Came in with a large party and we were advised that our food would be comped due to orders being incorrect, never received, or served improperly. We were told we would only be responsible for alcoholic beverages. However, several days later, every person in our group was charged an additional $40-$50 on top of what we paid the night of the visit. When speaking with a member of management, we were told that our party "walked out on the tab" and that, per the advisement of the police department, they were charging us for the food they claim we didn't pay for. This makes absolutely no sense -- if someone walks out on a bill, how would you obtain their credit card information? We all have signed receipts, and we all waited in line and paid the amounts we were charged before leaving the restaurant. The manager has been unprofessional throughout this entire situation. Even when there is a disagreement, there is still a professional way to handle business. Do not give this establishment your credit card. read more

My wife and I tried this spot at the recommendation of a mutual friend as Hixson is not a normal destination city for our restaurant selections. We arrived early so there were very few people there, and we picked a spot adjacent to the bar. The restaurant has a "fun", "hip" vibe, consistent I would offer with some of their takes on traditional Mexican dishes. It's a broad menu, with a few surprises. As we sipped on our custom margaritas, munching on our chips, salsa and queso, we made or entree decisions. a chicken mole and burrito. The salsa was a bit mild for our liking, and the queso while very flavorful, was a bit watery, but as it cooled, the consistency moved to where you would like. The food presentation was unbelievable, there was some real talent demonstrated, and the food itself, did not disappoint. The atmosphere was really cool. It was rather loud so it is hard to have a conversation without yelling. The food price was higher than most Mexican style restaurants. However, the food was really good but still hard to pay $98 for two margaritas, dip trio, two side tacos, kids meal and two tostadas. The service wasn't great. Nothing came out at the same time. Not even the drinks and we had to remind them constantly for things. I am willing to give it another try because I do feel like the food quality was better than an average Mexican style restaurant but maybe that is why two tostados cost $12.00 read more

Strong drinks, healthy portions for a fair price. Ambiance is very cool, the lighting highlighting different colors with very well done murals of notables like Frida Kahlo. Has a slight bar vibe as opposed to a traditional restaurant but we enjoyed it and it's very clean. We really liked the salsa and queso, the salsa had a nice but very slight kick to it, and it was fresh. My barra tacos were filling and loaded with flavor. The chimichanga was insanely huge. We have tons of leftovers. The margaritas use real agave and juices pressed daily, no pre-mix sweet and sour here. Service was excellent, but we were almost the only ones in the restaurant at 2:30 on a Monday. We'll certainly be back and highly recommend. read more

Well I'm happy to say tonight's dinner was amazing. Hands down asada street tacos where perfect. Don't ever change your meat!!!!!!! We got the Al Pastor street tacos. They where also amazing. Right off the bat the server was exceptional. I could not read the menu and she offered to tell me about the items. Chips and salsa was promptly brought to the table and she checked on us throughout the meal. I found the enchiladas verdas were outstanding but my husband's steak tacos were out of this world. There is a slight char on the meat that gives it an incredible flavor. I'm going to get a steak burrito next time. The ambiance isn't bad. We had high hopes for this place. The vibe is awesome. The food sucked. Over price Mexican food. I had a Torta beef. The beef was like beef jerky. The lady had a burrito. The burrito was good but temperature was just Luke warm. I ordered 2 beers. The first one was in a frosty mug and the second was in a hot mug. The place was only 25% occupied. They did have a Large party this evening so that may have been part of the problem. We seen other guest turning food away they had waited so long. I was so hyped to try this place but I do not see me coming back. I did express my concerns but always pay for what I ordered. This is my first and last trip. Being from Southern California I find that the common theme here for Mexican food is different than what I'm used to. Spanglish however gets me and I'm excited to say delivers! I went for lunch and had the tacos! The setting looks geared towards an evening crowd. I was told before ordering that they don't offer ground beef for any of their dishes (oh happy days, I'm in the right place) Next is their salsa, it has a great spicy flavor. I was so excited to learn that the owner's are also from SoCal and want to share their style of Mexican food with Chattanooga. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. So honestly probably more a 4 or 4.5 but this early in it's review process I'd rather it get more attention. Food was some of the best Mexican-american style in the area.
