Since we came during lunch, we had their lunch special. I was very impressed with the lunch special prices. They were very reasonable and affordable. It also comes with a side of two spring rolls. I ordered the Pad Thai Chicken with a level 3 spice, and I got an iced Thai Tea. The Pad Thai entree is everything you could want in a Pad Thai dish done right. The noodles had a great consistency, held the sauce well, the veggies were crunchy and tasted very fresh. The sauce was the perfect flavor of sweet and savory, and the spice level was just perfect. I asked for a 2.5 spice level if that was possible haha, it said 3 on the receipt so I'm not sure if it was really 3 but spice was perfect for me. Also, the Thai Tea! I haven't ordered Thai Tea in a while but it was so delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet and tasted like the true Thai Tea flavor I grew up loving as a kid. The decor and the space was really nice. I liked the art and colors of the decor. It felt vibrant against the dark space which contrasted well. There's many tables and seating options as well. When I arrived, I was seated fairly quickly. Lastly, our service was just outstanding. They were quick, friendly, and very helpful. I couldn't wait to try it so ordered for delivery. Wonton Soup: sooooo disappointed, just so bland! Where is the fried garlic, green onion, the rich unctuous flavorful broth?? What is this imposter?! Chicken Pad Thai: the rice noodles were cooked well, not mushy - which was my fear after having the soup - but the flavor was still so ... Thai food is "POW" - explosion on the taste buds, but this...I am so sad that Hixson's first Thai restaurant is sadly Americanized. The flavors were there on the Pad Thai, but it was just a whisper of what you would normally experience with Thai food. It is a generous portion but does that matter if it's bland? I went from such excitement to such disappointment.
