My wife and I had been regular customers here for about 16 years...until yesterday. We live all the way in Georgia and used to drive past 2 other Amigos just to eat at this one. But yesterday, we had one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a public place. Our waiter was incredibly rude, refused to even check on us, never gave me a refill on my sweet tea, and would just turn around and give us his back...mid-conversation. He did it to me twice and once to my wife. Instead of making a scene, we simply left and informed the manager as we paid. Then, as I went back to the table to leave him a tip anyway, the guy runs outta the back, gets in my face, and even tried to push me. Next thing I know, it's me vs. 6-7 Mexicans with my poor wife stuck in the middle. The little waiter still yelling, cussing, and talking about everything he's gonna do to us....But doing all this from the very back of the pack. On our drive back to Georgia, my wife told me that right before he ran up on me, she haf asked the manager TWICE to keep him away from us...and especially me. She said the manager simply shrugged and let it happen anyway. So yeah...Helluva way to treat your regulars. I guess their near-failing health score and filthy kitchen isn't the only issue they are having.. Hopefully, they will figure things out and fix it...But we will never know. I was invited by some friends to try out one of their favorite Mexican restaurants Amigo. Moving here from Southern California I was excited to find a good Mexican restaurant. I'm a little biased with that geographic area and was not expecting ground beef as an as the beef ingredient. I thought it was birria or carne asada. The other surprise was queso cheese sauce on everything. The people I was with seemed fine with the meat and were excited with all the cheese sauce. If you are use to a southwestern style then you might want to check out some place else. read more

Ordered DoorDash delivery from here. It was quick and the order was accurate, but food was very very average. Spinach queso dip was watered down mush, no sort of thickness from the white cheese dip at all. Probably because they used frozen spinach and it had to defrost. Hard tacos were good, but mushy. I guess that's my fault for ordering hard tacos to-go. The salsa is good, and they did give me 2 bags of chips so at least I can salvage the now soft-shell tacos with the chips. Wouldn't recommend for delivery. This food isn't meant to be delivered. read more

Upon arriving I stood by the door for a minute, I was not approached, I'm the one that had to approach them. They didn't ask how I was doing, but they did say that to every other customer that walked through the door. The table I sat at was very sticky. I asked for a Burrito Grande without any meat, they put the rice on the side, instead of inside the burrito. The server blamed the kitchen for making this decision. Once the server left, I heard the kitchen laughing. The table wasn't pre-bussed, the queso dip was saucy and with no flavor. Hands down, without a doubt, no argument, the WORST fajitas in town. The meat is minced so fine it's unrecognizable. Same for the veggies. Everything is dry and lacking flavor. They cheat and give you more veggies than meat. I mean I paid extra for all the meat and for what?! The plate has no tomato or pico to help spice things up. They give you barely a teaspoon of guacamole and sour cream. The tortillas were hard. Honestly I'm feeling completely bamboozled. Scammed. Ripped off. How are there so many Amigos around town? Why are people supporting this place? Is there something I'm missing? I haven't been this disappointed in a long time. Trust me when I say I will never ever ever return. We chose it because it's close to the Interstate. We got the chili relleno and taco lunch special. The relleno had no breading which we liked. It was stuffed with hamburger which we didn't like. We got large guacamole salads. The draft beers came in 2 sizes, too large and too small. If we had thought, we would have ordered one 32 oz and 2 glasses. Ten oz was too small. We all loved that they have a mini Vegetarian section on their menu! There are about 6 entrees for vegetarians, which is lot for any restaurant. There was 11 of us so we called in to make a reservation just 15 mins before and as soon as we got there we were seated and our table was ready. I got the veggie quesadilla with zucchini and it was pretty good, the grilled veggies flavor was great! Came with rice and guacamole on a bed of lettuce/pico de gallo. The cheese enchilada, tostada and burrito combo were good too. Very cheese for me though, so if you like that, then order this entree for sure! Overall the flavors of the entrees were great. Customer service was very attentive to our requests and needs, and the food came out very quickly! Although the chips and salsa were just 'okay'. The chips are too thick for me, and the regular salsa is spicy, so I asked for a mild version and it tasted like just tomato sauce/soup. read more

I have ordered delivery from here several times and I am never disappointed. My favorite item is the pick 3 which allows you to choose 3 select items from the menu. It is served with traditional rice and refried beans. I usually get the tamale, enchilada and Chile relleno. I add extra white cheese sauce and it's amazing. The portion size is generous so I usually have leftovers but it's even yummy the next day. My orders are always correct and fresh and I love the variety they offer. This is definitely a place you should consider when planning your next delivery! read more

