soup (creamy green chile), a wedge salad, and the Tuesday special meatloaf that came with mash potatoes, steamed veggies, the most wonderful dark gravy, and warm bread. It was all great! The star of the show was actually the gravy, so full of flavor. The wedge was fresh and crisp with maybe a couple too many ingredients for my taste. The soup was "creamy" by title but not as creamy as I expected, and that's actually good. Wonderful flavor. The potatoes were really good too. Portions. Price. Everything met or exceeded expectations. We will certainly be back, probably for lunch again. One last thing: we had a couple leftovers and, I'm surprised I'm saying this, but it was packed up extraordinarily well. Meatloaf in one carton, potatoes in another, a small cup of extra gravy in a separate container. I mean who does that? So considerate. Great attention to detail. Highly recommended. Next time I'm going to save some room for dessert, for sure.

So, why four stars instead of five? I blame that on the Pittsburgh Sear... a fun request that traps in the juices and results in a serving of amazing goodness. It is difficult. I am not sure if my order was misinterpreted or not relayed but the filet, which was delicious, lacked the sear ‍ I will try again on a future visit... maybe this time next year?

I'll get right to the point so the rest of our night is no longer wasted by your horrible restaurant. First of all, the gap between giving us water and asking what drinks we'd like was at least 20 mins. The gap between ordering drinks and receiving them was at least 25 minutes. That's over a 45 minute wait!! Not to mention, when my stepfather asked about the Manhattan, the server said she didn't know anything about it. (We'd soon find out your "chefs" don't know anything about cooking). While we're on the subject of servers, we had four of them. Not sure if one was supposed to be a primary server or if we were deliberately given a rotating cast of uncaring people off the street who had the demeanor of someone about to receive a colonoscopy. Hey Owner- maybe when charging 4 people $360 for 4 bloody slabs of unseasoned meat (despite 3 people requesting medium-well), the least you could do is provide ONE server. Also- we noticed you raised your prices an extra $25 per plate for your Christmas meal. Thanks. I won't feel bad at all when you close your doors permanently. My family deserved better. The city of Santa Fe deserves better. You deserve bankruptcy. Seasons Greetings, Our Extremely Disappointed Family PS The au jus sauce had no flavor whatsoever. Why even include it?
