I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my "go to" when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn't so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here. Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.

My server thought the shrimp quesadilla was served with pico. Nope, tomato slice. In order to get pico, I was charged for a side, at $2.95. Seems high, but the rest of the items seem reasonably priced. My husband got the Arroz con Pollo, which was served in a bowl already mixed together. He thought it was great! Would have thought tortillas came with his dish, but we were charged for a side of them. Salsa verde is amazing and will get your head sweating. We also had the margarita (?) dip. Ground beef, beans, cheese, yummmmmmm. While we were there, between 1:30-2:45, lots of late lunchers were coming and going. Also, at least two Latino groups, which typically is high praise for whichever ethnic restaurant you've chosen, to have actually eating their native food there. All in all, great food, servers were friendly and attentive, and husband was happy.

I told him I didn't like it and asked why they would grind it so finely. He shrugged and walked away. This was something I couldn't eat, it was like canned dog food pate. When he finally came around again, I asked if I could pay for the drink and have the nacho taken off the bill. He said he couldn't. I pointed to the plate, which was still virtually full, telling him that I had only taken 3 bites and didn't want it. After discussing this with him several times, he brought me the bill - no deduction. I now discovered that the 3 tablespoons of cheese dip that was brought out was billed at $5.50. Were they serious? I went in and asked the manager. He flat out refused to remove any amount from the bill. I offered to pay for the dip and drink - all he would do was repeat the total. No apology for the food, no discussion. This was the second time I have been here since it changed hands. It used to be pleasant and had good food. No more. The first visit, the food made me sick. I had not gone back until now, maybe a year later. It was also ready annoying to have to deal with a drunk on the patio. When he finally figured out I wasn't interested in chatting, he turned the music up so loud that conversation with the person next to me was impossible . I asked the server if it could be turned back down - he did nothing. Will NEVER return. No one should be forced to pay for mystery meat.