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants we have eaten at in a long time. We arrived at 3:30, a little late for the lunch specials. We both ordered the $6.99 special that included Rice and Beans plus 2 meat entrees. I ordered a beef enchilada and a soft taco. My wife ordered a chicken enchilada and a cheese quesadilla. The beef taco was the best I have eaten period! It was stuffed with beef. Not like the usual taco where they skimp on the meat. My wife said the quesadilla was the best she's ever had. The rest of the meal was equally as good. The house salsa is just a little too spicy for my taste so I asked for and received a bowl of mild salsa. The chips were not tough but fresh and crispy. I come put from Ringgold to dine here regularly. Orders are always spot on and tasty. I always get the Texas fajita. I can feel my arteries clogging up, but you only live once, right? I just tried their bacon, jalapeno cheese dip and it's just as sinfully glorious as it sounds. I also had their top shelf margarita and super surprised I can type this up with minimal typos. Amigos is always good. The Lunch menu I ordered from today has a wide variety to choose from and is very reasonably priced. My meal was $6.33 with water to drink. The service was good and server attentive even though it was a small ticket meal. I was checked on several times, asked if I wanted anything, etc. Not long ago, this location was remodeled so the interior is inviting and nicely appointed. All-in-all, if you want a good experience with Mexican food, at a reasonable price, go no further! read more

We had a terrible experience. Our particular server was fast and friendly. That's all the good I can say. First we went into the bathroom and the floor was SOAKED. No "wet floor" sign in sight. I slipped and fell and busted my knee. I went out to the front desk to tell the lady about the floor. I nicely said "I just wanted to tell you the bathroom floor is soaked, I just slipped and fell." She looked at me with no emotion and said "okay". I said "oh I'm fine by the way" and she smiled and said "okay". She could not care less. I ordered takeout. After a long hold and being hung up on, I was able to get my order placed (new mother had a craving). I go to get it, wait in line to be helped while employees stood around, not trying to serve anyone in line. Get my food, go to the hospital. Pick the bag up and salsa comes pouring out of a hole in the bag. The cups were in sideways and spilled over into the other dishes. I call them, explain what happened, they said come up for a refund. When I get there they then asked for the food that had already been thrown away, even though I asked them on the phone if I needed to bring anything. Manager said he had to have the food to do anything, and then told me to leave or he was calling the cops. Will never go there again. read more

We were just passing through town, on our way to Florida, when we found this restaurant on Yelp. We visited the location on Ringgold. Even though it was Saturday night, and they were very busy, we did not have to wait long to get a table. The waiter came over and got our drink order very quickly, and brought the drinks right away. We then placed orders, ate the complementary chips and salsa (great salsa!), and the food was delivered quickly. There were four of us and three of us had fajitas (2 chicken, 1 beef), and the fourth person had some kind of nachos with chicken. Right away we all commented on how salty all four of our meals tasted. Even though we had three orders of fajitas they only brought two dishes with the beans, rice, etc. as soon as we let the waiter know, he brought another dish out right away. As we were eating, I was struck by how loud the busboy's cart was as he blazed down the tile aisle between tables on his way to clear tables. This is a cart with four wheels and three bus tubs on it, so as he scurried down the tile floor it made a very loud and distracting noise. And then when we are ready to go, we had to send for our waiter to get our check. The environment was clamorous to say the least, very much filled with echoing conversation, clattering of plates, and the busboys cart rattling across the floor. It wasn't relaxing at all. I don't think I would go back, and if I did, I would ask them to leave off all of the salt because my dish was barely edible. Based on all the other reviews, I cannot imagine our experience was normal. It sounds like other people have had fine experiences and great food. Typically, Amigi's is a decent Mexican restaurant. But tonight we couldn't have been more disappointed! We ordered a taco salad and two basic soft tacos. The taco salad was really heavy and so we initially thought it was loaded down with ingredients and that's what gave it its weight. But when we took a fork and put it on the side and moved the ingredients over towards the middle, the bowl was filled with probably an inch and a half at least of liquid. Of course I thought it was grease at first, but I tasted it and it was just a flavorless liquid, like water to be honest. Ground beef and water and then of course all your regular toppings. Needless to say there was no salvation for that and so it went in the garbage and we don't get to eat dinner tonight because it's too late to go back out and it's too late to cook. Served with rice and refried beans. Grilled Chicken 7.25 We both really enjoyed our meal and was very pleased with the serving size and thought the price was fair and average in our guidelines. I will say that it was better than any other mexican establishment that I have eaten at in a while but in fairness I don't eat at many very often. Yes, the interior is cheesy and the Mexican fare is very Americanized, but if you like that sort of thing (I REALLY do) you'll like Amigo's. It's all white cheese and processed tortillas and rice.
