    Spicy Paloma!

Food was great and surprised by the cool decor after we walked in. Great queso and the "Cali-style" burrito with fries inside was awesome. Great drinks and awesome service!

Check out this burrito, looked almost too good to eat

My wife and I tried this spot at the recommendation of a mutual friend as Hixson is not a normal destination city for our restaurant selections. We arrived early so there were very few people there, and we picked a spot adjacent to the bar. The restaurant has a "fun", "hip" vibe, consistent I would offer with some of their takes on traditional Mexican dishes. It's a broad menu, with a few surprises. As we sipped on our custom margaritas, munching on our chips, salsa and queso, we made or entree decisions. a chicken mole and burrito. The salsa was a bit mild for our liking, and the queso while very flavorful, was a bit watery, but as it cooled, the consistency moved to where you would like. The food presentation was unbelievable, there was some real talent demonstrated, and the food itself, did not disappoint. Great service by our waiter who walked that fine line between becoming a distraction and discreetly assuring an overall enjoyable eating experience. This one folks is worth giving a try!

Was very impressed at the extensive and varied menu, containing items you rarely find at other Mexican restaurants such as mole & sopas. They were fantastic and beautifully plated! The wait staff were kind and did a great job. Skip the same old same old & eat here.

Came for a quick lunch while waiting for my friend. I've been dreaming of the pineapple margarita ever since! I sat at the bar and the service was great. I also ordered the Tinga taquitos and they were a 10/10. Very chill spot and wasn't too crowded.

We had a fantastic lunch at Spanglish! I ordered the chicken fajitas and my partner ordered the chimichanga. Both were delicious. Cooked to perfection and served quickly. The service was excellent. All our needs were met and the server was very friendly. The restaurant was so festive inside. Nice brute colors and yet dark. I love me a low lite atmosphere! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I forgot to snap a pic of our lunch, but it was tasty. The restaurant was dim with colorful art and murals. It reminded me of a Tex Mex place you'd find in TX. It was a nice surprise to find a cool new spot in the Hixson area. It would be a fun spot for a dinner with friends or a bday gathering with good food.

Strong drinks, healthy portions for a fair price. Ambiance is very cool, the lighting highlighting different colors with very well done murals of notables like Frida Kahlo. Has a slight bar vibe as opposed to a traditional restaurant but we enjoyed it and it's very clean. We really liked the salsa and queso, the salsa had a nice but very slight kick to it, and it was fresh. My barra tacos were filling and loaded with flavor. The chimichanga was insanely huge. We have tons of leftovers. The margaritas use real agave and juices pressed daily, no pre-mix sweet and sour here. Service was excellent, but we were almost the only ones in the restaurant at 2:30 on a Monday. We'll certainly be back and highly recommend.

Slow service, double the cost and no Chips and salsa. If this is modern I miss the good old days. It use to be a great tradition place.

It's very modern with vibrant decor and good music playing. There's a large Bar in the middle of the restaurant with TV's and booths and tables all around. No outdoor dining that I can remember, but I could be mistaken. We've had several dishes, but my go to is the Spicy Burrito with Tinga or grilled chicken. You won't find a spicier burrito with flavor anywhere in town. If you like melted cheese, almost every dish is swimming in it. According to my wife the Margaritas are on point! I prefer a cold beer. The service is good. We're always greeted and have good conversation with the servers and bar tenders when we dine in VS take out. They have a big party for Cinco de Mayo every year. Highly recommend.

We had our two young girls and they were very understanding and accommodating (high chair and coloring sheets). The menu is interesting but to be honest, we enjoyed almost none of our items. The cocktails were very meh. Not awful but not great. The food is really where this place lacks in my opinion. No one was a fan of almost any dish we got. The puffy tacos with redfish were likely the worst. Under seasoned and close to being gross. The catfish dish was so so. The fish itself was good but the grits were hard and the green tomatoes were so sour that they overpowered everything else. The ribs tried but I'd suggest going to a legit BBQ joint for real meats like this. The potatoes were greasy and mostly bland. I'd rank this our least favorite meal in the city. Interestingly enough. We were just at a Michelin star restaurant less than a week before and had the complete opposite experience.

The bathrooms are always clean, which I appreciate. Paid street parking is usually easy to find, though during busy hours it can take a little more time. The veggie fajitas are an absolute treat and full of flavor. The guacamole is fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the salsa is truly top notch. One of the most delightful surprises is that the churros are vegan, and they are unforgettable. The Papillón dish is especially meaningful. It can be made vegan and comes from the owner's grandmother's recipe in Guatemala. That personal touch really shines through and makes the menu feel inspired and unique. There used to be a young blonde male bartender who was hands down one of the best servers I have ever had. He was personable and somehow remembered both your order and your conversations even months later. That level of hospitality really stood out. Prices are not cheap, and the ingredients are not explicitly organic, but the quality, flavor, and thoughtful menu make it well worth it. Highly recommend if you are looking for consistently great food and a standout dining experience in Chattanooga.

It doesn't have any real flashy decor, it's very humble in it's atmosphere and setting. But where it really show off it's greatness is in the food and the service. Our server was "Excellent"! Very helpful with our order and because of our dietary needs we were very specific on what we wanted and didn't want. She made it all happen and when it did, OMG the food was so good (the salsa could have used more cilantro, but I'm nit picking at that) and there were very reasonable portions for a very reasonable price. I know of at least 3 other places in the vicinity of this restaurant that are not only higher priced for what you get (very little), but the food is bland and poorly prepared and/or a poor quality of ingredients that make the food undesirable.
